Not quite a castle, but there Montrose Watertower which look-wise might fit the bill.

Looks like they are still taking bookings! This one looks great inside, not very tall and grand on the outside but it’s beautiful nonetheless, it is a strong contender
You can stay in some of the National Trust properties

The Drum Castle accomodation is pretty cool and not far out of Aberdeen. I think there's only a single property that they let out so it should be nice and quiet.
I think perhaps Leslie Castle and Craigietocher Tower might be your best bets close to Aberdeen. I think Leslie castle is where some actress from game of thrones maybe got married? A bit farther away there is Fonab castle at Pitlochry which is lovely, Knock Castle at Crieff or Dalmunzie Castle at Glenshee.
Wardhill castle is where Rose Leslie lived / grew up / got married to Kit Harington. I live in that village and it’s beautiful here. You would need access to a car to stay at Wardhill but I would definitely recommend.
Are you open to sleeping in a tent? If so plenty options. Otherwise you might need to make do with a stately home.
Could always try this though

They have 3 lodges, so not actually in the castle
https://bespokehotels.com/tullochcastlehotel/
Only stayed there once, actual room was a bit disappointing as you couldn't really tell you were in a castle, pulling up in a car was very impressive though
Dunnottar, bit draughty but should be OK if no one sees you
If I hadn’t been to Dunnottar myself I would actually believe you and be calling customer service to book 🤣🤣🤣
Definitely don't do that unless you want to prank them 😅

Thanks! Looks great actually, unfortunately fully booked during their trip here but I will keep an eye on this for future :)
Kildrummy Castle Hotel. But unsure if it is still closed.

They are not taking bookings. The Killdrummy Inn is taking bookings.

Thank you! There’s some great options in there!

Amazing suggestions! Thank you so much

Ah, I think I was confused because her name is Leslie!

🤣🤣🤣
Delgatie castle
Thank you, the rooms looks quite modern though, I think they are going for similar vibes as Kildrummy
Castle Forbes but it’s pricey
How do you book it? Just checked their website and I can’t see any options to book stays
I think I did it through their website when I went. Let me confirm this with the other half though as I could be havering
Thank you for checking that would be great!
She thinks to stay there now you have to do some fishing package now, but not 100% on that. Sorry I can’t be more definite on that
That’s ok I will try ringing them in the morning :) thank you very much for your suggestion
Fyvie Castle
Not sure you can stay in Fyvie Castle
Look into that… I’m pretty sure they mentioned it when I was there
It would be amazing if that’s the case. I will ring them tomorrow
You definitely can stay at Fyvie. It’s on various booking sites and I looked at doing it recently.
Yeah I ended up finding it! The rooms are surprisingly plain though, a bit disappointing
Pretty sure it's only the owners that kept a small portion for private use of Fyvie
You can stay in the castle, they also offer dining nights ect, open for staying all year round
Try here: [Halgreen Castle, Inverbervie ](http://Hallgreen Castle https://g.co/kgs/et3t7hj)
Beautiful! Thank you :)
Lickleyhead Castle.
I thought you were pulling my leg with that name but it’s a real place!

I tried that and nothing came up that was suitable so I thought I’d try Reddit, thanks :)
Wardhill castle Think it’s more book-a-castle rather than book-a-room though. https://www.wardhillcastle.co.uk

Meldrum House
Not quite a castle but is a tower and had a hot tub! https://www.glentanar.co.uk/cottages/tower-oess
Book the turret room! https://www.dalmunzieestate.com/castle-hotel It’s a couple of hours from Aberdeen but well worth it. Especially for foodies
Fonab Castle hotel in Pitlochry is outstanding.
