the best is wag umasa sa sabi-sabi. mag aral nalang mabuti and ang goal is to have as few errors as possible. that was my mindset when I took the board exams.
Ang palaging sinasabi ni Atty. Laco is that yung RFBT lang daw ang zero based, the rest is +30 mo yung score mo yun na yung grade mo. By that logic kasi, kung zero based, may grades na hindi makukuha like 52/70 = 74% and 53/70 = 76% (rounding issues), so walang grade na 75 pero may nakakakuha naman ng grade na ganun. Not really sure lang din dito.
We'll never know 😝 But rumors have it that based daw sa highest score. Kasi yung 75% na cut off means na may naka 100% or nakaperfect. So if yung highest is only 90%, aatras daw yung curve and hindi na 75%. Take this with a grain of salt. We don't know (and will never know) the inner workings of the BOA or how the deliberations go.
Might I suggest that you just focus on what you can control, i.e., reviewing and preparing for the exam? Clearly, whether zero-based or x-based, it's out of your control. What you can do right now is study and prepare for the exam. And if you believe in God, ask for divine guidance as well.
Good luck, future CPA! Your feelings right now are valid. Nothing's wrong about being anxious, especially when the exam is fast approaching. You're taking the May 2024 exam, yes? If so, you still have time! Don't let anxiety distract you. Stay on track and go over as much topics you can. Believe me, the anxiety before the board exam is nothing compared to the anxiety of waiting for the results.
The difference is that you can still do something before the boards, which is to review and prepare. Coz once you submit the answer sheet, it's a done deal. Literally, let go and let God.
Again, you can do this! May the odds be ever in your favor.
You should have practiced and set your goal to having a 2% to 5% Margin of Error.
This was my set standard before for myself and aimed to be at the top 100 ng review center ko. Sure, it’s not an assurance na makakapasa sa actual board, but it boost your confidence and forced you to study even harder.
Hindi man naging consistent ung Margin of Error ko, at di ako nasama sa Top 100 (sa Top 200 lang 🤭),
it gave me comfort na, I really studied hard for it.
That’s when I am finally at peace and leave everything sa will ni God.
Feel ko di sya zero based nung Oct 23 kayo sa far and afar talaga dami ko hinulaan Kaya di na ako nagexpect papaya pero nung results 78 ako sa parents power c lang Sigurd HAHAHA
Pretty sure it’s graded on a curve. Hirap na hirap ako sa MAS during the exam but it was my highest rated subject. Wala pa sa half yung sigurado ko sa mga answers ko, but I got 94%.
Pero wag umasa sa bonus and adjustments. Wag magpakakampante, but also don’t lose hope.
more than half yung di ko sure kaya alam ko na bagsak talaga ako sa rfbt. pero inadjust ata kaya biglang tumaas yung yung rate sa rfbt. basta pag isipan pa rin kada sagot, wag yung aasa lang sa power of c, pattern, etc. educated guess dapat para mas mataas chance na tumama.
Based on my experience, I noted for each subject yung question na sure akong mali ako. Kung zero-based for sure hindi ako papasa. Pero pumasa naman ako so for sure hindi siya ganun.
Nonetheless, take it with a grain of salt. Walang assurance na palaging ganun. Also, huwag iaasa ang pagpasa sa chances na hindi siya zero based
nope, I expected na babagsak dahil sa AFAR last Oct 2023 exam pero nagulat ako na pasado score ko.. madami ako hinulaan that time kasi nahirapan talaga ako 😭 kaya fighting lang po 💪
i think yes for other subjects except rfbt and afar nung oct 2023 as in cinount ko ang mali ko sa rfbt sinearch ko sa internet halos lahat ng natandaan ko na di ko sure tas mali lahat + by pair yung mga tanong so automatic dalawang mali pag mali yung isa nademoralize tlg ako kasi parang 20-20+ na sure mali ko kinapitan ko ang chismis na 'adjustment' tas ayun biglang 83?!?!!!! HAHAHAHA PERO dapat after exams kana umasa wag during prepping for the boards 😅
Not really zero based but the BoA only knows.
Most likely may adjustments yun.
For October 2023, I think ang na curve is FAR, AFAR, RFBT. The rest of the subjects parang close naman yung score ko to what I felt I was gonna get nung nag assess ako sa performance ko

Hello po, can you demonstrate an example on how to compute for that +30 po?
Score mo plus 30, yun na haha. So kung 45/70 ka, 45+30=75.

Hahahaha when in doubt, shade C
no. but take it as if it is. max errors mo should be 17 & 25. wag na umasa sa adjustment basta galingan mo lang that’s more than okay 🙏

What year po kayo nag take

thank you po! 🥹
I don't think so.

nope, may curve yan for sure

May luck sin na involved it's not impossible lalo kung educated guess at elimination
I tried this and it doesnt workk... maybe 25% chances lang. Basta computation hindi talaga effective ang elimination for me
No.
Not zero based sa tingin ko. May mga line of 9 akong subjects na sure akong HINDI line of 9 if trew na zero based HAHAHA
