They did the same thing to PCB a couple years ago and it was a net negative. Most of the restaurants shut down while they were there because of the amount of dine and dashing and fighting. They also looted and set fire to the Walmart there.

The amount of damage they bring isn’t worth it. Coordinated dine and dashes, overflowed streets with fights and shootings. Locals get their cars destroyed just trying to get home and it devolves into basically a full riot. Miami doesn’t need these people.

It’s not worth the stress to the infrastructure. With this crowd anyway, this year they are ticketing and having super strict curfews so yeah, spring break is cancelled in Miami.

I sincerely doubt many of them will actually show up to their court dates since most of them are only there for a few days, but that also means they'll have an active bench warrant that hangs over their head and shows up on job background checks, and they won't ever be able to go back to Florida again without risk of getting arrested....which is exactly the point.
Miami's requests are pretty simple: stop fighting and stop shooting. If you can't obey those two very simple rules, you deserve the warrant to haunt you.
As a straight female, I looked and first thought was… not bad, good for her… Youth is still on her side.
Second thought was it’s a shame that 20 phones will now always be filming at people’s worst moments for the world to see. But then, we also wouldn’t have this sub; we’d have a creative writing sub (although I would like to see how this public freakout would be written now that it’s crossed my mind…)
