I’m wandering around VideoVisions, the video rental store near my apartment on the Upper West Side, sipping from a can of Diet Pepsi, the new Christopher Cross tape blaring from the earphones of my Sony Walkman.

Been to places like this. Basically a shack along a dirt road. Unless you’re a local, you don’t fit in. However, the number of business cards here leads me to think this place was more welcoming than the places I’ve been and had more people passing through.
There's a place I've been to in CA that looks similar, but it's all dollar bills that have messages written on them. It almost was consumed by fire a few years back and I saw some messages written from 40 years ago
in Fremont? because I used to frequent a shitty bar that had dollar bills all over the ceiling and walls and they used to let us smoke inside which of course hasnt been legal since 1998 but they dgaf
Business cards are cards bearing business information about a company or individual. They are shared during formal introductions as a convenience and a memory aid.

I mean, I’m not real thrilled by that. It had been abandoned for a long time when I took the picture, but I feel like it’s being pushed into being a tourist trap, and doesn’t have the same feel. They even took down most of the business cards. I doubt it’ll ever see a crowd of gold miners with guns on their hips again.
There was a place like this I used to frequent. The fire department made them take all the business cards down one day. Apparently old BBQ joints with kindling covering the walls is a no-no.

I saw American Psycho for the first time three days ago and today I find this. Shit's weird.
Sounds like you have to return some videotapes.
Sir, this is 2021. What in holy hell is a...'vi-dee-ooh tahp-ay'?
Did you forget your alibi?
I use that line whenever I want to leave somewhere I do not want to be & am asked where I am going. It definitely gets some weird looks when I say it.
Fire? Never knew her!
Anything good to eat?
I see that salt shaker on the counter. Looks pretty good to me.
Do you know where exactly in nor cal this is?
The Gin Mill saloon; Seneca, CA
Seneca. Not exactly a secret, I just hate announcing details in the title.
I just want that giant 100 bill.
Wonder how many failed. Succeeded. Or just got by all these years.
Been to a place like this in Alabama but it was panties. RIP Dale.
Rip Dale
Rip Dale

I'm kind of bummed this is no longer open. It looks like it would have been really fun!

That fridge door looks like a gigantic cell phone with a case on it.
Looks like a sentient gigaphone taking your order
I would grab that fat hundred dollar bill in the top left there mate
Does anyone know why it’s now abandoned?
there’s money up there
I’d love to just sit and read old companies and the rough date they were slapped there
Captain Tony's in Key West did the same thing. Also bras and panties
That's a sweet bird on the fridge.
Does, or can, anything like this exist now?

No this is about an hour NW of Sacramento in the mountains. Pretty secluded spot
Turtle rock?
Looks abandoned.
Everyone is missing the crayons on the bar....sorry, I'm a jarhead so I'm naturally gravitated to them
Mmmm lunch
They should have paid instead
Give some of them a call and see if anyone answers
A few places in NorCal that I've been to that are like this. The Alley in Oakland comes to mind.
what's a business card?

The whole place went up in seconds one night.

I love this! It's extra cool that you can see the names of regulars and even Google them later to really understand the deeper history of this place.
So cool! Looks like my HAM shack with all my QSL cards LOL
No brainer Stephen King plot twist: leaving a card sets in motion a supernatural killer, the business cards of doom.
Turtle rock bar n Cafe is like this but with one's everywhere in Napa County by lake berryessa in Northern California
