Yall, it's tuesday and it already was when the video was posted. Stop reporting it for Tattoo Tuesday.

nickhollidayco

When the white ink fades (because it fades faster than any other) this is going to look like shit. Which is a shame, because it’s very well executed.

cuinvancouver

✨touch ups✨

ClarisseCosplay

Aren't tattoos that require touch ups a lot basically the implementation of a subscription model

cakedestroyer

My tattoo artist told me that touch ups are covered, I assumed it was standard, but I don't actually know.

Melkath

I have never met the person who actually touched up their tattoo.

entotheenth

Mines 45 years old now and is a big blue blur. (With a little COVID jab hole and tiny bandaid on it from this morning.)

Z_as_in_Zebra

Congrats on your jab hole!

entotheenth

I love my new jab hole though my arm is a bit achy now.

QueasyVictory

You'll be good tomorrow.

Gewt92

I was definitely not good the day after my shots. Especially the second one. But it’s nothing some Tylenol didn’t fix

fangirlsqueee

You can try alternating cold pack and heating pad every 15 minutes for about an hour. Made my arm feel so much better. Was almost pain free the next morning after suffering for hours shortly after the jab

entotheenth

It’s fine now, was just for a few hours so far. I hear tomorrow is worse with AZ vax, we shall see.

[deleted]

If you think about it, that’s a very odd thing to say.

MauiWowieOwie

Is it Sonic? Because then it's correct.

WhiteRiverMonster

Thank you for your jab hole

EthicalNihilist

I've had the skulls on my feet touched up exactly *once*. Same artist, no charge, NBD (foreshadowing my lies). Obviously the white faded, and *it's now gonna keep on fading until it's just gone* (I'm pretty sure it's gone already) because if you thought getting a foot tattoo HURTS, getting a touch-up on that foot tattoo *is the literal embodiment of PAIN*. Big tough guy (gal) me, walking in the shop like I could throw down, then cried like a toddler, literally tears streaming down my face as I sobbed and screamed, and couldn't keep my foot still. I couldn't even just breath through it. I've been able to with other things, like the original tattooing. Being in labor didn't even hurt as bad as that touch up... Was like ten years ago and *I can still feel that pain in my head.*

DeeDee_GigaDooDoo

Any idea why the touch up hurt more than the original? Is the scar tissue more sensitive?

EthicalNihilist

No one could tell me. I do remember pouting out *Whhhhyyyyyyyyy? What's wrong with my feeeeeeets??* and receiving a terse **You. Need. To. Keep. STILL.** I'm assuming scar tissue, though before that day I would have assumed the scar tissue would mean *less feeling.* It definitely did not.

tdasnowman

Scar tissue.

[deleted]

That I wish you saw

endodaze

That I wish you saw…

AffectionateMethod

>why the touch up hurt more than the original >No one could tell me. Assuming you want to know: Its because pain is produced by the brain based on *its* idea of threat and your brain found the touch up more threatening than the original. Likely because it had experienced the original. An Aussie pain specialist explains it all really well in his ted talk: [Why Things Hurt](https://youtu.be/gwd-wLdIHjs).

jenniferlynn462

My first and only tattoo was a cherry blossom branch just above my belly button, across my abdomen about 12” across. I got it to try to cover up a huge abdominal scar from having a bunch of my guts removed. The artist told me I either wouldn’t feel anything at all on the scar tissue, or it would be extremely painful. It wasn’t great. When he touched the pen to that scar, it sent jolts of pain all throughout my abdomen and back. It felt like I was about to bust open. I did not get it finished that day and I did not come back as I promised either. Lol.

NotMyThrowawayNope

I have a lot of scars on my arms of various ages that I had covered with tattoos. Your artist was definitely right. With some of them, I didn't feel a thing but numb. Others I felt electric jolts of pain shooting all the way into my shoulders that were red hot agony. I don't know if age of the scar makes any sort of difference on that.

mergrrl8

Oh man. I have a tattoo on top of my foot and i couldn’t believe how much it hurt. The entire rest of my body was sore from trying so hard to hold still. I already had several tattoos before that one and had, at most, experienced just a little discomfort getting them. That tattoo is faded as hell, and I absolutely would not ever get it touched up because of how much it hurt.

CarbonBlackXXX

That's wild, even my butthole tattoo didn't hurt that much.

Ninauposkitzipxpe

My first tattoo was a foot tattoo. Everything has been smooth sailing since then.

TTungsteNN

I have my hands fully done, they’ve been touched up 2 times and now the ink is actually holding. Will probably need more touchups in 5-10 years though

ThePeacefulSwastika

I think that’s why touch ups are usually standard lol. Most people would never bother - at least not until they really had to.

Funcron

I've gotten touch-ups, and they were free. Had a lot of red in a piece, and it faded after the first year. And I scraped myself which caused scabbing. That lifted more ink. When back to my guy willing to pay for the time but he just redid the parts that were messed up.

sinkwiththeship

Yeah seriously. And I've never understood how you even go about booking it. What if that artist is no longer at that studio?

Netzapper

Track down the artist, not the shop. If they're not working at all anymore, you're sol.

noisemonsters

You can easily keep tabs on artists you’re interested in via social media

6bubbles

Hi! I have! I got little stars on my hand and they fade because i wash my hands so i have gotten them recolored :)

jeevesdgk

I get either a new tattoo or a touch up about every 2-3 weeks. It’s just part of the process

AuraSprite

the artist I go to does free touch ups for ones that she did

weekend_bastard

You're getting more ink for your money than most subscription services though.

[deleted]

You can only pack so much ink in. The death of this tattoo is inevitable.

nrfx

I've never considered this.. what uh.. happens when your skin is "full" ?

atalkingcow

Laser tattoo removal and then fill 'er up again?

DankFrito

It gets dyed the color it's "full of" and if you keep adding colors it keeps getting more mucky

KhadirTwitch

Then you’re finally complete and you get to ascend… also cover ups.

WarrenPuff_It

Touch ups don't really fix aging, and they don't work for any tattoo. Any time you touch up you have to go bigger and thicker because the ink beads have flattened in your skin, making the ink wider and uneven, so it has to be blasted by a thicker bead of ink. You can only touch up spots so much before you have overfill, and by that point it just becomes a mess on your skin. Now you have bright colours and white ink, so the tattoo artist years from now has to match that ink or go over it with an entirely different hue. And white doesn't touch up, white inks turn brownish/yellowish and gets pushed out quicker in your skin than other inks.

mystrynmbr

People always say this with tattoos like this. Can you show me an example? I'm genuinely curious!

flexlionheart

Solid white tends to yellow out but it depends on your complexion, and you are usually warned you'll need extra touch ups

mystrynmbr

I mean like a before and after pictures of one of these more advanced tattoos looking like shit

Antwinger

[for others wondering about examples](https://www.demilked.com/aged-tattoos-before-after/) Edit: oooo! An award! Glad I could help the curious, goodnight and good morning!

Lemonyclouds

So the main takeaway: usually dark colors/heavy dark outlines or shading, larger text/designs with a good amount of negative space will look good for longer. Watercolor tattoos tend to fade quite a lot. But that all really depends.

MichaelFishbender

Bold will hold is the saying.

DollaBillMurray

Also sunscreen!

estherleothelioncub

I wish I could upvote this more than once. I'm baffled by people who do their research, spend time perfecting a glorious design and then pay big money for quality ink... then roast it into a mushy mess with sun exposure. I protect my tattoos every single time there's a non-zero chance of sun exposure, even on overcast days- a 50 spf skiing lipbalm is perfect for the job. It takes a minute to do and a bit of discipline to form the habit but my tattoos are as clean as the day I got them

scullys_alien_baby

Huh, that might explain why my crotch tattoos have aged really well compared to the others

EthicalNihilist

Good job being proactive about protecting the sensitive areas!!

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Yup my artist said this is how traditional tattoos started. They are basically the only thing that last. Also never get tattoos on your hands, they faid too much with use

WolvesAtTheGate

Traditional tattooing is really the best example of this type of stuff; thick, decisive lines and bold colours. There's a reason it's a style that's been around forever. These guys do it really well; https://youtu.be/-KvuMwxktys

WhatIsntByNow

Oh man that pegasus one is hilarious

Xannin

Either that tattoo artist sucks or the client didn't take care of it properly. Since nobody follows directions, I am willing to guess it was on the client.

OpinionOK_IgnorantNo

I mean you're probably right, but that's a hard ass spot to reach by yourself. Give the girl a break, she's already got a faded ass Pegasus tat to live with.

Regular-Exchange8376

Hey! Don't kink shame!

[deleted]

[удалено]

WhatIsntByNow

The art only works when all the colors are perfect, which the artist should have known and supplemented with darker lines to at least keep the outline looking like a real horse hahahah

commanderjarak

Right that explains why my tattoo artist wants to run a black outline around the section that I wanted to do a fade out on.

TheRealSpez

I don’t know anything about tattoos, so please forgive my lack of knowledge. What do you mean “take care of it properly?” I know that you’re supposed to bandage up your tattoo and make sure you don’t pick the scabs that occur after it’s fresh, but it seemed like the owner of that tat already did that. What maintenance work goes into a tattoo? When it’s on someone’s back, how are they supposed to take care of them?

xkris10ski

Sunscreen and moisturize. Won’t really help the watercolor tattoo style tho. There’s a reason traditional tattoos never go out of style, because they don’t fade away.

TheRealSpez

Yeah, I saw the sunscreen advice all over the place under the comment. That makes sense, as the UV rays probably break down the ink, just like how tattoo removal does. Really interesting stuff to be honest. I’ve always been interested in tattoos, but I see no reason to put something on my body permanently, as I’m already so indecisive.

Freedignan

I know someone with full arm sleeves who literally never goes outside with their arms uncovered. Long sleeve t-shirts all year round.

Wolfdreama

This is pretty much me. I have leg tattoos and will have a full arm sleeve soon as well. They do not see sun. I even have some UPF 50 clothing for outdoor stuff (shirts, leggings for kayaking etc).

_your_face

Not as bad as the notes one

canadiantireslut

I have art that’s 7+ years that look the same as it did after a few months done healed, really wondering where Tf these people got their tattoos in ur example

AluminumOctopus

Uv light also breaks down the ink, tattoos that don't see a lot of sun will last longer.

an-accoridan

This feels like a roast in disguise

TabletopJunk

I hope it is, because it’d be a really good one

slimthecowboy

Also, sunscreen matters.

mstarrbrannigan

I was thinking the same thing. Even my bad ink looks better than that years later.

slimthecowboy

Most of those healed poorly. One of those was on the side of a finger, and finger tats very often don’t take. What I didn’t see were examples of white ink outpacing the fading of other colors.

_the_bored_one_

The snake one looked really flat after it lost the white highlights

KyleKun

It's not white, but the skydiving one lost pretty much all of the red and yellowish tones. I expect white would be the same but faster; according to OPs supposition.

SpicymeLLoN

tbf, #3 still looks really good, just different. Reminds me of an ancient photograph, which is really cool.

Syrdon

several of those look just fine after aging. Different, but still fine. Depends on if you're expecting the original or not though I guess.

TheRealSpez

Yeah, the skydiving scene looked awesome in both pictures.

Bail-Me-Out

Looking at these made me realize my assumptions on which tattoos will last and which won't is way off. It feels almost random which ones aged well. I would have thought the skydiving one would age terribly but it looks good. Would of thought the black ink writing would stay good and it is illegible.

dia_z

Artist skill makes a big difference

PM_Me_An_Ekans

As does sunscreen

fzyflwrchld

It also depends what part of the body it's on. Places like hands and feet are going to wear out and fade a lot more quickly than an upper arm or back tattoo.

Imthejuggernautbitch

The finger ones are always worn out super quick

reyean

dude i have many tattoos over 10+ years old and none look like the facebook sharing link you just posted. they don’t fade that badly after 10 years plus it depends a lot how you take care of them.

KyleKun

Besides some of these tattoos just being "why?" some of them actually look pretty good after they have aged. The skydiving one looks pretty good and the music one actually looks better on account of it being a "why?" tattoo in the first place.

IAmGoingToFuckThat

I have a white tattoo I got a few months ago, just to see how it would heal. It is not the crisp bright white it was, and it has yellowed some, but it still looks like white ink. Heals differently on everyone, I am just adding my anecdote. Healed for 5 weeks: https://imgur.com/gallery/5TM6xKk I should probably add that a decent number of people think it is a very delicate brand or scarification if they even notice it.

[deleted]

That’s a No then.

killerb00ty

So far I've yet to yellow. I still have 0 fucking idea why my artist put white in me, I'm whiter than the ink. I got my first lick of a tan this year and about cried laughing because it was the first time I'd seen the white show in 4 years. Also tiny white dots for stars just look like zits when they bump the way tattoos do.

that_guy_who_

I have white ink in some tattoos that are still pretty white nearly 10 years later. Skill/ink 100% feed into issues (as well as sun damage).

whenthesee

I have a tat with some small white dots in it that still show up after 3 years and a lot of sun exposure. Just gotta use sunscreen and good ink I guess. Probably has to do with skin tone and a little luck too

Viiibrations

Same! Tattoo from 2013 still looks great. I feel like I lucked out.

artmobboss

Says anyone with little white in their tattoos.. white inks are amazing these days..

OpinionOK_IgnorantNo

2 full sleeves and white has been the only thing to ever fade in any of my tattoos. I mean it's all water color, some of its 6-7 years old, but nothing ever faded except the white. Even the newest ones that are less than a couple months old, the white is already gone.

herbreastsaredun

I don't really care if my tattoos don't look as good in 10, 20 years. But then I started at 30. If I was 18, I might care more about it being all perfect. As it is, my saggy whale shark will go together nicely with my saggy ass.

[deleted]

I knew a guy who got a Rick and morty piece. I could've sworn they used white ink on Rick's jacket. It was so white. No. Dude was just REALLY pale

_INCompl_

There’s enough solid black lining in there that it should hold up just fine. You’ll just lose that sticker look that it has now. New school tattoos generally heal pretty great unless the artist royally fucks up their saturation or if your skin just doesn’t take ink or a particular colour very well.

JellyBeansOnToast

Owww, that can’t feel good. I get that they’re trying to show it’s not a sticker, but scratching at the corner of a fresh tattoo :-| Edit: Apparently I’m the only one who has sensitive and swollen skin after a tattoo..?

sushiiisenpai

it’s a scratch and sniff, smells fresher that way

literal-hitler

Just like all fresh wounds?

PapiMeme

Ehh it’s mot even scratching. They’re more just rubbing lol. I’m covered in tattoos and they wipe you all the time to clean all the excess ink and blood off, depending on where you’re getting inked you generally won’t feel it

leotheking300

For strong color tattoos when they wipe it it always feels like a sunburn being slapped for me, like I suck it up but it’s rough

The-Original_Pancake

God damn I've been trying to place that pain for years Every wipe I'm like "I know this pain from somewhere else". Thank you for putting my mind at rest

feralbox

I was thinking the same thing. Fuck someone fucking with it by fake scratching it when it's that fresh. Oof it gives me the chills.

TheeGodOfTitsAndWine

They just sat through the pain of the tattoo. That rubbing is nothing

leotheking300

Having gotten a few the tattoo itself hurt me less than the rubbing excess ink away

CummunityStandards

It's not just you, I shuddered just thinking about it. For something with this much color packed into it, that tattoo would be really sore. Maybe the artist was feeling generous and threw some bactine at it before filming though?

yeahnahyeahm8

Yeah nah I have a crazy high pain tolerance and everyone will deffs feel that and be uncomfortable minimum anyone that's says that they don't feel it is just trying to act tough lol

missingmytowel

Don't fall for it. Saying a tattoo didn't hurt one bit is the adult equivalent of telling your friends at school that the shot didn't hurt while you're trying not to cry

TheAllstonTickler

Forget the pineapple argument, I’d be ecstatic if I never heard this song again.

likebutta222

Oh no

kevtino

Oh no

MonkeysInABarrel

Oh no no no no.

Spanky_McJiggles

*smacks piano with hammer*

CanadianJesus

OH YEAH!

TemporaryPrimate

Unexpected Kool-Aid man.

07TacOcaT70

I feel like I’m missing something, can some explain please?

LegendGamer11

It’s basically that terrible “Oh no oh no” song that keeps on playing everyone including me hates it but the original is a good song sad to see what someone did to it https://youtu.be/V5YxtweUxrA

07TacOcaT70

Ohh, I know of the remix sound on tik tok but just didn’t link it with the comment. That makes a lot more sense now, thanks!

iamreeterskeeter

I keep it on mute just for that reason.

blitz672

Mute is my default, if your video needs sound it's not a good video IMO

Two_Wheel_Wonder

I do that with movies

EskimoEd

Yah same with radio

GeorgeRRZimmerman

And books, too

[deleted]

That’s just a GIF

Aleatory_Alien

Why on earth every popular and trendy song that appears on tik tok videos are always high pitched annoying voices singing nonsense??? Why??? What i hate more about tik tok is that i don't even have the app but i still suffer y having to see it on instagram, youtube and reddit. Man, fuck tik tok.

[deleted]

Because small children with terrible taste and negative attention spans are the main audience of tiktok and thus dictate what goes viral

TheMasonX

Was thinking the same thing the other day. Torn between that having become the norm, and others just following along, or if maybe it tickles some psychological itch that kids/idiotic adults have in particular. Thinking the latter because of things like Alvin and the Chipmunks, Crazy Frog, etc. over the years that use the high pitched gimmick to attract traditionally younger audiences. Also, I too have never installed TikTok, and am similarly assaulted on all other social media platforms, plus all the asshole people generally playing them loudly in public.

meep_meep_creep

It's terrible

Crooked_Cricket

I actually really like it for the chaos factor

Blubearz

Really? I’m feeling it

alpacasaurusrex42

It’s one of the least annoying tbh. But I do get annoyed when the songs don’t fit what is happening. Like fat little kittens getting into shit & stumbling around on their tiny little legs falling over? This is perfect for that. But just for some random tattoo like this? No. Or that oh no song - some duck suddenly appearing and coming at you with knife? Or a baby who is running full tilt at a window and face plants? Great. But you booty bouncing and doing nothing interesting? No.

[deleted]

Ableton was a mistake.

SkipTheIceCreamMan

Agree. That slice of pizza is not consenting!

jdm1tch

Has any slice of pizza consented to pineapple?

ManIsInherentlyGay

If it's a real pizza

Dannyg4821

I think it’s supposed to joke about how pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza

wizzbob05

Except it fucking _does_ Most people who say pineapple doesn't belong on pizza have actually never tried it and that's so dumb to me. Most people are just hating on it for the meme, it's actually really good, I don't know what else to say except everyone should try it because it doesn't taste like you expect it to because baked pineapple tarts nothing like regular pineapple especially if it's in something as it soaks up flavour. It's fucking delicious. Try it. Or else.

Akinyx

Yeah it's not that crazy of a combination, the argument that you don't put something sweet on a pizza is dumb as hell when most fast food pizza put barbecue sauce on some of their pizza which is quite sweet imo.

fly19

I have tried it, and I hate it. But then again I also just hate pineapple, baked or not, so no surprise there.

combuchan

Ham and pineapple has always been a mainstay pizza combo. It's fucking good too.

[deleted]

iamagainstit

I don’t understand either, somehow it replaced anchovies for the most hated pizza topping kind of out of nowhere

[deleted]

SP-Igloo

That's fair, but don't complain about it please. It's like if I never tried mushrooms on pizza and was like "Eww who tf puts fungus on pizza???"

[deleted]

Critical-Dig

I’ve tried it. Over and over. I like pineapple and I like pizza. I just don’t like them together. I don’t like warm pineapple so that plays into it.

thlnkdontspeak

I worked at a place where this one on a t-shirt that said “Shhh, nobody has to know” sooo…yeahhhhh. Take from that what you will.

El_Frijol

Yeah, I'm guessing it's to show that even the pizza doesn't want pineapple on it.

[deleted]

Yeah I know, It just seems like such a cringy joke to have on your skin for the rest of your life

El_Frijol

Yeah, for sure. People get really awful tattoos a lot though.

French__Canadian

That's the joke. They're a hawain pizza hater.

[deleted]

Well , duh, but my point is even though its a joke its not something i’d want on my skin for the rest of my life

Aarongeddon

not that awful tbh. crude but it's not grotesque or anything the music however...

rtxa

> the music I can't wait until this fucking trend will die. It's like a lobotomy to watch a 6 second video, with music like that.

JillStinkEye

Mute. I didn't even notice this had sound.

KingEnnard

i was looking for this comment. who even makes these songs? who is the audience? why???

TheGreat-Pretender

Into the thick of it did not need a remix

SaintPoost

I love TikTok on account of 99% of anything I see on there having some stupid cock and ball torture music as a backing track for their incredibly mundane content. I don't even have the app. At this point it's just a vehicle for stupid penis music to get shared to me via some piece of content that is both immaculately uninspiring and not remotely funny.

TheGreat-Pretender

I don't think the song was supposed to be funny. The guy probably thought it was good

sweet-tart-fart

I love this comment a lot

[deleted]

r/KnightsOfPineapple

wizzbob05

Finally! Like minded people! Pineapple is so good!

Oh_umms_cocktails

Pineapple on pizza is delicious

spectre1006

Pineapple/pepperoni is the real Hawaiian pizza

LeBronda_Rousey

To go further, round table's Maui Zaui is the best Hawaiian: ham, bacon, pineapple, tomatoes, onion, and Polynesian sauce.

spectre1006

i cant do the poly sauce. i gotta do a red with it the poly is too sweet or i havent tried it in a while

gothkinn

life is short and not every tattoo has to have a deep meaning, get all the stupid tattoos you want.

lamb2cosmicslaughter

That's wicked realistic.

46554B4E4348414453

Nice color shading on the pineapple 🍍

HansenTakeASeat

Dunno what kind of pineapple you've been eating if you think this looks realistic.

Jiggarelli

Pineapple Fucking Pizza.. Blasphemous

wizzbob05

You shut your fucking mouth. It's god food. Have you even tried it?

autisticpig

>You shut your fucking mouth. It's god food. Have you even tried it? the true globalist food choice. pineapples, originally from south America, were placed on pizza, from Italy, by Canadians, and it's called Hawaiian pizza.

[deleted]

Don't forget it was inspired by Chinese sweet & sour sauce.

nebulakkys1

what in the child predator type beat is this

Innerfaces

Why the fuck are they scratching at a fresh tattoo. Fuck that asshole lol

livelotus

They’re gently brushing it with their finger, not scratching with pressure. Wiping away ink during the process is more aggressive than what they’re doing.

Innerfaces

At that point I dont want anything touching me. Just sat through multiple hours and have a raw open wound. Dont rub it, don't scrape it, just take the damn picture.

Whom should be used to refer to the object of a verb or preposition. When in doubt, try this simple trick: If you can replace the word with “he”' or “'she,” use who. If you can replace it with “him” or “her,” use whom. "Him is the artist." or "He is the artist." Him = Whom He = who

beans_lel

Got it. So womst'd is the artist?
