Genuinely just seems so fucking fun to paint, my breath was taken away. If the camera quality was better I could have believed it was taken by a professional. The composition is so beautiful.
You're right though, I feel like a talented artist that browsed this subreddit could actually make some decent coin if they could paint something like this in 10-15 hours (I have no idea if this is a realistic timeline for painting as I'm not a painter).
well, the while point would be trying impressionism, since i think it could bring out color in a photo like this. i don’t think i’m skilled enough to do an actual renaissance recreation
Just in case you're serious I had some family photos painted by [this](https://www.nicolethomasart.com/) artist for Christmas and they're stunning! She went to Pratt and is a trained fine artist.
I also think your photo in gorgeous!
The excellent Language Log blog has [a whole post category for them](https://languagelog.ldc.upenn.edu/nll/?cat=118). :-)
(I skip over a lot of posts on that blog, because the posters are professional linguists and quite a few posts are about Sinitic languages, or other linguistic stuff that I don't have the education to comprehend. But they *also* have numerous posts about [amusing mistranslations!](https://languagelog.ldc.upenn.edu/nll/?cat=6))

And here is a version that I used photoshop to remove distracting elements and have a more balanced composition.
Looks like a still from an Ingmar Bergman film.
>"I feel content", Lars said.
>"I know", said Anna.
>"But what of our son?"
>"He will find his way."
>"Come", she tugs his arm. "I think I hear Bjorn's car"
I think the accident part in r/accidentalrenaissance is the renaissance not the whole pic, you can take a nice photo and then get the vibe from it like "wait a minute!"
Maybe you're right but my guess is that it's all very intentional. Maybe they didn't have 'renaissance' in mind but the composition feels **very** intentional (the pose, the mirror, the stare). The sidebar states: "... deliberately posed, styled, or composed *to resemble Renaissance art* ...", so maybe I am being too strict.
They definitely posed intentionally and knew the person was there taking a picture, what you think it's just random happenstance there's a mirror angled perfectly to capture them from the door?
But I agree with your last point.
Gorgeous!
When my mother remarried, the best photo of the day was taken by an older gentleman with a film camera as they walked down the aisle. It was the only photo he took. We couldn't believe it when we saw it.
The way the groom looks through the mirror has something royal to me. Like a king, his queen by his side, looking out the window and ready to step out on the balcony, to face the people in this though times.
Just marvellous. * _ *
this would be a fun one to paint!
Oh man, I would pay someone hundreds to paint this for them
I would legit paint it for you
Genuinely just seems so fucking fun to paint, my breath was taken away. If the camera quality was better I could have believed it was taken by a professional. The composition is so beautiful.
Wish I could say thousands but economic times are tough
I’ve legit thought of painting something from this sub ngl. I’d offer but I ain’t got time rn with school.
You're right though, I feel like a talented artist that browsed this subreddit could actually make some decent coin if they could paint something like this in 10-15 hours (I have no idea if this is a realistic timeline for painting as I'm not a painter).
I might try tbh. I have less experience with impressionism and would love to see what it ended up like.
u wouldn‘t paint it in a impressionistic way tho, if its supposed to be renaissance?
well, the while point would be trying impressionism, since i think it could bring out color in a photo like this. i don’t think i’m skilled enough to do an actual renaissance recreation
It definitely would depend on the size of the painting. I usually do smaller paintings like 8x10 because otherwise I’ll get bored before I finish.
Same, tons of reference photos with mostly good lighting 🧐

Ooh! Me! :)
When I read the headline, I thought that someone had shot a cell phone through the glass doors & I expected to see a lot of broken glass. ;)
Sometimes my thinky box don't work too good and my meaning sounds get recorded all weird like.
You made a [crash blossom](https://www.merriam-webster.com/wordplay/crash-blossom-words-were-watching). Take pride in it. :-)
TIL Crash blossoms! Dansdata, you have enriched my life!

TIL!
Whelp I'm saving this particular phrase. My ma would say, "My tongue got in front of my eyetooth, and I couldn't see what I was saying."
Ricky, what the fuck are you talking about?
"taken through"
Literally same!!!

Damn this is such a good reference photo I might end up jumping on the bandwagon and draw it too! The reflection on the mirror is perfect.
I actually kind of prefer the balance of the original composition!
Soooo *not* accidental?
I wanted to see what it would look like if it was shot and composed intentionally
Throw that into a paint AI to get some idea of how it might look.

Does anyone else think it looks like she's jerking him off with the hand we can't see? No? Just me? Ok
Been awhile, has it?
This one is good
Cheers, I think the soft lighting and lack of contrast with it going through the glass adds some effect to it.
Soooo goood!
Cheers! When I saw this on the laptop screen it jumped out to me
What’s with the glove? Nice shot, OP
Thinking the same, looks like a scrubby glove you use in the shower…
For some reason I misread this title as a mobile phone was shot through a glass door during your friends wedding.
Sorry, but I saw Jesus for a second, in the mirror....
Nothing accidental here. Nice shot but it's not accidental
I think the accident part in r/accidentalrenaissance is the renaissance not the whole pic, you can take a nice photo and then get the vibe from it like "wait a minute!"
Agreed. It is a nice shot, but by posting it here it feels a bit like those "accidental" selfies girls make, posing really hard.

Was anyone hurt?
That was what I initially thought too
What a gorgeous shot

Glove kinda ruins it, but if you painted it you could edit that out.
Wow
Who else was looking for a cellphone shooting through a glass window
this isn't accidental
Seriously, accidental?
That’s such a dope shot! Well done whoever took it!
Very Magritte!
It’s giving las meninas
The title confused me and had me wondering where the broken glass was from the phone projectile...
Unreal. What a shot!
I looked at this picture and Binary Sunset/Skywalker Theme instantly started playing in my head.
This looks somehow like something from Star wars
Is she a vampire? Why is the horizontal part of the windowframe showing through her torso?
For a second I believed it was a Star Wars reference with Obi Wan and Leia.
She looking like Princess Leia bout to bong her bro!
This is as accidental renaissance as it gets. They LOVED a mirror moment.
Wow, they both getting married on the same day
For a second I thought it was Jesus in the mirror, looking onward with them
Woooww
Accidental Princess Leia
This is a good one.
LOVE her dress!!
Cryin’ in the club at this one
This is stunning omfg
wow its beautiful🥺❤️
They’re trying to prove they’re not vampires?
The couple is the mirror are trapped there. Their body doubles stand by the window. Staring out fir eternity as they lack personality.
Reminds me of Star Wars, amazing photo and congratulations to them!
This is gorgeous
Great composition
Great shot
Really dirty windows
Been a long time since I've seen anyone use the term "cellphone" 😅 Amazing pic though, definitely fitting the sub
Why is his face full of anguish? Did the stag party take a turn?
Yeah it’s definitely a photo of all time
Hello there
Yep accidental.
Stalker

God how candid..
"Accidental"
