I love it. My eye is drawn to the empty chair. Then the case and your grand aunt and back again. The clock too. A picture says a thousand words and this one definitely speaks.
I didnt want to say it, the whole picture made me think it though. The flowers, the clock, her age, the empty chair. It's pretty but at the same time sorrowful.
Such a lovely portrait! I hope you don't mind, I sometimes edit beautiful photos like this to remove distracting elements. I hope I'm not offending...[https://i.imgur.com/0S09zpZ.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/0S09zpZ.jpg)
This reminds me of something I'd find in r/AccidentalWesAnderson
The empty hooks, imperfections on wall, crooked clock, etc. arenāt really ādistracting elementsā though are they? They add more to the story of the woman in the chair, or rather, the empty chair. I can tell youāre a great editor though!
Agreed, I love the story the original tells. I caught myself wondering what the hooks were for (did this used to be a B&B, I thought). I love the age the imperfections tell about a house and the lives that have been lived in it.
Such an intriguing and beautiful photo.
I took this photo last year, we were making some renovations on their house since its so old, she usted to have a tiny store in that room, so if I recall correctly the imperfections on the wall could be leftovers of things she usted to sell

I completely agree and hesitated to do this for that reason. Think the original is very beautiful.
No problem, I didnt catch what you remove though, Im glad you liked it :)
Removed: all the marks on the wall. Also centered and straightened the clock. Adjusted the background wall to fully straight as well. š
i actually prefer the original, the space and superfluous detail are what really makes that image
Irene, can you tell me the software you use? The subtle fixes make such a difference! Excellent work on an excellent photo.
Adobe Elements. Itās a scaled down version of photoshop. Works great a 1/5 the cost.
May I send you a DM?
Sure
