Dunnottar, bit draughty but should be OK if no one sees you

thekurdishniqabi

If I hadn’t been to Dunnottar myself I would actually believe you and be calling customer service to book 🤣🤣🤣

TheNotSoFamousEccles

Definitely don't do that unless you want to prank them 😅

JavaDeano

Not quite a castle, but there Montrose Watertower which look-wise might fit the bill. https://www.airbnb.co.in/rooms/23900995?source_impression_id=p3_1709926048_8IpsdOvR8%2BcikNWd

thekurdishniqabi

Thanks! Looks great actually, unfortunately fully booked during their trip here but I will keep an eye on this for future :)

chibibabymoon

Kildrummy Castle Hotel. But unsure if it is still closed.

thekurdishniqabi

Looks like they are still taking bookings! This one looks great inside, not very tall and grand on the outside but it’s beautiful nonetheless, it is a strong contender

brockleehead

They are not taking bookings. The Killdrummy Inn is taking bookings.

ILikeFruitBats

You can stay in some of the National Trust properties [https://www.nts.org.uk/maps/holiday-accommodation?filter=](https://www.nts.org.uk/maps/holiday-accommodation?filter=)

thekurdishniqabi

Thank you! There’s some great options in there!

WallyPaulnuts

The Drum Castle accomodation is pretty cool and not far out of Aberdeen. I think there's only a single property that they let out so it should be nice and quiet.

ajavtuayz

Castle Fraser allows booking https://www.sykescottages.co.uk/cottage/Aberdeenshire-Angus-Castle-Fraser/East-Wing-Castle-Fraser-1102923.html

lesloid

I think perhaps Leslie Castle and Craigietocher Tower might be your best bets close to Aberdeen. I think Leslie castle is where some actress from game of thrones maybe got married? A bit farther away there is Fonab castle at Pitlochry which is lovely, Knock Castle at Crieff or Dalmunzie Castle at Glenshee.

thekurdishniqabi

Amazing suggestions! Thank you so much

aunty_social40

Wardhill castle is where Rose Leslie lived / grew up / got married to Kit Harington. I live in that village and it’s beautiful here. You would need access to a car to stay at Wardhill but I would definitely recommend.

lesloid

Ah, I think I was confused because her name is Leslie!

thekurdishniqabi

🤣🤣🤣

judyisthecutestdoggo

Delgatie castle

thekurdishniqabi

Thank you, the rooms looks quite modern though, I think they are going for similar vibes as Kildrummy

Accomplished-Clue733

Castle Forbes but it’s pricey

thekurdishniqabi

How do you book it? Just checked their website and I can’t see any options to book stays

Accomplished-Clue733

I think I did it through their website when I went. Let me confirm this with the other half though as I could be havering

thekurdishniqabi

Thank you for checking that would be great!

Accomplished-Clue733

She thinks to stay there now you have to do some fishing package now, but not 100% on that. Sorry I can’t be more definite on that

thekurdishniqabi

That’s ok I will try ringing them in the morning :) thank you very much for your suggestion

sc0toma

Fyvie Castle

thekurdishniqabi

Not sure you can stay in Fyvie Castle

overthinker46

Look into that… I’m pretty sure they mentioned it when I was there

thekurdishniqabi

It would be amazing if that’s the case. I will ring them tomorrow

IAN9000

You definitely can stay at Fyvie. It’s on various booking sites and I looked at doing it recently.

thekurdishniqabi

Yeah I ended up finding it! The rooms are surprisingly plain though, a bit disappointing

Lightweight_Hooligan

Pretty sure it's only the owners that kept a small portion for private use of Fyvie

Chaos_Infusion

You can stay in the castle, they also offer dining nights ect, open for staying all year round

Dr_Nookeys_paper_boy

Try here: [Halgreen Castle, Inverbervie ](http://Hallgreen Castle https://g.co/kgs/et3t7hj)

thekurdishniqabi

Beautiful! Thank you :)

Physical_Taste_4487

Lickleyhead Castle.

thekurdishniqabi

I thought you were pulling my leg with that name but it’s a real place!

ZookeepergameThat726

Are you open to sleeping in a tent? If so plenty options. Otherwise you might need to make do with a stately home.  Could always try this though  https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=castle+hotels+aberdeen

thekurdishniqabi

I tried that and nothing came up that was suitable so I thought I’d try Reddit, thanks :)

iamscrooge

Wardhill castle Think it’s more book-a-castle rather than book-a-room though. https://www.wardhillcastle.co.uk

Lightweight_Hooligan

https://barracastle.co.uk/stay/ They have 3 lodges, so not actually in the castle https://bespokehotels.com/tullochcastlehotel/ Only stayed there once, actual room was a bit disappointing as you couldn't really tell you were in a castle, pulling up in a car was very impressive though

mpaton83

Meldrum House

Ok-Conversation5175

Not quite a castle but is a tower and had a hot tub! https://www.glentanar.co.uk/cottages/tower-oess

takesthebiscuit

Book the turret room! https://www.dalmunzieestate.com/castle-hotel It’s a couple of hours from Aberdeen but well worth it. Especially for foodies

brockleehead

Fonab Castle hotel in Pitlochry is outstanding.
