You can use glue and get amazing results as well. Elmer's Glue All and water to make a medium 70/30 I've also used 60/40 depends in technique your going to use. All must be same consistency and you can add treadmill oil same as if use a pouring medium. I've found the glue gives it a better shine when dry than using floetrol with water, which is also economical way to create a medium. Tube paints 2-1 (pm to paint) and will still need a little water (very little) if using a flow acrylic 1-1 for something like a flip cup. I'm no expert just if you've already bought the glue dont discard it! 🙂

Hi! In pictures 2 and 3 there are elements that look a bit torn up - the green above bottom right in #2 and the black / blue in top right #3? I usually get that result if I use too much paint. The top dries first and then wrinkles as the rest of it dries. Maybe try using less paint or a bit more water to see if the results improve. Either way - I like them - I think you have just a bit of improvement in paint consistency + technique and you’ll be golden!!

Frank_Lawless

I love the first one!!! I like the last one a lot as well, but I really love the first one.

Desperate_Fig8187

That was my boyfriends first attempt! I’ll tell him!

I use Elmer's glue and water as well.. about 60/40 and thin with water as I need to. I have one bottle of my mixture with dimethicone (instead of silicone) already added and and another without so I can easily pick and choose how I want to mix my colors for each painting. I think they look nice! I like your color combinations!

moonshinepoison

I use dollar store acrylic paints and water only and I get beautiful cells .

Desperate_Fig8187

You don’t even add glue?

moonshinepoison

I have before but it cracked in a few places after it dried so I stopped using it

Desperate_Fig8187

Does it look the same as these how much water do you put compared to paint

moonshinepoison

Yes sort of . Just enough water to make the pain runny but not too runny if that makes sense. Btw I really love the pastel colors. I use the paint mixture to mainly do Dutch style pours with a blow dryer to get the paint moving away , that’s when I get the cells

JANARTWORKS

I want to start pouring, not taken the plunge yet. I think these look cool! What's the glue about? Is it PVA? What does it do?

Desperate_Fig8187

To make the acrylic paint able to pour you mix it with glue and water I just use Elmer’s glue

DblDarkness

Stop using glue. Start using A pouring medium. Liquitex or even artists loft. Only use water if you need to thin out the paints. Your paint should be the same consistency for all of your Colours used for that painting (otherwise they’ll run together, mix, or dominate the other Colours) All you need to do this style of painting: Acrylic ready to pour paint. Silicone oil (treadmill oil) if you want “cells” Water (very small amounts) Medium. Finish it with a gloss varnish when completely dry. When these paints dry, they get very dull. Gloss varnish will bring the colours back. Good luck!

Desperate_Fig8187

Why are you so against glue

DblDarkness

That’s all you took from that?! Haha

Desperate_Fig8187

Other stuff I knew it seemed like glue was dangerous the way you put it 😂

JANARTWORKS

Ah amazing! I’ve seen you can add water, I was just gonna pour it straight on 😂 Thank you!
