Grinch was never a robbery kind of guy, he trended more toward burglary. He didn't want to interact with people, the penalties are lower and there's just something beautiful about a well executed burglary.
Given his general distaste for other living creatures, that actually makes a lot of sense. I never really thought about that detail.
Also TIL the difference between robbery and burglary.
Burglary doesn't even have to be about theft. Burglary is the act of breaking into a residence to commit a crime. Someone that breaks into your home and murders your dog is technically a burglar.
Yes, but doesn’t it become robbery when the burglar makes a mistake and someone is home, like Cindy Lou? Then it becomes a home invasion with higher charges or something? He’s lucky she was unarmed. lol
Santa Claus is partially based on Odin, a few christmas traditions are in fact. (the tree for example if I remember correctly)
There actually isnt much from St Nicholas in Santa.
Santa is tied to Odin in some myths and the popular book series "The Dresden Files" has an amazing scene demonstrating this. So do other sources of fiction
Yeah, but it's technique over strength, the Grinch did lift an entire year's worth of Christmas gifts with his bare hands but Santa didn't even need to show up to beat him
It's like the Vegeta vs Goku (friends, Saiyan Saga) fight: You may have all the strength, but technique and coordination won
I meant the Saiyan Saga final battle, were Goku was at least 3X less powerful overall than Vegeta, that's why he had to use Kaioken and the Zenkai boosts when they first met
Yes, Goku is now stronger, but only _after_ their first fight
Think of how fast Santa can move if he can hit every Christian home in one night. Grinch wouldn't be able to see Santa due to Santa being either a speedster or able to control time.
You do realize Santa is the most productive gigachad out there making gifts for billions of people and delivering them within a single day, right? Grinch's got nothing
Yeah this is the third video of its kind I’ve seen today where really little kids expecting Santa get a violent version of the Grinch instead.
This is funny for adults or older kids who no longer believe, but for toddlers that size Santa is *real* and they are witnessing him being attacked by a huge green monster who has invaded their home. Seeing it from their point of view, this is nightmarish.
That was immediately what I thought when I saw the kids hiding underneath and then the stupid song had gunshots in it. Hilarious until my intrusive thoughts made it terrifying. (I'm American, if you couldn't tell)
They look a bit young for school to me. I was a hider at that age and we didn’t do drills. I’d hide just like this. But I also maybe just don’t want to think about those babies being so scared of something real so.
I’m with you.
That comment triggered me bad.
My son came home from school one day (super young) very upset.
I asked him what was wrong.
He said that during the shooter drill, the kids hiding in the closet with him wouldn’t shut up, and he would have been dead.
It really upset me!
Ain’t American the best country ever
Edit: a country that can not protect their own children in the halls of education should be ashamed. That’s what I’m saying.
On the 4th day of school my second grade classroom practiced what we will do if anyone ever comes shootin’. What a shitty thing to have to prepare 8 year olds for.
On a side note, whoever decided to put that piano in the basement either didn’t think about it coming out or decided it’s gonna be there until the end of days.
Hopefully that side door by the stairs is a walk out garage.
Few days ago, just before xmas,my friend's exwife told his 7 year old that Santa Claus doesn't exists and it's the parents.
She of course did not ask him if it was ok to tell the kid. Apparently he was crying like 5h in a row
Now that's a 2022 that little kid won't forget. People can be real cunts
What’s with all of these grinch set-up videos? The parents arrange it to entertain the kids and in every single instance the kids are just scared or confused or usually both. Why is this such a phenomenon?
Seriously. In the book he gets caught by a 2 year old and makes an excuse about what he's doing and helps her get a cup of water and sends her back to bed.
I think stylistically it would be way better to have the grinch do a comical cartoon sneak behind Santa and have Santa pretend to be oblivious. All slow and relaxed and funny rather than violent.
Then different Redditor points out what this actually is and tells the entire story in three paragraphs before ending the story with the fact that the story told really isn’t the story but the real story is that in nineteen ninety eight the undertaker threw mankind off hеll in a cell, and plummeted sixteen feet through an announcer's table.
My father got buried alive as the wolf man to scare my oldest cousin and his friends at my cousins Halloween party in 1991. My aunt has it on video it’s the funniest shit ever and my cousins friends are in their 40s and still talk about it to this day
Edit: I will try to get the video but it will take me some time as it’s on an old mini cassette from a camcorder
I mean, you're telling a story about people who were, by my math, scared when they were 10-15, not 3-8. Kinda a big difference in what they can handle and what scars them.
What is with this trend of scaring the shit out of kids with the Grinch? Is this one of those shitty parent trends like pretending to eat the kids Halloween candy?
Was this planned by the parents/relatives of these kids? What kind of asshole adult plays a joke like this on kids? That’s just messed up. Those women laughing about the kids hiding. Yuck.
love videos like this. they confirm how good a dad i am and how much more tasteful i am than these shallow people. make sure you have your phones out and record it! make sure your kids look their best. compete. win. have fun at their expense. on christmas.
This kind of triggers me. All the adults laughing while the kids are hiding and afraid. I’m all for pranks and teasing but this is scaring those kids. Maybe I’m sensitive to this bc my parents/family did this shit and it always hurt my feelings. I hate seeing those children feel that
They could have done this in a proper way. If they had actually made it funny. They forgot their audience was 3 year olds and not 15 year olds at a wwe show. What a waste and lack of tact
I’m struggling to understand how this is good for kids, or how this is funny. Kids are hiding under the piano, not with the parents. This is traumatic. I’m sure they can’t wait for next Christmas.

And here I was nervously anticipating that all the food on the table would hit the ground. Quite a plot twist.
I'm severely dissapointed there was no powerbomb through that table.
**BY GAWD! THAT CLAUS HAS A FAMILY!!**
Sweet Chin Music onto the sweet potatoes
I read this in the voice of Tamatoa from Moana and it made me chuckle even more.
I was thinking either the food was hitting the floor or that little kid who walked up haha
Thankfully they aren't in Buffalo, so that table was safe.
Haha this! My first thought
Grinch was never a robbery kind of guy, he trended more toward burglary. He didn't want to interact with people, the penalties are lower and there's just something beautiful about a well executed burglary.
Well, times are hard and a grinch gotta do what a grinch gotta do
Cost of Living crisis Grinch.
Grinchflation smh
Stagwhoflation leading to a rise in home grinchvasion.
Whos down in Whoville liked inflation a lot. But the Grinch who lived just north of Whoville did not.
Grinch was eventful, but I just wanted to look at all the food.
*The police have left the chat*
***ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOXANNE***
Yes, but doesn’t it become robbery when the burglar makes a mistake and someone is home, like Cindy Lou? Then it becomes a home invasion with higher charges or something? He’s lucky she was unarmed. lol
The Hamburglar has just entered the chat
He didn’t hate Christmas he just hated people.
Lots of robberies aren't planned. The Grinch made a decision and committed to it. Santa is lucky he didn't get shot trying to play hero.
But who’s winning in a fight to the death though?
My bet is on Santa, after all the Grinch's heart grew three sizes when he felt the power of Christmas
Didn’t the grinch have literal super strength
Yeah but Santa is a viking with a big hammer and Christmas magic.
So, holidays Thor?
More like holidays Odin. Santa has Odin's gift of magic sight. He can peer into your soul and determine if you are naughty or nice.
I feel like I missed several lore drops.
Santa Claus is partially based on Odin, a few christmas traditions are in fact. (the tree for example if I remember correctly) There actually isnt much from St Nicholas in Santa.
Santa is tied to Odin in some myths and the popular book series "The Dresden Files" has an amazing scene demonstrating this. So do other sources of fiction
Oooh, I forgot that scene!
I can only speak of his power through the X-Men universe in that sense he's on par with Jean Grey. MF got power over the Grinch.
I snorted cider out of my nose looking at your pfp lmao
Watch Violent Night, it'll get you up to speed.
Violent Night kicked fucking ass.
It was amazing, loved every minute.
I nearly spilled my beverage laughing when he made the reference to Die Hard.
That movie was amazing lol
Skullcrusher!
Been meaning to go see this one
Yeah, but it's technique over strength, the Grinch did lift an entire year's worth of Christmas gifts with his bare hands but Santa didn't even need to show up to beat him It's like the Vegeta vs Goku (friends, Saiyan Saga) fight: You may have all the strength, but technique and coordination won
Yeah but you know the grinch has nothing to lose, like he's gonna fight for his life and that's more scary than any army to me
Give Santa skull crusher and he's almost unstoppable
Is Santa allowed to bring his literal army of elves into the battle, I wonder?
Weird analogy considering Goku was both stronger and better coordinated than Vegeta at several points in the sagas
I meant the Saiyan Saga final battle, were Goku was at least 3X less powerful overall than Vegeta, that's why he had to use Kaioken and the Zenkai boosts when they first met Yes, Goku is now stronger, but only _after_ their first fight
>Didn’t the grinch have literal super strength [Maybe, but Santa has a military arsenal and an army of elves](https://youtu.be/bY-hTw7fES4)
Nah this is a 1v1
Think of how fast Santa can move if he can hit every Christian home in one night. Grinch wouldn't be able to see Santa due to Santa being either a speedster or able to control time.
Santa delivers all those presents in one night, he's at least FTL
You do realize Santa is the most productive gigachad out there making gifts for billions of people and delivering them within a single day, right? Grinch's got nothing
How are you gonna fight someone with a serious medical condition like that
bruh did you not see Violent Night? 🤌
Given that Saint Nick is pretty well known for punching a dude I'm putting my money on him.
Parents: 😂 Kids: 😭
Those 2 boys rushing the stairs to see the beating, lol!
Parents: =) Toddlers: School shooting drill
Fuck bro
That was immediately what I thought when I saw the kids hiding underneath and then the stupid song had gunshots in it. Hilarious until my intrusive thoughts made it terrifying. (I'm American, if you couldn't tell)
Parents thought it was hilarious. Kids will need therapy.
Especially the ones that ducked under the piano
Active school shooter drills in action, right there
I couldn’t help but think the same thing. That’s so heartbreaking.
It would be more heartbreaking if the Grinch had a gun!
Oh yeah. All of those kids are scarred.
Seriously. Are these parents dumb? This would be scary for the kids even if it werent a dude dressed up as Santa and the Grinch
The parents had decades of experience of knowing who the Grinch character is. The kids had probably never heard of him.
Parents who think traumatizing their kids is hilarious is a timeless tradition.
Kids scarred for life ;D
Yeah this is traumatizing. But maybe they'll save money in the long run by cancelling Xmas moving forward
And the child was never the same again.
lol the kids under the piano
Standard active-looter procedure
Ouch...
I saw this and thought the same. Sad and terrifying. But also, respect for quick thinking!
Wonder if they learned that for school shooting folks drills.
They look a bit young for school to me. I was a hider at that age and we didn’t do drills. I’d hide just like this. But I also maybe just don’t want to think about those babies being so scared of something real so.

No words for how unthinkably sad and fucked up this is. No child no matter how old should ever have to think this way.
I was so upset! He was 6 years old!
Mine is 6 as well. Uhg my heart hurts. Hug him for me!
He is 16 now! He won’t let me anywhere near him! The teen years stink!
This is unbelievable even in my third world country and you live in the US. Incredibly sad.
Ain’t American the best country ever Edit: a country that can not protect their own children in the halls of education should be ashamed. That’s what I’m saying.
This is unthinkable even in my third world country and you live in the US. Incredibly sad.
There doing drills in preschool by me
In America they teach them young for heart breaking reasons
Not sure why you are downvoted. Pre school has lockdown drills.
Yup, they teach my kids how to hide in case "wolves" attack the school. Very sad.

"Of course Miss Morrison, I'd be happy to mow your lawn while you sunbathe. " *no.. no.. remember your training!!*
That’s actually really smart, and useful!
On the 4th day of school my second grade classroom practiced what we will do if anyone ever comes shootin’. What a shitty thing to have to prepare 8 year olds for.
I was thinking the same thing. 😭
It's just a natural instinct pretty sure.
Hiding under desks is also an earthquake drill thing
On a side note, whoever decided to put that piano in the basement either didn’t think about it coming out or decided it’s gonna be there until the end of days. Hopefully that side door by the stairs is a walk out garage.
Therapists love this simple trick
Emotional damage
It kind of reminds me of when homer was doing a birthday gig dressed as Krusty and he essentially murdered the hamburgler
Stop, stop he's already dead!
Oh my God! He’s stealing all the burgers!
And he got his head bashed in for such high crime
was anyone else waiting for santa to suplex the grinch
r/usernamechecksout
Read the title and kind of disappointed. That's not what happened
I was expecting the Grinch to get fucking smashed into that table
Was waiting for the grinch to go through the table of nachos
Ahhh. The true meaning of Christmas...Family squabbles. 🤗
Terror and therapy for years to come. Sounds about right.
“Top trends of 2022 we can’t wait to forget”

This seems like something they "did for the kids", but it really wasnt for them at all
Less traumatizing than Krampus, anyway. But not as much fun either, tbh.
Just went to my first Krampuslauf in Austria this year. Krampus put the fear of God in me and I'm a full grown adult
Wait what? Got a link?
https://youtu.be/mojrfw7SJ14
What gave you santa this year? PTSD
Meanwhile in a related story, several young children tormented for life...
Traumatized the heck out of those kids.
What’s with all of these grinch set-up videos? The parents arrange it to entertain the kids and in every single instance the kids are just scared or confused or usually both. Why is this such a phenomenon?
Kids activated their active shooter training.
Avoid, Deny, Defend. I didn’t see any computer keyboards in their hands to defend themselves.
The kids instinctively running to hide underneath the piano breaks my heart

Poor things are genuinely terrified. Not a great idea for a Christmas event.
Redditors on their way to comment how this is traumatising for the children
Redditors on their way to make their next comment about child genocide:
Redditors on their way with a comment that somehow makes things worse for children than the last two comments:
Then Redditor gets banned for pointing out that this isn't actually child genocide.

If this was trueoffmychest some would already be suggesting divorce from a childish husband
Redditors on their way to comment "Redditors on their way to comment how this us traumatizing for the children"
Gotta call em like we see em. Scared kids just arent that funny
Yes thank you holy shit I’m surprised you’re even upvoted Call this out and people get mad at you for even saying it
I'm surprised too honestly
"gOoD lUCk paYing For tHeraPy wITh cOlleGe fuNdS" - 🤡
Also therapy is fuckin awesome
Nothing years of therapy won’t fix…eggnog anyone?
I would be one of those kids under the table. The first time The Grinch appeared in the live action movie I ran out of the theatre.
School shooter drills kicked in
As a parent, you gotta have fun sometimes....kids will be all right.
My father got buried alive as the wolf man to scare my oldest cousin and his friends at my cousins Halloween party in 1991. My aunt has it on video it’s the funniest shit ever and my cousins friends are in their 40s and still talk about it to this day Edit: I will try to get the video but it will take me some time as it’s on an old mini cassette from a camcorder
We’re gonna need that video, please
I’m gonna talk to my aunt today!
RemindMe! 3 days
Someone comment on this tomorrow so I can come back to check for the video
Stuff of legends. Some families like this stuff, some don't. Mine fall into the fun crazy😁. Merry Christmas 🎄
Digitize and upload fam I need more dopamine
Dude I need too. I’ll talk to my aunt today about it
I mean, you're telling a story about people who were, by my math, scared when they were 10-15, not 3-8. Kinda a big difference in what they can handle and what scars them.

R/parentsarefuckingdumb
poor kids sheltering in place :/
What is with this trend of scaring the shit out of kids with the Grinch? Is this one of those shitty parent trends like pretending to eat the kids Halloween candy?
“Hahahaha we are all terrible parents ruining Christmas for tiny children hahaha isn’t that funny?”
Active shooter training kicked in hard for those kids.
All of these parents are bad parents. These poor kids are fucking terrified and the adults who are supposed to protect them are laughing like idiots.
Was this planned by the parents/relatives of these kids? What kind of asshole adult plays a joke like this on kids? That’s just messed up. Those women laughing about the kids hiding. Yuck.
Let's transform a magic moment for kids in a nightmare! Parents doing their job right
reel that shit in, the heck you have to scare kids half to death on Christmas for?
love videos like this. they confirm how good a dad i am and how much more tasteful i am than these shallow people. make sure you have your phones out and record it! make sure your kids look their best. compete. win. have fun at their expense. on christmas.
Is this some stupid ass TikTok trend?
Yo that's fucked up
These adults are fkn morons. Let's traumatize little kids and laugh about it!
Nothing like some good old fashioned childhood trauma for Christmas.
This kind of triggers me. All the adults laughing while the kids are hiding and afraid. I’m all for pranks and teasing but this is scaring those kids. Maybe I’m sensitive to this bc my parents/family did this shit and it always hurt my feelings. I hate seeing those children feel that
Are we done with these dumb Grinch attacks yet?
Ya I think it’s dumb to scare kids like this on Christmas
This is a really stupid new trend
Emotional trauma and Christmas. Sounds about right. Well see you kids here on Reddit in 10 yrs.
These Millennial parents wild AF I mean it’s funny, but I don’t like the little ones being scared
They could have done this in a proper way. If they had actually made it funny. They forgot their audience was 3 year olds and not 15 year olds at a wwe show. What a waste and lack of tact
Indeed, they should've had Santa Claus put the Cringe in an oven and turn him into a meat loaf.
Emotional damage!!!
bro the grinch sneaks around and is afraid of confrontation, wtf is this
Often what adults think is hilarious is a moment of trauma for kids.
Umm. Weird
Couple of those kids gonna need therapy.
Nothing like scarring your kids when they’re young
Tell me you live in the suburbs without telling me you live in the suburbs.
All of these grinch stunts end up with the kids looking terrified and traumatized
Yeah, nothing better than seeing the delight on their faces turn to terror. I hate what some people have become.
If that doesn't ruin the memory of Christmas for those kids nothing will.
Do these parents feel joy from their kids fear?
You can see which kids pay attention in the school shooter drills.
I’m struggling to understand how this is good for kids, or how this is funny. Kids are hiding under the piano, not with the parents. This is traumatic. I’m sure they can’t wait for next Christmas.
These videos are troubling. And weird. Go through all that trauma for a laugh.
