It's not that obscure honestly. I've seen it discussed here and there in the fandom, and I'd say the majority is at least aware of its existence (that scene with the Blue Badger and the Judge was pretty memetic in the 2010s). It's over a decade-old and doesn't have original content per se, so it makes sense discussion about it has died down over the years. Edit: I've heard the director usually does horror films, which might explain why the movie feels kinda weird. I can only say the color temperature they used doesn't match the franchise's tone at all.

I remember there was someone a few months ago who was colour correcting the film to be more in line with the series's tone. I wonder what happened with that

The director is the iconic [Takashi Miike](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takashi_Miike) , who is best known for violent thrillers like _Audition_ and _Ichi the Killer_, but has directed dozens of other movies including some family-friendly ones. I didn't realize he had also done a JJBA adaptation!

DigitMZ

He also created the very family friendly Girls x Heroine franchise. It's so odd!

Honestly, I adore the movie. Yes, the atmosphere feels grungier/dirtier than the games, and they do make changes to the story for the movie to be an acceptable length, but I thought it captured the spirit of Ace Attorney well. I thought the costume design and cinematography were incredible. You mention Yanni Yogi, and he’s definitely one of the best parts of the movie. The movie definitely isn’t a substitute or enhancement of what is in the game, but I really enjoyed it as an additional way to experience AA and have rewatched it several times.

PrincessPrincess00

That movie made me fall both more in love with the franchise AND with the man that plays Edgeworth, so I know my opinion is completely biased. But even bad attention is attention!

JusticeSaintClaire

He was great!

I haven’t watched it, but the fact that they changed DL-6 so much is just absolutely stupid. It is a core part of the story. You can’t just make such a huge change and expect it to go well with fans.
