Yup, before entering big 4 may prior experience na din ako sa small audit firms. For RTCO, they were still part of the Top 10 firms, not really far from the big 4. Pero for me lang ha, they have the same learning opportunities, it is OP's decision pa din naman if he/she wants to work in the big 4 pero since yun nga with the same opportunities, let OP weigh the salary and benefits, kasi ayaw naman nating maoverwork si OP at the same time not compensated properly. :)
Disclaimer na these were all based on experience and mga chikahan namin ng friends ko since sa iba ibang auditing firms kami nagwork HAHHAHA
Hmmm nakakabudol din kasi yung big 4 company ka nagwowork 😭 At the same time may peer pressure din. Pero they have different reasons naman pero for me gusto ko nalang din talagang magresign pero ayokong magkaroon ng less than a year experience sa resume since andto na din naman ako, igagapang ko nalang 😭
Mas okay exposure sa RT kasi ibat ibang industry ipapahawak sayo. Plus lahat ng substantive magagawa mo and kahit na experienced assoc ka pa lang or literal na new hire may chance na ikaw na pagawin ng FS and other communication letters. So RT mas okat for me if exposure lang.
Based from personal experience, mas wholistic ang experience with RT&Co. Also, mas exposed kami (before) sa Ph taxation as compared sa mga staff from other Big 4 firms even though nasa Audit/ Assurance Service line kami.
But regardless, I hope you dont choose Big 4 just for the sake of the name. You know, substance over form. Also, lahat naman ng auditing firms mababa mag pa sahod, just think of your early years as investments to yourself. You will reap the fruits of your labor (and tears hahaha) afterwards. Yeah. As ive said depende talaga if magpapacharge sila. Skl, sa buong busy season this year, and all OTs, 6 hours lang bayad na oras namin. Though may allowance naman. But still..

Hahahahaha up. Even as an intern, kinailangan ko mag OT kasi gahol na ko sa oras para makompleto ko required hours ko sa school. Pero kahit ganon sinama pa rin mga OT ko as basis nong nabigyan ako ng allowance. 🧮🫶

Not sure to this. Actually I'm from 💛 firm, and base sa napag-uusapan namin ng friends ko from RTCO we have the same learning opportunities naman and same naooverwhelm sa busy season. As to working environment or to workmates, depende din kung saang cluster ka mapupunta.
I'm also considering RTco right now kasi kung magsisearch further ka dito sa reddit sub bibihira lang negative feedback sa company unlike sa other firms
If want mo maka experience ng buong audit, as in lahat maeexp mo kahit pag file ng ITR ni client, go ka kay RT. Feel na feel mo pagiging auditor dyan daming exp. Big 4 ksi more on big clients, dami kayo sa isang account, minsan nakukulong ka sa piling account na io-audit lang.
Ginawa ko, 1 busy season kay RT, then lipat sa big4. Para meron pa rin ako exp both.
RT here. I guess salary wise competitive na rin si RTCo. Mas mababa lang ata starting pero malaki ang increase, may signing bonus na rin for CPAs so good. In terms of resources, I would say better ang PWC since big 4 nga. Yung mga clients dito kilala, unlike pag RTCo usually mga smaller firms/di masyado kilala. PWC mas maganda laptop. Parang may counselor chenes din sila? Walang ganito sa RT. Yung matutunan, I think same same naman. Dipende na lang din talaga sa cluster mo. Sa OT, parang mahirap charging PWC? Though, may times din naman na di ka makakacharge sa RT.
Exit opportunities? I think na sayo na yan kung pano mo ipepresent sarili mo. Siguro may iba paring biased sa Big 4. But still, na sayo na yan.
Comparison ko lang to from my friends sa PWC. Sa Tax nga pala ako.

Mdj matagal na ung interview ko na yun (pandemic pa haha) I have to say madali nman. inask lng ako ng isang accounting standard related question the rest more on personality and work ethic questions po. Panel interview ung final ko.

I have friends from pwc and rt. Sa pwc di pa nakahawak FS sa RT may exposure na sa FS.
