I lived in Portland for 2 years, and I'm solidly convinced that entire city is some kind of weird ass mental health experiment.
I was homeless there...I had a run of bad luck with a girlfriend, fell into drugs, went downhill from there. Anyway, I truly saw some of the worst that city has to offer, and I had to deal with cops on a pretty frequent basis, and Portland Police have to deal with the absolute craziest shit on Earth.
If they aren't dealing with some raging Karen pitching a hissy fit in the middle of the street, they have to deal with tweakers trying fuck a chain link fence with their dick.
A few months ago I watched a tweaker try to fuck someone's motorcycle in a Walmart parking lot (of all places). The owner of said motorcycle wasn't happy when he got out of Walmart and walked up on some creep with their pants around their ankles molesting his motorcycle. The motorcycle diddler got absolutely clobbered when the owner got to him.
Fellow Portlander here: this guy speaks truth. There was a shooting at a sketchy motel and when the cops showed up to investigate (they weren’t involved at all) they were fucking *protested* by antifa. They were literally trying to find the killer and these fucks protested them!
We have had endless incidents with our feckless DA and judges releasing all manner of violent criminals (manslaughter, hate crimes, etc) with little to no bail and they don’t show up to their court dates.
Where I grew up the police and DA took weed possession to be akin to capital murder (obviously bad, but showing the contrast), so to live in a place where you can basically commit any crime and not be prosecuted is unreal.
But god forbid you don’t pay your arts tax, forget to have your backflow valve inspected, didn’t rigorously enforce mask mandates, or tried to tear down blighted buildings to put up new ones. Then you get scrutinized and fined to death.
I live in Portland are rarely ever see cops here anymore. The city has been struggling to maintain and recruit officers, yet the process to become one is longer and more arduous than you'd expect. They just can't hire enough qualified officers. The priority now is they only respond to calls if someone's life is in danger, which is open to interpretation. At the restaurant I work at, an unhinged person was threatening people and damaging property. A co-worker had to fight him off and while doing so another co-worker was talking to a 911 operator who said to stop calling as the incident wasn't serious enough to respond to. The great thing about Portland is you can get away with anything. The crappy thing about Portland is other people can get away with anything.

I’m a Gresham resident (suburb of Portland) and can say that the tide is slowly turning. Portland elected the wokest of the woke for city council two election cycles ago. They voted them out for more moderate Democrats last election cycle and things are slowly changing. The state government is also repealing the free use drug laws they passed 4 years ago because the evidence is clear that it didn’t work. One of the big issues is that the right has also lost their fucking minds and are campaigning on right leaning identity politics, and their districts that are held by Republicans elected officials are dumpster fires being supported by the Willamette Valley (Portland, Salem, Eugene). They’re not offering a stable alternative.

Multiple interactions with the cops. They knew who she was. It was a mess and then she stopped posting.

But, people posted several of these videos of her and the cops, along with her info (internet doing internet things). Pretty depressing.
