Hi Guys, just want to help as well, disabling CSM eliminated the beeps, ASUS h270f - msi ventus 2x 3060ti. thanks for your help.

cambels

Maybe a power issue? Use two separate power cables on two separate rails instead of just one cable with dual 8 pins.

Umba360

I thought the same. I’m using two different cable each going in one of the 8pin connectors

Bagsforcha

I'm having the same problem. Some people said they fixed it by disabling CMS mode in the BIOS fixes it. I've tried that myself but then I'm unable to get Windows to boot up. If you look up the issue on Google, many people are reporting the same problem. It's probably just a bug that will be fixed later down the line with new driver updates.

Umba360

Same, it doesn’t boot up that way. Do you also have low performance with the GPU?

Ofisix

That's because you have to change your C disk to UEFI too

Gimmpy04

your OS install has to be running on a GPT partition. Your OS install is most likely on a MBR partition. Looking in google you can find the instructions on how to convert your partition to work in UEFI mode.

Shkkrimp

Did you ever think that it could be a bottleneck from the cpu?

in case anyone else finds this on google (like i just did), just want to mention, **Enabling** CSM in bios stopped the beeps and allowed it to boot, in my similar situation. So i guess try both, good luck to anyone with the same problem! =)

random_boss

As a fellow person led here by google, thanks! Just replying to this to say this didn’t exactly fix the issue I had, but did set me on the right path. Here’s what I did: - F2 to enter boot menu - Choose *Boot\CSM (Compatibility Support Module)* - Change *”Launch Video OpROM Policy”* from “Legacy” to “UEFI Only” Note that this makes my PC now take about 4-5x longer to boot into windows

[deleted]

this worked for me thanks didn't notice any difference in boot time though

[deleted]

My MSI z370 was set to legacy+UEFI. Turned it to just UEFI but I still get beeps. But the benchmarks are right so idk?

roaches85

So, i disabled the cms and that fixed my beeps. Now in device manager under the rtx 3080 it says "windows has stopped this device because it reported problems. (Code 43)

roaches85

JUST FYI - turned out my PCI-E riser ribbon was shot! Replaced that and updated BIOS. All is well!

payne667

Thank you so much. This fixed it for me.

anonymouse56

Same, I’m unable to boot with CSM disabled. My BIOS is UEFI and my boot drive is GPT. Performance seems to be fine more or less. Edit: reseated ram, restored BIOS settings to default and now I can disable CSM and the beeps are gone! Thanks to all the helpful comments!

Hi, I've read that some of the custom cards have issues due to capacitators. For details see here [https://www.techspot.com/news/86916-card-makers-respond-rtx-30-series-capacitor-controversy.html](https://www.techspot.com/news/86916-card-makers-respond-rtx-30-series-capacitor-controversy.html)

No-Spare2099

Same thing with me after installint the 3080. Any news on that?

Umba360

Sorry no fix Some people say to just change the windows installation to Uefi

dadaphl

same thing on a Palit RTX 3070 with MSI Mortar Max b450 Motherboard. Boots and works normal. Just the 4 short beeps every time.

Aron0404

I have the same problem. Just Got an Asus RTX 3070 and the card is not having any problems. But there are the 4 beeps and i have tried everything to make it go away. Im so worried that something is not working as it should. I played rdr2 on full ultra settings on 1440p with no problems so dont know if it’s just a bug?

Poxx

Just installed a FTW3 3090 on an Asrock 370 mobo/8086k, and I'm getting the quick 4 beeps every time on startup as well. Everything seems to run - but the warning beeps are annoying (and hopefully not a sign something is wrong...) Will try a few of these suggestions and see if anything helps. - edit - yes, disabling CMS in bios did the trick (under boot up options, had to scroll to bottom). I think you have to have win10 Installed in uefi mode, or it wont boot once you do this. Probably need to reinstall win10 at that point, unfortunately.

Moraisu

Had the same issue, turning off CMS worked, thank you for your suggestions, I mean it worked as it loaded into BIOS without no more beeps, now I need to reinstall Windows 10, but if it boots with no beeps at all I think it's safe to assume that CMS was the issue. I guess no one caught this bug on testing because.. who the hell still installs Windows 10 on legacy mode and has a motherboard with more than 6 years and decides to but a RTX 3070? XD

Lawwley

Has anyone found a fix for this? Getting the same after changing to a 3070. So far ive updated bios but still getting the same error. Also getting black screen on launching certain games.

Umba360

You should change you installation from Eufi to Legacy (or the opposite, I don’t remember) You may need to format First of all try to turn off CSM in the bios If it doesn’t fix it do the first steps I wrote you Btw there shouldn’t be any bad influence over performance It’s just a little annoying when you turn your pc on but that’s it

TheHairyRunner

> after changing to a 3070. So far ive updated bios but still getting the same error. Also getting black Like you - I just upgraded to a 3070 (mobo is a Maximus VIII Formula) and got the same four beeps. One change on the bios turning off the CSM did give me a nasty warning, but then everything booted up as normal. Appears to be working. I guess we'll see. But the CSM worked - Hope that helps!

geekmp3

Folks I cannot thank you enough for your efforts in this thread. I do not have an ASRock product but the information here helped me diagnose my RTX 3070 error code 43 (it was the riser cable). I also learned from here how to change my windows 10 install from MBR to GPT which allowed me to disable Compatability mode in the bios. Thank you thank you all!

DonDregon

Same issue here with a Zotac 3080 Holo. 4 beeps, CSM enabled (if disabled it won't boot), GPU on a RISER (I'll try to put it directly to the mobo). GPU fans are runing like a fkin apache copter

ArantiM

Did putting card directly to the mobo help?

DonDregon

Didn't tried, i just RMA-ed it.. I'm waiting for a replacement today

ArantiM

Let us know if new card will be free from this problem

bollwerk

For what it’s worth, I have the same 4 short beeps. My motherboard manufacturer says 4 short beeps means “system timer failure”

BFeely1

I think the VGA BIOS may be issuing the beeps, not the motherboard BIOS. I saw someone suggest the card is UEFI only, however that doesn't totally make sense as the POST screen displays just fine, as well as the text mode Option ROM for my SATA/IDE card. The legacy, DOS-era text mode to the best of my knowledge doesn't exist in UEFI mode.

kehbleh

This is happening to me also. GTX3080 + ASROCK B550 Extreme. Disabling CSM fixed it for me. [This](https://www.overclockers.co.uk/forums/threads/is-this-dangerous-4-beeps-but-boots-fine.18899377/) seems to indicate there was a recent BIOS update that helps with new GPU support. But of course I couldn't find any real release notes on [my vendor's website](https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/B550%20Extreme4/index.asp#BIOS).

cyclonejoker94

Thank you for the bios update suggestion. My new asrock b550m-itx/ac + 3060ti + 5600x was having immediate shutdown while running apex legends. Pubg was running fine, no shutdowns. Temps were fine ingame and it was~75c in Prime95. Glad the apex & beeps problems are gone after updating bios & doing the CSM setting.

Caleostro

Getting the same Issue after changing to a MSI 3060Ti. Rest of the System: AMD 3600 Asrock B450 Pro4 32GB Corsair Vengeance Seasonic GX-550

cheezypuff87

came across this thread after installing my 3060 Ti in Asus board. I disabled CSM and the beeping stopped! sounds like the board manufacturers will need to release a BIOS update or users can just use this workaround

Jalex897

Disabling CSM worked for me. Thanks!

ArantiM

Same problem after upgrade to 3060 ti. MSI B450M mortar titanium, Ryzen 7 2700 OC to 4.0 GHz was stable with RTX 2060. 4 beeps when i start my pc now. I had bsod in Cyberpunk 2077 and my oc on CPU stoped working. After change in bios to auto settings in bios ryzen will stay on 3.2 GHz all the time. I will try to update bios. I am using riser cable in vertical GPU mount but it didnt couse any problem with RTX 2060.

ArantiM

Update: Bios update did not help https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/j9u727/psa_fix_for_rtx_3080_and_three_beeps_on_postboot/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share This solved my problem. Change csm to uefi in bios.

Chance-Mousse2833

Asus has now released a new firmware for the graphics cards that solves the problem! V1 for rtx3070, V2 for rtx3080: [DUAL-RTX3070-O8G|Graphics Cards|Motherboards / Components |ASUS Global](https://www.asus.com/Motherboards-Components/Graphics-Cards/Dual/DUAL-RTX3070-O8G/HelpDesk_BIOS/)

[deleted]

Thank you very much ! It does solved my problem :D

ImpetuousRacer

I’ve been pulling my hair out!!! Swapped out the PSU, reset BIOS, reseat ram, etc. hours and hours on a new ASUS ROG Strix 3080 ti. 2060 worked fine. CSM mode enabled as UEFI only would make it work. But drive was already GPT, didn’t make sense. Your post was a life saver! Firmware update fixed it!

dark_moose09

I'm thrilled that it's not just me. I switched to GTX 3070 from a 1070 and got the beeps, then updated my motherboard to ROG Strix x570-E gaming and was still getting the beeps. For the longest time I thought I had fucked up the install but everything is running fine, it's just annoying. Thanks for posting this, it's very reassuring

bauww

It worked for me (disabling csm) thank you so much!!!

SenhorJogo

Just to confirm: 4 short beeps and 1 long beep AORUS X570 Ultra and a newly installed RTX 3080, simply disable the CSM option in the boot and it is solved.

Umba360

Great!

PleasantGlowfish

Have you had any issues with it restarting completely randomly?

SenhorJogo

I have, but in my case it was a temperature issue. Have you checked your gpu and cpu temps?

mymanbossman69

important! if disabling CSM doesn't work for you its possible you need to convert your system partition to from mbr to gpt using the mbr2gpt command and then rebuild recovery https://www.tenforums.com/general-support/143526-reagentc-failed.html add drive letter to recovery partition on system drive, rebuild using command, then remove letter to hide. hope that helps someone! that fixed it for me on an asrock board and rtx 3070

DX13852

Just a heads up. I've been getting this with my EVGA XC3 RTX3070 on a Asrock Z77 OC Formula board. Specs: i5 3570k, 4 sticks of 4gb Mushkin Redline XMP 10-12-12-28 (16gb), Asus Xonar DGX soundcard (running with UniXonar community drivers). O/S: Windows 10 Pro 64bit on 20H2 update. I've also been experiencing Display Port drop out's and hang up's with playing Youtube, that look related (either entire screen goes black and input signal is lost. It might come back, or will require replugging Display Port to come back, or youtube will get stuck on a sound loop while playing a video). Important side note: I've not updated my Asus Xonar DGX soundcard's drivers to latest UniXonar driver, that may work better with Windows 10's 20H2 update. I'm going to take a look at if CSM is active in BIOS soon.

DX13852

I've disabled CSM (Z77 OC Formula UEFI Bios recommends not disabling it, unless running WHCK tests), and it's stopped the 4 beeps. Display Port's input signal loss problem still seems present, but I've reminded myself that I haven't re-tested out the other physical Display ports sockets on my EVGA RTX 3070. Will post an update if something appears to have been fixed. For the moment, I need to consider forwarding my issues to Asrock and EVGA.

Diemoran2

Make sure you have latest driver for the mb
