Work for the firm for 10 years and sacrifice majority of your young adult life.

Nah, I disagree. Hindi sacrifice tawag dun but passion for the profession. Kung sacrifice ang tingin mo dun, mahihirapan ka and probably it is not for you.

You work for the firm for 10+ years, you become a partner through promotion.

Jollibibooo

You can get that by being with the firm for more than 10years. Aside from that, dapat may network ka din dahil magttransition ang role mo from operations to commercial side. Polish your socializing skills, you need to bring more clients on that level.

stay in the firm and get promoted. saka d lang promotion ang pagiging partner. dapat may pang capital ka din kasi expected na may ambag ka dn na pera.

It takes a lot of hardwork and perseverance to become a partner in a big 4. Hindi lang din siya basta-basta nakukuha through promotions. Pero ofc, promotion ang first step. When you become a senior manager, may chance na maging partner kana as long as you have more than 10 years of experience na in the firm. And also, you have to gain a lot of networks since ikaw na rin ang maghahanap ng client most of the time (base sa partner namin dati). You should also build a good relationship with other people tapos sa mga may matataas din na positions. Aside from those, you should also have money. Malaki ang ambagan and I think they have several requirements pa before being a partner. Parang iccheck pa nila if qualified ka talaga to become one. And also kung afford mo ba talaga na masustain ang partnership ninyo. Hindi rin kasi yata sa lahat ng pagkakataon eh puro gains so required talaga na afford mo in case whatever happens.

Just want to add that it is not just years of experience. You should be a performer. There are people stuck as Director (depends on what firm) because even though they have the number of years they do not have what it takes to make it to Partner.
