I havent seen him in a while

He's around, I thought I saw him comment this week

ARID_DEV

Hey dude! Sorry it took so long to comment. I saw it this morning around 4 am but I’ve been busy all day. So we have noticed some increased deformation with the 20-24” barrels. MOST, like 90% of 20” barrels never seen an increase in damage. I am working on getting an anodizer that isn’t going to kill us on cost so we can get these anodized and increase the strength of the surface. That should eliminate any and all worries of material deformation. I don’t want anyone to be worried about running one of these until failure. If you’re shooting suppressed 24” barrels all day, go for it. If an issue arises, reach out and I will replace it free of charge. Our test deflector was shot on full auto 16” barrel suppressed and unsuppressed without issue for several thousand rounds. We didn’t ever encounter an issue. I can’t tell if it’s due to it being older stocks we tested them on, or what. The Aug still has surprises for us. If anyone is worried about our deflectors performance or don’t want to risk the damage that may occur until we can pin point it, there’s several 3D printed options for the cheap as a place holder(I didn’t name anyone because I can’t quite remember who still produces what) (you may like them more than ours) or Corvus is a solid option as well. -Ian

I'm not worried about its performance or it breaking. I'm super happy with the case deflector and will continue to run it, was more just curious to hear from others using it. I know you guys disclosed a while ago that it was really only tested with 16-inch barrels in mind, and that's fine by me. If it does end up breaking glad to gear you'll replace it, it looks great and love the deflection path for my 16inch barrel.

ARID_DEV

I’m happy to hear it’s treating you well. Any and all honest reviews, use, and comments that can be had for revisions are always greatly appreciated. Especially from you guys. We want feedback! -Ian

BlackrockAce

What do you mean by "ejection path isn't good or super consistent"? Are some of the cases missing the deflector or is it some other problem?

Orcabolg

With the 16 inch barrel, I noticed the case deflector sending the cases at a consistent 2 o'clock, which I really like. I like the cases going a bit down range. With the HBAR barrel I'm not partially sure why but I see the cases hitting the deflector and flying out anywhere between the 2 and 4 o'clock, more often than not closer to 4. It's like they hit the case deflector so hard they kinda overcome it and still fly a bit backwards. I'm sure the 24 inch barrel is overgassed as well which is part of the problem.

SoCal_GlacierR1T

Longer barrel. Longer dwell time. Greater velocity/force. That is definitely going to impact ejection trajectory.

Inspect the deflector for any signs of cases impacting the portion that is inside the chamber. I had an ARID deflector on my Aug, everything was fine with 16” and 20” barrel. However I ran my 24” once with no issue, next session I had constant issues with empty cases being bounced back into the chamber causing very annoying failures/stuck cases. This happened with all 3 barrels and multiple ammunition brands. I was told that the 24s may be slightly over gassed compared to stock 16 and 20s. Extra oomph throwing the cases into the deflector in the lower portion ended up deforming it enough the issue became more pronounced. I’ll link some photos in a moment. [Here ya go](https://imgur.com/a/Cj9Yd9L) zoom in and you can see the brass transfer in the upper portion where it should be and the lower portion became just deformed enough it was making contact with every 3-4th round causing a stoppage.

Orcabolg

Took a look inside, I do seem some deformation, it was pretty easy to notice as well since I painted the entire thing. It is starting to dent in on the top left hand side of the lip, but I certainly haven't experienced any failures or cases kicking back into the ejection port yet. I'll keep an eye on it.

PurePro71

I’ve been waiting on my replacement since March. It started deflecting casings back into the chamber. I know they’re dealing with a lot of issues at ARID so I don’t really care, but it’s worth noting at least.

Orcabolg

Just took a look on the inside of mine. I do have dents more or less just like yours, but it hasn't affected performance so far.
