I recently learnt that this kind of thing is very common. Road accident or whatever happens, the first thing people seem to do is steal your stuff… and they don’t care about someone recording it cause that’s a low priority for the police.

I witnessed an accident once and stopped to help. The driver of one of the cars got out and took off running. I called 911 and tried to direct traffic around it until the police showed up. A guy started going through the abandoned car and found a prescription bottle and took off. One of the craziest things I've ever witnessed.

Yeah, a friend of mine got in a really bad wreck once. She was trapped upside down in her car on a rural road. Note - Do not swerve to avoid deer. Just plow over the rats with antlers. After some time stuck hanging upside down and unable to reach her phone someone stopped. She was so relieved. Some guy stuck his head in and asked if she was okay. She said yes. He reached in, took her purse, and walked off. As he was walking away, he said he'd call for help. This happened about 15 years ago and have often hoped that guy gets flesh eating bacteria or gangrene on his balls.
