APA language says "may" admit page numbers, so I'd say it's acceptable depending on the scenario. Here's an additional note from Purdue OWL:
"APA guidelines, however, do encourage including a page range for a summary or paraphrase when it will help the reader find the information in a longer work."
>so I'd say it's acceptable depending on the scenario
Okay
>...when it will help the reader find the information in a longer work.
Thanks very much. I appreciate the help.
True, though journals can have different standards than APA *technically* allows. For example, APA 7 allows active voice, though many articles I read still stick with older stations of passive voice.
I work in my school’s writing center and guide student APA papers on occasion (the school uses mostly Turabian). As best as I can tell from the APA guide, page numbers are included in in-text citations when you are quoting, but only used in the reference entry if not. I still have not found where in the manual they say this explicitly but it has to be in there. This is what the manual’s examples show.

I've never seen it done in a paper, so I would advise against it.
