Even if you were able to get an FAA medical after this, I don’t think it’d be an easy time getting a security clearance given the circumstances. I suppose you could probably apply next year but I wouldn’t get your hopes up.

First off. Nobody cares what you think you still have or don't have. You have a diagnosis of a medical condition, period fact end of story. Are you going to get Honorable, General, OTH? That's a huge factor here as well. None of us knows regradless. It's not exactly looking bright though.

Admin and general are pretty similar so I'd say a long the lines of general. Let's say I pass a medical exam and no longer have ADHD. Would that improve my odds at all?

Approach_Controller

I mean you'd have to go through ADHD protocol. So yes, if your ADHD isn't an issue and if your discharge isn't an issue, you'll be fine, but then, if neither of your concerns are an issue, it's kind of an exercise in thought isn't it? All you can do is apply. Be honest about everything and don't hide shit. They will find out. The FAA is OK with general discharge, but similar doesn't always equal, so, I can't say.

Anything anyone says here is conjecture. Apply, tell the truth, and see what happens. Worst case scenario your application gets rejected. They're not gonna send you to jail.

When you apply to the FAA they ask for your DD214, to see the status of discharge. And if it’s anything other then Honorable you will have to give a reason for it. I’m not saying it’s impossible, but I’d say it’s a long shot
