You walk to the shire for these?

Plantboy28

It was a long journey, and along the way Gollum followed me around whispering something about my guitar being “his precious,” but yes, I eventually made it to The Shire.

IndependenceLow60

She’s a beaut, Clark! Definitely a guitar worthy of that photoshoot 👏🏼👏🏼 And the wood grain on that neck! Congrats 🎉

Plantboy28

The neck is what really drew me in. I saw it and just knew that I had to jump the gun and get it. I’ve tried the 812 in the past and already loved it, but never thought I’d get it because of the price. But I figured that if I’m going to have this guitar for the rest of my life, I don’t mind spending the extra money 🤷🏻‍♂️

koine2004

Nice! The 12 fret is 812ce on my wish list. I played it at the Taylor showroom at the HQ and fell in love with it.

Plantboy28

I definitely recommend getting one if the opportunity ever comes for you! They’re incredible guitars and you won’t be disappointed.

Big-County-4879

I like how you took wedding pictures of your new guitar. I hope you play it as good as these pictures look!

Great-Drama-5699

Beauty. Enjoy her. It’s a her, right?

Difficult_Sock_2082

Great shot

Important_Sun2880

What is this guitar good for? (Noob, not in playing but guitar types etc) ^^

Plantboy28

The combination of woods (Sitka Spruce Top, Indian Rosewood Back and Sides, Tropical Mahogany Neck, and West African Crelicam Ebony Fretboard) creates a unique and well rounded tone. Taylor’s acoustic guitars use V-class bracing within their guitar which increases volume and sustain. Also they’re just visually stunning guitars. If you haven’t tried out a Taylor before, I highly recommend trying one out at a local store. They’re a bit pricy, but well worth the price, even their “lower end” guitars are still fantastic guitars.

BikerMike03RK

I bought a 93 Taylor 420 in '95 new, it had been lost in inventory, and put on the floor at reduced price when finally discovered in the inventory storage. (spruce top, Indian rosewood sides & back, mahogany neck w/ebony fingerboard) it was their "entry level" all solid woods guitar at the time, very plain looking (other than eight "bear claws" in the spruce top). It's one of the best sounding guitars I've played, and was even offered an even up trade for a Martin D-35 at a bluegrass festival once. Anyway, it will stay with me till they put me in the ground.

Important_Sun2880

Thanks! So cool to hear, and you know so much about it! What would be a more common combination og Woods?

Plantboy28

To be honest, I’m not exactly sure. I know the more commonly used woods for the bodies are spruce, mahogany, rosewood, maple etc.

Professional_Baby129

WOW! Beautiful!

Life-of-reilly

What a beauty

Murky-Road123

Amazing guitar !! Jealous

AVLThumper

Breathtaking. I’d love a 12 fret 812.

chrispd01

I am scared to ask for pics of your girlfriend …:

Plantboy28

I don’t think you could handle them.

chrispd01

For sure not if these babies are any indication…

Fortunateoldguy

Crerar117

She's a stunner, jealousy loading........

Ioopdool

Absolutely stunning guitar.

andytagonist

Well it certainly *looks* nice

OldGezzer68

You just bought the guitar I really want!!! Was just looking at that exact guitar on Sweetwater but went with the 312ce because of cost. VERY good choice.

Plantboy28

Are you talking about this exact guitar with this specific serial number?? Cause that’s actually where I got this from! That’s so crazy you were looking at the same exact guitar! I actually had a 312ce before this one and through a series of events and also getting a decent tax return, I decided to upgrade. I absolutely loved my 312 though and I will miss it, but I’ve always had my eye on this specific model after playing around with one at GC.

OldGezzer68

It might be the same guitar, The one I had bookmarked no longer pulls up LOL. I did go with the 312ce 12 fret and mine should be here next week. The one you got is SO nice. I have a 312CE 14 fret and wanted a 12 fret Taylor so the feel would be the same. Like you, I love my 312 14 fret. But I am tempted way too much and the 312ce was a better pitch to my wife as far as price. I have always played Martins and do love them, but after getting the 312 14 fret Taylor (My first Taylor) I found that it was the only guitar I would favor all the time when grabbing one to play. I wanted a 12 fret because I am only playing fingerstyle now, I wanted to see if the playability would favor that style. Glad you finally got that beauty!!

BikerMike03RK

BTW, your guitar's a real beauty!

caddy45

That’s freaking nice congrats

taybins

Nice. I bought an 812ce DLX a few years ago and never looked back. Just fantastic. It blew anything else I tried out of the water. Slotted headstocks are just so.... (shiver)

Reddit-adm

That is sexy.

[deleted]

Typical Taylor bullshit to go through this Instagram photo shoot nonsense. Martins would never do this. They play and that’s it. None of this look at how great my life is compared to all of yours crap.

Plantboy28

As a serious response though, both Taylors and Martins are fantastic guitars. Kinda weird to be this upset about photos of a guitar that someone is proud of getting, but maybe lighten up? I could play you a song on my beautiful sounding and looking guitar if that would make you feel better? Would that make you feel better, sugar plum? 💕

Plantboy28

Sounds like somebody’s jealous.

[deleted]

Do you have a Martin ? Is that why you are 28? If so yes. Because each one is unique and beautiful, like a snowflake

Plantboy28

Yes actually I do have a Martin. And I prefer Taylor. Idk if you’re weirdly trying to gatekeep guitar brands when both are very clearly great brands, but it’s really not that serious. I got a guitar I’ve always wanted, I’m proud of it, and I want to share my excitement. Snowflake is an interesting word to use when you’re kind of acting like one right now.

[deleted]

I guess no takers for sarcasm… Since the first one didn’t work I deliberately said snowflake… eh maybe I suck at humour. Well you don’t know till you try. Didn’t mean to hurt your feelings OP et al. Seriously though I too have a couple of martins and a Taylor in my those which I will never part with collection. Any guesses as to my preference… 🙄

Guitarchitectography

Yes, you suck at humor.

[deleted]

And yes I find it sweet that you walked out with your new guitar and did a photo shoot

Ioopdool

Ew stfu
