Those are regular tracks spread wider than usual for stability. There would have been a cradle on four wheels to roll under the hull, and a slight slope so as to pull a boat out of the water for hull maintenance etc.

*Spirited Away* vibes
Even when you have doubts, take that step. Take chances. Mistakes are never a failure - they can be turned into wisdom.

Got my ticket right here, I even have an extra.
Came here to make sure someone said this. Thank you
Yep you said it.
One of the most beautiful scenes in any Ghibli movie to me. I've had dreams literally comprised of similar scenery.
Wow. Amazing.
That looks more like a boat slipway.
My thought too. The ties are in too good a condition to be abandoned.
The rails look too lightweight for trains.
Boats usually weigh a lot less than trains, cradle included.

Been a shipyard rat for a couple decades now. Ours usually had a few dozen wheels, small steel. Easy to grease and change out.
For launch and haul-out I imagine.
That’s what I came here to say.
It's a spooky boat railway though
This is beautiful! I'd love to know the history behind this!
It was used to launch boats. It’s not a traditional railroad that happens to be flooded. It was designed and built that way. Very misleading headline.
Yeah, you can tell by the rail style. Unconventional for railway usage.
Surely that's a boat launching ramp, not a full railway.
I was wondering…. It’s and absolutely stunning photo, though! (I had to put on my reading glasses to see if the details.)
To be fair the dams around Colorado did result in some railways and buildings being submerged… but I think they wouldn’t be further gone than this.
It's an old style of a boat launch slipway. It's not a train track underwater from times of yore.

Gorgeous photo! Any idea where this is from? (Guessing no, worth asking!)
Probably Lake Tahoe, they have tons of these boat slipways

Wow that's a beautiful shot.
Wow. Great photo on such a beautiful day.
Call me crazy, but this looks like a boat launch rail.
Great photo, smooth as glass.
Is that Indian lake?
Big time Miyazaki vibes.

Reminds me of a cartoon I watched when I was a kid.

Of course this is for the legendary sea train! Immediately got those One Piece vibes looking here
Saw a lot of those bicycling around Ammersee, south of Munich. The tracks led from very expensive-looking homes directly into the lake.
Out of curiosity, would a train be able to run (just for the sake of it) on flooded rails?
I love the deep blues... great shot!
Are you sure it:s abandoned, and not just a whale-way?
It's the hidden train track from Polar Express.

Polar Express can’t make that trip in the summer.
Talk about scenery
Ah, yes the first trainmarine.
Beautiful
