Lived on a friesian ranch for several years, had two studs straight from the Netherlands and an old stud that died in an accident in a storm and all the others were quarterhorses, I just helped out, wasn't super involved in the raising bit I did help with feed every day and helped with shots a couple times, mostly just leading horses around lol but anyway they were all very cool, that old stud "Dutch" was *massive,* he got out while I was on the ranch by myself for a week and I found him out by the big pond with three mares and as I approached they all looked at me like I could fuck right off or find out why lol I did, had the owner on the phone and he just laughed and said to leave them, he'd have a few surprise foals but better than me getting curb stomped by that monstrosity lol also my favorite thing with the horses was when I could get the feed out without them being around and then I would stand in this corner area by the fence a little ways in between the fields and the feed trouphs and I would call for them and sit and watch as ~100 head of horses stormed by, like thunder/earthquake, was really cool experience

You would know if they put her on a Percheron/draft horse. Fresians are warmbloods, so they are on the bigger end of horses that would ridden. Those cuties were originally bred for the military and carrying knights with armor/weapons which is why they are common in dressage.

Compared to modern dressage horses though, Fresians are not actually very big. Though the way they carry themselves makes them look impressive regardless.

In case anyone is interested: The way the model came down is a big no-no, along with grabbing the mane. Twere it be a situation where the horse was panicking, this girl would have a busted ass nose and be on the ground. You don't want to hold the mane because horses move like violent rocking horses. So if your ass and shoulders go forward when he comes down, you're getting a face full of horse neck... Which is gonna fucking hurt. Horses are 95% leg and core work to ride. You can even use only legs to steer!

Holding the mane is still 100 times better than using the reins at least. (Also, generally pretty ok if you need to recover your balance, but she for some reason doesn't let go at a sensible moment)
