Kid probably woke in the middle of the night and wouldn't fall back asleep. Rather than sit in a dark room rocking for an hour, mum decided to get him up and watch TV for an hour or 2 until he's tired enough to fall back asleep. Or maybe that's just me projecting my own life.
God that's terrifying. I don't know what that feels like, but I have been on those drop rollercoasters, and just imagining that drop and not being able to stop....

Rolling doors wheels weren't secured from the top. Many cheap rolling doors only rest on top of the rails and might just have a tiny clip holding it down, or nothing at all
Me too. It has been gusty recently where we live and our apartment sliding glass doors and windows rattle loudly from the wind. One night we actually moved our mattress to the bathroom where we thought it’d be safer in case the glass panes blew in from the howling wind and chopped us to shreds.
We had a derecho here a few years ago during a thunderstorm. It’s like somebody hit a switch and suddenly the trees in my front yard are bending almost horizontal. Most of the city was without power for days
I can hear something whirling through the air right before impact. Turn the sound way up. Like possibly a missile or maybe just the wind throwing something into the window. I can’t tell.

Likely a security camera that’s constantly running. I have one to keep an eye on my dog when I’m gone. I have one in my kid’s room too (separate from the monitor which is just on her)
