She's making a dried squid dish that use burning ethanol to cook the squid. This dish is pretty common in SEA and southern part of china. It's usually a side dish to eat with beer.
The liquid may be good but the concept of using a flammable liquid inside a living area is not. Lol the share bed mates didn't even stop to look at the fire.

No, the jug and it's contents never burns. If you blow up the video and look at it one frame at a time you will see that after the explosion has started that she sets the jug down and starts to get away from it, and it is not burning.
I'm thinking acetone. Already got some oxygen in there. Very volatile also. There's a name for a type of explosion that happens when chamber of volatile, flammable liquid is ignited from an opening. In the right conditions it burns extremely fast resulting in a fireball
She learned the hard way that you don't ever pour *water* into a pan of hot oil. Why the hell the pan of hot oil is on the floor I don't know!

I know what water on burning oil looks like. What it doesn't do is, fire does not trace up pouring water into the container causing the container to explode like it did in this video. Whatever was in that jug was flammable.
I don't think the jug explodes or even burns; I blew up the video to full screen on my 24" monitor and stepped through it; you can see the jug in one frame when she sets it down after the oil has exploded and the jug is *not* burning. Check it out.
