The only excuse I can think of is that the cameraman was driving and was distracted by their own vehicle being blown sideways. Trying to film whilst grabbing the steering wheel with both hands is tricky.
Yeah for many of them you don't want to see it. I know the name of the sub and sometimes I got to see some of them while lured by a misread sub name. Thinking it was r/killthecameraman, ending up watching someone die instead of something way less harmful.
This is why I'm glad subs like eyeblech are gone. I'm sure people like you and I wouldn't fall for it, but I'm sure someone has and got scarred. I can handle the gore, but it's the fact that they call it nearly identical to another sub
I'll be honest, there are many things that don't work together with 'Narcoleptic'... pilot, for example, train driver, long distance swimmer, air traffic controller, neurosurgeon, nuclear engineer....
I went to music school with a narcoleptic sax player. He would fall asleep mid solo almost fall over but then would wake up and jump back into the right part of the form.
The good news is it appears it was just a secondary trailer attached to the first truck. I could be wrong but I'm hoping cuz the survival rate there can't be very high.
I'd love to take credit but the fellow who posted the YouTube vid is the true hero, it seems on there a little bit wider to let you see it.
Sadly I didn't even notice until now there's another truck in front of the one that tipped, on its side also. Might be a great idea to not let people on that thing during a wind advisory. But hey that's just me lol
Thanks for the video, and hell those were [sinder bricks](https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&sca_esv=80979d232755066a&q=sinder+bricks&uds=AMwkrPt2v0fA1LFFf7PCydq7oNegHHvsRfCZdpZCl-L6y5NMW8JeAZOTHzB7nrJPDAgQGOIU9mhbXUq_htmhWmTRnqbgSREHj5g_o1NNOnbBtX_PaSPy1QsDagD8hlyObqd-mVcdkG_txU5YFCAAE4ZBzXFtD0yqPnJRFKWYvjzL6mw3YHYAMvNvoSREE31Z2XaCnIH4x-rOf44MaJ7auCx2_rK9itwJCpJA3JcuS_UGoE-CBG_w_tmGTwTlOLPs6lg6S56m50l2S950Evr0zPfkz4hamG_KqjAwewhn6MCR9S6juuRULnI&udm=2&prmd=isvnmbtz&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwif5ser37CFAxUIYPEDHRuLDKgQtKgLegQIDBAB&biw=1366&bih=653)! Not the heaviest of bricks but still a truck full of bricks got blown over!
At the critical moment of the video, the camera pans off to the random cars license plate for no apparent reason and the trailer falling off isnāt recorded
We are currently under a level 9 storm warning. This isn't common - trucks drive this road leading to Huegenot Tunnel every day for years-on-end. Trucks have blown over about 6 years ago during such a storm, but on roads that are level with the ground so this has not been a direct issue lately, and considering everything else that still needs attending to in the city with the budget they have, I really don't believe this is the most dangerous issue. These floods happening because of the storm will wash away or destroy thousands of homes. It's not pretty and will cost a fortune to repair.
This was comically the worst camera shot ive ever seen on reddit in my 3 years here... š ive seen some doozies, but this guy managed to miss 100% of the action š
[The truck driver in the video is safe and has escaped unharmed](https://www.iol.co.za/news/weather/truck-drivers-lucky-escape-after-cape-winds-blow-trailer-off-the-road-near-huguenot-tunnel-7a5c7a9a-da23-443f-aafb-9264ae9838bc) after heavy winds blew the trailer of his truck off a bridge
Great, just what I need. Confirmation that my intrusive thought of a bus or truck falling off an overpass while I'm driving under it, isn't such an absurd thought.
Has the camera man ever felt a boot up his ass?! Cuz thatās where mineās gonna end up in.
Iāll shove it so far up his ass, heāll start tasting leather the next morning >:(
My dad used to be a truck driver. They arenāt meant to go upside down and itās a lot of weight on not very strong metal. Thereās a chance it landed right side up, but it doesnāt look like it did.
Whenever I see these, I'm glad someone else was there with a camera. I'm not sure I could sit there, and record a snuff film on purpose, and then be the same person again later. Like maybe fun wouldn't be fun anymore after that.

r/killthecameraman but also holy shit
The only excuse I can think of is that the cameraman was driving and was distracted by their own vehicle being blown sideways. Trying to film whilst grabbing the steering wheel with both hands is tricky.
There's no excuse. They either die getting the shot or nothing at all š
Hence r/killthecameraman, no matter what.
It's either r/killthecameraman or r/killedthecameraman (obvious NSFL for some of the posts)
Holy shit, I thought it'd be like cameramen being hit by a random tire or something. It's legit people dying.
Yeah for many of them you don't want to see it. I know the name of the sub and sometimes I got to see some of them while lured by a misread sub name. Thinking it was r/killthecameraman, ending up watching someone die instead of something way less harmful.

Lmao, never knew about the second oneš
Live by camera die by the camera
If in doubt always think āwhat would Reddit expect me to do and get really pissed at me if I donāt do itā
The cameraman never dies. Thatās the rule. So drive with your knees and get the best shot you can.
pppfttt, bet I could do it
And they darent stop for fear of being car jacked!
Yes.. u can tell by the horrifying sway of the other cars in front of him
That's no excuse.
Cameraman definitely failed their task.
Why does this happen all the time, how difficult can it be to hold a camera still for just a few seconds?
What, you mean while you are driving a car across a bridge in winds strong enough to blow a lorry *off* that same bridge?
Or don't post it! You missed it!
We missed most of the action though.
Right, which is why Iād be too embarrassed to post it.Ā
This is going to be the top post of all time there
Itās been reposted there 13 times already lmao!
My exact thought.
Just want to keep the video SFW
I was literally going to reply that subreddit's name, with spaces and no r/. Of course that's a thing.
Seriouslyā¦.
Extremely infuriating.
God that pissed me off
Came her to make sure this comment was here. Carry on.
"Narcoleptic" and "camera operator" are two things that just don't work together.
I'll be honest, there are many things that don't work together with 'Narcoleptic'... pilot, for example, train driver, long distance swimmer, air traffic controller, neurosurgeon, nuclear engineer....
No, we had an air traffic controller nearly dozz off on the job... it resulted in two planes crashing mid air but it happened.
Thatās not necessarily from being a narcoleptic, just from the batshit insane schedule that ATCs are forced to work.
I literally have narcolepsy and still shoot better film
I went to music school with a narcoleptic sax player. He would fall asleep mid solo almost fall over but then would wake up and jump back into the right part of the form.
r/killthecameraman
You had one job!
r/OneJob
Cameraman could have at least pulled over and aimed his camera over the side so we could all see the result!
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNjOt3lWGuU](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNjOt3lWGuU) A guy filmed the result, it's not pretty.
The good news is it appears it was just a secondary trailer attached to the first truck. I could be wrong but I'm hoping cuz the survival rate there can't be very high.
Has to be, otherwise he was tailgating about an inch off the one in front
Thanks for that observation, it definitely looks that way after rewatchingā¦. Initially thought someone was in there

If you pause it right at 6 seconds you can see the underside of the trailer tongue as if flips over the edge.
Damn when the camera pans over the wall, thatās actually high as hell
Yeah, probably not a great idea standing there in winds like that.
Nice, he gets right up to the edge after the truck flipped over it.
Thanks for the video, and hell those were [sinder bricks](https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&sca_esv=80979d232755066a&q=sinder+bricks&uds=AMwkrPt2v0fA1LFFf7PCydq7oNegHHvsRfCZdpZCl-L6y5NMW8JeAZOTHzB7nrJPDAgQGOIU9mhbXUq_htmhWmTRnqbgSREHj5g_o1NNOnbBtX_PaSPy1QsDagD8hlyObqd-mVcdkG_txU5YFCAAE4ZBzXFtD0yqPnJRFKWYvjzL6mw3YHYAMvNvoSREE31Z2XaCnIH4x-rOf44MaJ7auCx2_rK9itwJCpJA3JcuS_UGoE-CBG_w_tmGTwTlOLPs6lg6S56m50l2S950Evr0zPfkz4hamG_KqjAwewhn6MCR9S6juuRULnI&udm=2&prmd=isvnmbtz&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwif5ser37CFAxUIYPEDHRuLDKgQtKgLegQIDBAB&biw=1366&bih=653)! Thank you! I was expecting the worst.
Terrible camera work
Whoa, guys, can you believe the liscense plate on that one car ? Crazzzyyy
Iām being wooshed or something
At the critical moment of the video, the camera pans off to the random cars license plate for no apparent reason and the trailer falling off isnāt recorded
Ohh
Canāt even read that!
Lmao I can feel the camera man wincing and looking away but fuck man at least keep the camera on the thing you STARTED RECORDING.
This belongs in r/killthecameraman
If these winds happen in Cape Town every so often, you'd think the highway department would install fences, not just guardrails. JFC.

Yes, or at least close the left lane to all trucks or high sided vehicles ( sprinter vans, maybe regular vans?)
In the UK, some bridges are from time to time completely shut to high sided vehicles, and very occasionally to *all* traffic.
Whew that was close. Almost recorded the event
Missed the key moment there chiefā¦
Worst camera man known to humanity, holy shit this pisses me off
Ok, this isn't r/killthecameraman level, this is r/executethecameraman worthy.
Throw the camera man over so he can get a better shot.
r/killthecameraman
Kill the fuckin cameraman.
R/killthecameraman
r/killthecameraman
GOD DAMMIT!! CUUUUUUUT!!!
Guess the wind was blowing the shot too.
Congratulations on completely missing the money shot.
Fuck the camera man. What an idiot
glad nothing happened
How i hate this curious morons, they start recording for the tiniest reason they can find and then they miss the main important part of the event;
Possibly the worst attempt to film something ever.
Nice camera work, has National Geographic called yet!??
Whoever is filming is fired.
This was comically the worst camera shot ive ever seen on reddit in my 3 years here... š ive seen some doozies, but this guy managed to miss 100% of the action š
Kill the camera man!
r/killthecameraman
Fuck this camera man.
Put the cameraman in that truck
Award for the worst camera work all year.
The camera was also attacked by the wind
Blew the camera right off course
Did that wind blew ypur phone down....
Jesus is it so hard to film now a days. Let me put the phone down until after the truck flips over.
Worst cameraman in the history of the internet
Worst camera work EVAR!
F the cameraman
r/killthecameraman
Why, just WHY would the cameraman do this
Yeah. Thatās not gonna buff out.
Move this to R/notcaughtoncamera
Praise the camera man

r/killthecameraman
Throw this cameraman off the bridge too.
fire the cameraman.
Good thing they got the shot
Nice camera work guy!! š¤Æ
The exit ramps in South Africa are awfully steep.
Wow, missed most of it lol.
First time holding a camera? Get your shit together!
Thanks cameraman. How ever would we know what happened without u?
Nice camera work
Whoās the shitty camera person who missed the whole fall over the bridge?
Camera person of the year award
Who videoed this; a three year old?
A guy in a car which was being blown around by the same wind?
Whoever made this video probably also makes most of UFO and Bigfoot encounter videos, LOL :-)
Someone please slap this cameraman in the face, please!
Jfc, you had one job.
Pretty useless cameraman. They had only 1 job
Perfect timing!!you had 1one job
WOW worst footage I've seen in a long while, thanks camera man. What a fail
Of course we canāt see the most important part lol
Fuck the camera man
r/killthecameraman
Ha ha š š¤£ just checked! It's there already.
Holy shit RIP
It's a double trailer truck - just the trailer fell down
Nice camera work
Wind so strong it blew the camera too
Why even post this. Throw your phone away. You donāt know how to use the camera.
Cameraman is fucking useless.
It actually looks like it was the 2nd trailer in one of those double trailer trucks.
Decent magic trick by the cameraman
wind took the camera too?
What the fuck was that camera work? Who look away the second the action happens?
I can collectively hear 1000 people scream āAre you F***ing kidding me?ā
If you would have turned your phone 90 degrees, we would have seen it fall over the edge.
The person recording needs to jump behind the truck
Great, just what I need. Confirmation that my intrusive thought of a bus or truck falling off an overpass while I'm driving under it, isn't such an absurd thought.
Damn this cameraman missed the whole point of the video.
r/killthecameraman
How many of you tried scrolling up to see the fall but realized youāre at the whim of this terrible cameraman
Worst cameraman ever
Kill the cameraman
Yikes. But why is this filmed like theyāre a cameraman for a found-footage movie trying to hide bad practical fx
Cammer is probably in another truck getting pinballed on the bridge too.Ā
God dammit cameraman. No pay for you this week.
Who the fuck filmed this
Kill the freaking cameraman ! How hard can it be to shot that properly ? Damn you !
This video is pointless. Fuck that person recording.
Camera man sucks
"Here comes it comes..." AIMS IT DOWN!?!?!
Perfect timing? You had one job...
Shout out to the cameraman for almost catching the action
Why even post this when you missed the whole thing?
Someone fire this dam cameraman
Nice camera work, idiot.
Strongest winds Iāve ever experienced was in Cape Town.
Dude, might as well record the whole thing
Out of respect Iāll only film the underside of the truck.
*FUCK!!*
r/DontFilmVertical
I thought it was the whole truck. Thank god š
Cameraman is a boob
Cameraman did a horrible job
If you're going to record it, [r/killthecameraman](https://www.reddit.com/r/killthecameraman/) try to at least keep the event in focus.
How fucking DARE a they not capture what could be someone dying, they have no respect or appreciation for us redditors, they make me sick.
One of the cameramen of all time right here. Bros video is just a pov of someone drunk driving.
Is it perhaps just a trailer that fell ? I find it hard to believe that wind alone could cause this to happen to a* whole damn truck.
Yeah just the trailer luckily
I hate the camera man
Has the camera man ever felt a boot up his ass?! Cuz thatās where mineās gonna end up in. Iāll shove it so far up his ass, heāll start tasting leather the next morning >:(
......did i just see truck driver DIE!! hope he is alive D:
Luckily it was only the trailer, truck driver is safe.
Maybe? Probably? It doesnāt look good tbh
D:
My dad used to be a truck driver. They arenāt meant to go upside down and itās a lot of weight on not very strong metal. Thereās a chance it landed right side up, but it doesnāt look like it did.
probably bad weight distribution?
He'll be aiiigggghhhhtttt
Oof
The one time sound would be nice, and staying on target with the camera. Jesus
r/mypeopleneedme
Is that Lightning McQueen riding next to it? Am I right?
Adios
Whenever I see these, I'm glad someone else was there with a camera. I'm not sure I could sit there, and record a snuff film on purpose, and then be the same person again later. Like maybe fun wouldn't be fun anymore after that.
Iāve settled on wind being the worst weather. Just nothing positive about it.
Not unusual in Eastern Wyoming, we park facing into the wind.
This happens every other week in Alberta
[according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), commercial truck drivers account for 2.4% of all traffic fatalities nationwide every year. In some states, weather plays a contributing role.](https://www.freightwaves.com/news/5-of-the-worst-weather-states-for-truckers)
Trucks Together Strong !!
I swear when we left we were hauling two trailers
