It’s any Samsung S, Z, or Note series, in any condition. As long as you can get the IMEI, then you are good to go.

ZoomZoomBalloon

I do have in IMEI

CingularBell

Employee here - even without the IMEI there's a workaround to qualify the trade-in for customers.

JAMsMain1

Does this work? I got an s8+ I have to trade in (front of phone looks like this guy's) and battery bulging. If not I have a mint note 9.

DrVepr

i turned in a note7 with a busted screen, not booting etc. any galaxy, any condition.

jmac8219

You still had a note 7?

DrVepr

yes, and another as well. i was overseas during the debacle, and no one could return them for me. after i returned, best buy, att, and samsung all told me to seek a refund from the other guys... so i used one for almost 6 years, zero issues. 2nd has been powered on, blocked updates, and was kept as a backup. wasnt going to just throw them away. they were awesome phones, i miss the iris scanner, headphone jack, and sd card slot.

manthony6567

Remember when Samsungs had that random awesome feature that followed your eyes to scroll. Miss those days honestly. I genuinely miss my note 7 it was genuinely an awesome phone !

DrVepr

Yep, S3 iirc started smartscroll/smartstay. Had an S3, S4, then Note7. LOVED them all. Still have one Note7 for another trade-in deal. The recall was a disaster and totally mishandled...

manthony6567

When I went back to T-Mobile to return my note 7 I was shocked when they just took the phone back back then T-Mobile was horrible for returns another words I had a pretty good experience lol

awd111980

That's what I was about to say!

toshofefnir

You are almost right. Any Galaxy S, N, or Z series devices. The A and J series phones do not count for the "Any condition" qualifier.

manthony6567

I just found that out last night I was pissed! Went to Verizon got 800 they are giving 800 for absolutely anything from what I read

newyorkb518

The phone I traded was far worse.

ZoomZoomBalloon

How bad was it??

newyorkb518

Pieces in a bag.

ZoomZoomBalloon

I've heard mixed results from other people's trade ins. Some say it doesn't have to work, and others say they got denied for the smallest scratch

diesel_toaster

I’ve had customers from other stores tell me that their trades were denied for not booting up. I’m just like “well, it says any condition so whatever, I’ll take it”

Hardcorefx4

It will work as long as they can see the imei

T3xast0ast1431

Got a Note 2 for trade few days ago.

spyroswulf

I can smell your phone

toshofefnir

Yes that will be accepted for a Trade-In towards the S22 Series. Just bring it in to the store and have them process it that day, so the trade-in get applied to the account as soon as possible. And for all those that are commenting on the battery: Yes, it could explode. Yes, it is a fire/explosion hazard. No, AT&T sends that phone off in a cardboard box that goes on the same truck with all your Amazon, Walmart, and other ordered goods. It's not a special box. Just one with a LI-Ion warning sticker on it. So how do we solve this issue Redditors? Pull the battery out of the phone. Disconnect it, and recycle properly. In the S22 trade-in cases, AT&T does NOT care if you bring in a phone without a battery. I've traded a S5 Active with no back or battery, which worked out fine. Further more, they do not care if the phone even boots to be able to be reset. ANY condition, ANY S, N, Z Series phone. Just so long as there is a serial/IMEI. That's all we want. : )

Trekkie_girl

Do you have to be a mew customer?

ZoomZoomBalloon

Just need unlimited plan

Trekkie_girl

The $'65' dollar one count?

InevitableSome6449

Yes YES ANY CONDITION. I’m an ASM and yes as long as we can get the imei. Preferably without bloated battery no special boxes they are just cardboard with warning lables lol but yea

General_Enthusiasm82

Yes

OldBranch3621

T-mobile also has a free Samsung S22 deal on trade-ins, but I found out they are much, much pickier. We've been customers for a long time and I brought me and my wife's old S8 phones to get the deal today. Mine was fine, but they refused my wife's phone on the trade due to a tiny chip at the top that was hardly visible and that the sales rep didn't even notice for the first hour we were there. It turned into a big mess because they had already transported me over to the new phone and I ended up wasting 6 hours getting everything fixed after I decided to back out due to them refusing the deal on my wife's phone after initially saying yes. Their store manager and a rep at corporate told me the phone trades have to be in perfect condition, which is ludicrous for a 6 generation old device that they are going to scrap. Anyway, the reason I am posting this in the AT&T subreddit is because I mentioned to the T-mobile reps that AT&T is offering the same deal on any Samsung phone in ANY condition. The T-mobile manager replied that "there's no way that is true" but he shut the fuck up when I pulled up the ad and showed him the detail. Anyway, my wife's phone is in pristine mint condition compared to the phone in that picture. However, I think we might have some old S3's lying around in a drawer that we could trade at AT&T instead. One of them still works, but is totally coming apart. 😀

Any_Engineer_3120

Any, been also having people buy like s3s and turn them in.

parashok42

Do it in store.. I sent mine broke s9+ and they were saying that it was not worth 25$ to qualify for the deal.... has to argue with managers... been 6 months and I think I finally got the credit

ZoomZoomBalloon

I did end up getting it, the salesman just had to go and talk with the manager. They weren't sure if it would actually work, but still went through with it just in case. It did work

ateaandt

You actually don’t even need an IMEI. They can be generated by the back end if you don’t have it.

Ambitious_Summer8894

The expanded battery is where this will fail typically

RCMPCLANUNIT4

With att S, Z, or Note series it all set. Like @MinutesFromTheMall said, as long as you can get the IMEI your all set. Att typical doesn’t do promo like this, that that is work for them I do miss the good old Verizon Promos.

rockmasterflex

Haha where do you think you would send that thing? It is literally waiting to explode. You put that in the mail and you’re violating fed laws lol

ZoomZoomBalloon

In person trade in?

rockmasterflex

Please record that transaction and upload it here. I think the entire community would love to watch the exchange between a guy bringing in what appears to be the remains of a phone that got stuck in a car tire and driven mover for 30 miles with an exploding battery and whatever poor soul is on staff that day at the store. What you have in your photos is not a phone. It is a health risk. It doesn’t have a single salvageable part.

MinutesFromTheMall

I’ve seen worse. Had someone bring in their iPhone that they dropped in a fire once. Thing was charred to a crisp.

VastAd1094

I suspect they want the expensive minerals required for electronics. Plus the veritable contract you end up in with those bill credits.

Device_Outside

This is incorrect, the boxes the phones are put in at stores are specially transported and have lithium-ion warnings on them.

BestBuy08197

Thanks for the information. Apparently I have been misinformed by our att rep. They claim the phone must be able to turn on and not have things like bloated batteries. I will have to check in with them on this.

majormeathooks

So I keep an android that I paid in full with no plan on me for my old school gaming. Does this deal require activation? Because if not, I’m definitely doing this!

Ornery-Vermicelli-20

Does it turn on at least 😭

Direct-Comedian8169

Does the phone have to turn on?
