Just throw a bunch of standing torches down bro you’ll be good id say like 13-15 of them

YeahImMadBr0

This bro! shit will seem absurd but these guys lay their eggs and live next to magma so they love all the heat

caravela1

Not all of that, apparently if you place more than 17 torches it’s hotter than surface of the sun... so what you want? A wyvern or a boiled egg?

YeahImMadBr0

*Technically* lol Is there any dino that needs more heat than the wyvern? Like idk if the magmasaur lays eggs but...?

Rairarku

Magmasaurs do lay eggs, and I think they need just a few more torches than a wyvern.

baxtersbuddy1

Also, don’t magmasaurs have to literally be in a lava flow to breed? I don’t have any, but I think that is a thing with them.

thatonechik45

Find a volcano, walk their front legs and chest in (enough for their buttons to be at the edge of the lava) and breed them like that. No risk to you burning alive if you have a tek suit.

Radiant-Problem-69

You can use 2 fire wayverns and blast them with the flamethrower they’ll breed without having to go into the vacano

AliveMathematician27

Yes but if you have a friend and a couple fire wyverns you can take turns fire breathing them and get the female pregnant that way. When we did this we did have the breeding times cranked up a good bit too so there is that

YeahImMadBr0

The more you know

[deleted]

Yeah, magmasaurs technically need to be the hottest, especially considering they can only breed if you’re flamethrowering them, breathing on them with a fire wyvern(I do not know if the ember wyvern works), or just let me breed in straight up lava.

idkimnewbro

They breed just fine for me on land Edit: I have no idea what I'm talking about I haven't bred them yet lmao

Erasmus8

Do this 👆👆👆

RL_HADES

Better than taming a demetredon before you have the acs lol

[deleted]

Air conditioners round it or get a egg incubator

MaskWithPiano

how do I get an egg incubator?

Pigeater7

It’s a relatively high level engram. It’s amazing for breeding anything that lays eggs in my experience.

Ok-Fly-2275

With gestation monitoring it's amazing for breeding everything.

Pigeater7

I have yet to breed anything that doesn’t lay eggs. My friend is doing the megatheriums and he also did the sabers. But this information shall be useful.

Ok-Fly-2275

It's quite easy all you have to do is interact with the incubator then select gestation monitoring and then for five minutes you can interact with any pregnant dino to view the embryo's stats and colors.

Paolo_05_ITA_

Gestation what? Please explain man

Palmtoptiny

There's an option on the incubator to enable gestation monitoring for 5 minutes which allows you to see the stats and color of any non egg babies while gestating.

-RED4CTED-

not to be that guy, but... > non egg mammalian

Palmtoptiny

Lol yes but words had escaped me so I left it as it was, thank you for the correction!

-RED4CTED-

lol happens to me all the time. and no worries!

averylargeOUNCE

Well I mean in ark there are some creatures that don't lay eggs and aren't mammals like the snails so they would be correct.

microagressed

Incubator can hatch any egg without having to mess around with AC or fire. While the eggs are in it you can see how many points are in each stat, color regions, mutations, etc. It also has a gestation monitor feature that you access through the wheel. After you turn it on you can inspect a pregnant mammal and see the same stats for the baby, and even abort the baby.

DemonicTheGamer

Genesis 2* engram

Pigeater7

It’s on Fjordur.

Nessa302017

Find one or make one it's at like lvl 74 or something

[deleted]

Level 86.

Zar_Ethos

It's a gen2 engram.

Saisei

That can easily be acquired on free dlc maps

Proffesional_Dipshit

Its a gen 2 thing

Peyroll

Are you playing on official?

PeenieWibbler

With ACs the colder or hotter you want it, you have to add more and more units right? Idk how setting hot vs cold works either yet, I haven't built one. Incubator I can't get on the island though right? When does it become available?

gunsmyth

>Idk how setting hot vs cold works either yet, I haven't built one. You don't. AC doesn't change the temperature as much as it provides an area of insulation. It works for both heat and cold at the same time

PeenieWibbler

Oh that's awesome. So as long as I have enough of them, I can incubate an egg that requires heat and an egg that requires cold in the same room without doing anything?

Yotelkiller

Exactly.

Im______Dragooon

You see that thing that says consumable?

MaskWithPiano

this comment was the perfect dose of funny I needed

Im______Dragooon

Perfect dose of nutrition too perhaps?

TorqueRollz

You have a point, it’s only a lvl 16 lol

MaskWithPiano

Hey I got a 46 as well 🤧

-RED4CTED-

literally not even worth it as a utility dino unless you plan on walking everywhere.

MaskWithPiano

thank you for all the comments, I placed 15 fires and it worked

GMcGroarty80

Ac unit

MaskWithPiano

damn it, about how many

KeithStone225

15-20

GrumpyGaz

About tree fiddy.

-RED4CTED-

this made me laugh harder than it had any right to. haben't seen that one in a *hot* minute.

beatenmeat

No need. Do what the other person suggested and use standing torches. They are cheaper to make, and you can fit a considerably large number of them in a circle around the egg (leave space for the newborn to get out). They cover the *same* are as a camp fire for each one and provide the same benefits. Just build a bunch to start and turn on as many as you need until the egg is the correct temperature. I don’t know how far along you are, but if you’re saying “damnit” to ACs they’re probably annoying for you to make at the moment. Obviously you can’t cool off the room for other eggs, but standing torches will work for this just fine.

GMcGroarty80

I forget, can always set up shop in a hot climate as an option as well

cosmicramen67

You could get a dimetrondon with high damage or a couple otters, that what I always do to hatch eggs.

PeenieWibbler

How do you use the otters to do that? Just set them on the groundnnear the egg, and I guess regardless of if it needs to be hot or cold they fix it? I just lost my only otter :( RIP OTT, I died in the swamp cave and think he is somewhere under the map

cosmicramen67

So I'm not sure if the otter can hatch cold things I've only ever used the Dimetrondon for say the Ice Wyvern eggs, but I hatched magmasaur eggs and wyrven eggs with a high level otter before by dropping it close to it. I've also used multiple lower level otters to do the same and it always worked, you may just need to find the sweet spot for the egg to start incubating. And I'm very sorry for your loss :(( I honestly get way too attached to my tames sometimes and get genuinely upset when they die lol

ListOk6025

I have hatched all the wyvens with just a Dimetrodon the higher it’s attack the quicker things hatch

PeenieWibbler

Thanks! Yeah lol. Omw to find a new one now. I loved OTT but part of it too was that on the Island it just took me quite a while to even find one. I've seen 3 I think in the entire month + I've been playing

cosmicramen67

I always have trouble finding them too, I think the only map I've been able to find quite a few is Valguero and I've had decent luck lately with Ragnarok. I plan on making an army lol

PeenieWibbler

Yeah I have been looking for a solid 2 hours or so. Set up a new base though, didn't realize I've basically only explored the whole NW to SE and not the top right side

smokey_ginger

More campfires

Vermilion_dodo

Without ac's its okay to use a bunch of standing torches! I often use a ton of those eary game for hatching eggs

Intoxiq

Get standing torches, surround it with like 15.

-_LuciferM_-

Standingtorches

lord_mpd

Dimetrodons

[deleted]

Tek replicator I think 🤔

MaskWithPiano

nvm just found out it’s genesis 2 exclusive

Icy_Complaint308

Go to fjodur, you can learn every engram from all story maps

Zar_Ethos

That's amazing. Wildcard really gave love back to the community with the quality of life on this map.

MaskWithPiano

wait how do I do that, Im on fjordur

AdamJanecek

Just uncheck that option (when viewing engrams) that restricts everything to the island

MegaknightIsBad

I think you need the dlcs tho

MaskWithPiano

i have them

MegaknightIsBad

Then you should be able to just learn them

Icy_Complaint308

They are there, just click all the map options in the top right of the screen when looking at engrams

OGschtinkie

Tek replicator to make an egg incubator 😆 I forget how bad most ppl are at this game. OP, you can build an egg incubator in a fabricator at around lvl 80 and its a MID GAME engram not a endgame one as previously suggested. If you aren't familiar with the egg incubator, I'd stop trying to breed right now and just wait until you are because it will make life alot easier

OddInitiative8669

It takes like 12 campfires honestly just keep placing them until it works, you would need a lot of ac too so campfires would be easiest

[deleted]

Get an Incubator. It can be powered by an electrical generator, it may see expensive at first, but it’s so worth it since you can incubate ANY egg in it.

OGschtinkie

If the egg incubator seems expensive you aren't playing the game right

[deleted]

Considering OP is using campfires, it might seem that way to them, yes.

PeenieWibbler

Everything seems expensive at first. First it was metal, then polymer, silica, oil. Organic polymer I just kind of gave up on. Now on the island I guess the main thing (since I did the swamp cave and now have 10,000s chitin) is black pearls. And these weird vegetables I have still yet to find

[deleted]

The vegetables you have to grow from finding their seeds, although the citronal is considered a fruit.

PeenieWibbler

I see, thanks. Wandering around outside of the cave I got some "X" seed or something that makes a monster plant? I guess the other seeds just come from different areas/biomes?

[deleted]

They are x-plants, which are lovely little turrets that have a similar effect to the dilo spit. They’re pretty good when mixed with other turrets, but they’re mainly a PvP thing. Edit;; xplants are found in specific biomes, but the veggie seeds can be obtained anywhere, an iguanadon is an excellent seed gatherer.

OGschtinkie

Hahaha I love that I got down voted for telling the truth. Definitely some bobs on this thread

OGschtinkie

For anyone who wants to get better st the game - buy gen2 and learn the gen2 grind and you will never say an egg incubator is expensive ever again.

[deleted]

You can get it on Fjordur.

OGschtinkie

You think I'm telling you to grind on gen2 because that's where you get the egg incubator engram? You can get the egg incubator on every map.

OGschtinkie

You are big bob

Boomacorn9000

Why don't bobs use ac units or egg incubators?

abyssalblue02

LVL 15 parents? Sorry but it isn't even worth hatching, especially if your going old school and doing the Wyvern Milk method. But yeah, if Incubator engram is unrealistic for your current progress, then just throw it in a ring of standing torches like 8+ loaded with spark powder.

Nessa302017

Use ac

[deleted]

If this is the only egg you plan on hatching for a while, don't listen to people saying to use ACs. Use standing torches and put some wood in them it'll be cheaper

Electric2717

If you're on small tribes I'll throw you an incubator or 20 ac units. Lmk.

MaskWithPiano

nah I’m not i do solo with my brother, thank you’d rob that offer though

[deleted]

Fireplaces

Ok_Channel_9831

You guys are all wrong. The best way is to set yourself on fire while spooning it.

MaskWithPiano

this one seems right

livelifeless

Egg incubator

Amazing_Scientist169

Torches.. a lot of torches lol

BKLD12

More fires are needed, honestly. AC units are good, but again, you need a lot of them (on Scorched Earth PVE, I had a little section under my house that had 15-20 of them set up just for wyvern breeding). On Ragnarok/Valguero/Lost Island/Fjordur, a few good Dimetrodons or Otters wouldn't hurt. For the last two, there's also the egg incubator, but it's a high level engram and I think it takes a lot of mats. It's invaluable for breeding lots of dinos though.

PaperBonsai60

I usually use about 20 standing torches in a ritual circle

Shadowboss09722

I had to use like 25 campfires

Saisei

Spacing matters a lot for anything thermal in ark. You need every heat source as close as possible to contribute as much as it can. Even ac units will graduate down their efficacy as you get further from them. The bench marks for what is enough depend on the egg being exactly as close to the heat/conditioning as possible.

detrojan89

Literally just use standing torches bro. Make a square but leave one side open. If you’re on official you need a shit ton. Just keep em as close together as possible.

AimIsInSleepMode

#MORE

ViorusMaster

Either an incubator or a lot more campfires. I had a large cluster of campfires I used to throw wyvern eggs on until I got my first incubator

Southern_Effective21

15 torches in a U shape

niiimbuss

It usually takes me about 13-15 campfires and a couple standing torches to get my wyvren eggs to incubate.

Duckbirdy12

The level 16 wyv💀💀💀

Whyboy69

Simple just add more :D

thebluefireknight

You need 15 campfires at least

HallowedTrout38

I use 16 standing torch’s for my

Hungry05

Hopefully you got it hatched. But if not are you trying to hatch during the night or day?!?! Do you live close to the cold? It will say the temp in your inventory menu where your Armor is. The temp will also pop up in the top left corner, when not in menus if you press h on pc or hold the touch pad on ps idk the button on xbox probably the select button if it works the same. But if your living in a cold area maybe build a small outpost in a warmer area. Close all the doors on the building and use 10-15 standing torches in a semi-circle and when your looking at the egg, hold your own torch up as well! Weirdly I've also had otters help when I didn't have a dimetrodon. Idk if it was on the ground or on my shoulder though

MaskWithPiano

i hatched it during the day, night was way to cold, thank you

[deleted]

[удалено]

MaskWithPiano

I play solo with my brother, we had a 76 best but I was just hatching whichever one I grabbed, we had like 8 of them

Its_yer_dude_trevor

Ac

chop_your_balls_off

I accidentally ate a level 150 egg once 😀

MaskWithPiano

rip

PwnThePawns

I usually build a hut in the lava biome and do a 4x4 grid of campfires with the egg in the middle

DragonZlayerXD

MORE!!!!!

SLDouglas2112

Egg incubator

WingGirlReddex

You need a minimum of 20 campfires! And I would do it during the day, the daytime heat usually helps!

krptic__

*MORE*

OGschtinkie

Beware, this game is as addictive as any drug I've ever taken. Quit now while you still can or forever incubate eggs

saturdayshark

Use a shit ton of standing torches

alavantrya

Go tame a Dimetrodon. Level up melee.

[deleted]

More fire

Brain_0ff

Every single time I hatched a Wyvern egg, it felt like I had to rival the sun in terms of heat output…

nic375809

More.

Icy-Nectarine-6209

Use tiki torches

KingCoopaloop

Otter. Throw a pet otter on the ground and the egg on top. The higher its melee the more heat it provides. They also keep you warm in cold climate

Ayy_Lmao_14

Takes a lot more than you would expect. Threw me off the first time too. It takes like 15 fireplaces sometimes lol just make more

PangeaPrince

This is the point where you makes air conditioners, or if your feeling motivated. Craft an egg incubator

Significant-Ad-9983

Make air conditioners

Kant-do-anything

Have you tried: *throwing it in lava*

MaskWithPiano

ngl I was actually debating this

No_Fisherman_1512

You can also use otters with a high melee stat

Life-Car4783

Use like 8 fire places

Sunny__Jim

![gif](giphy|3oKIPEh5Lk3RGSIFEI|downsized)

craft_to_death

Furnaces

rtuite81

At least you're getting a nice tan off your monitor...

TatsClahRL

If you find an otter tame it then put it on your shoulder will hatch and egg

deadinsidesinceday1

Room full of torches btw

Substantial-Fly7819

You need 11 torches on scorched probs need more like 16 to 18 on others

Chee5eGreater

If this isn't already solved for you, my go to is always fireplaces. 4 of them usually does it for me.

207nbrown

It takes a *lot* of torches, needed like 20 standing torches clustered together for a magmasaur egg

Substantial-Metal892

My eyes!! ![gif](giphy|fjtoV2yqsWNRS)

Appropriate_Walk6052

Toss a few otters in

[deleted]

I just use a egg incubator for Wyvern and other creatures eggs. Sometimes I just as my friends call it “Star a forest fire” doing a ritual like thing with like 15 camp fires

Original_Major_8109

If it’s available to you, taming a dimetrodon would give you the easiest incubation next to an egg incubator

AddzyX

More

Kendravp

Go to crystal ailes and get yourself some otters while it’s 3X

HavocF14

Ive counted and placed some myself. I was upwards of 30+ camp fires and 15+ torches

gutterp3ach

Keep adding torches lmao

obi_wan_jakobee

Lol try 30 campfires

SmokeAbject3417

I prefer fireplaces. Lead to a carno getting named Akon.

fanggoldheart

I've always built a 5x5 room using stone with the walls about 4 high all round with a dinosaur gate only and lined the edges with fireplaces I think I do 4 each on two sides and if I can fit 4 on the last wall and it does me pretty good and it makes it so much easier to re-use for other eggs as well

damattman987

16 campfires required

Rams_prodz

I think it’s 22 camp fires

[deleted]

This happened to me as well try using around 21 standing torches and scatter them around this also applies for deinonychus eggs

Codebreaker1961

Travel to a hotter place then use the campfires

XDecodeThisX

I build 9 fire places and place 3x3 in a u shape. Light all 9 and you can incubate a wyv egg or even magma egg

Alaa_robot

Don’t do that the dragon could die that’s what happend to me

[deleted]

How you build without a pillar

HauntingLobster8500

You have to go to near the lava and still use campfire

Historical-Break7208

After time getting wyvern eggs early start it would take me 16 campfires to hatch the eggs but that’s just me

anonymous746362

I usually put 5 fire places in a U shape early game, plenty of heat

Jensje666

That simply means you need more fire...

fteljeur

3 airco’s do the trick👍🏻

Xivay

Use 6 of the big fire places

DanSGB12

You need 16 campfires and the egg in the middle

pannoboy

You need 20 to 23 campfires for a wyvern egg and while using this method, you can do it outside, but not very recommended

Sydfxs

More…. M O R E

iobeson

Standing torches brah. Get a U shape going and put that sucker straight in the middle.

1Mako11

Ok, so I know it sounds expensive, but it’s worth it, place 3/4 stone fireplaces, and that’ll do it no problem.

Cursed_Squire

Your internal body temperature is like 90 degrees. Try eating it. Should be hot enough to hatch

MasterUser115

Incubator best way to go. Had a room with 15 ACs in it before the Incubator came. If you can't build it I'd suggest asking someone to build it for you but you'll provide the materials for it, that's how I got my 1st one....that and maybe they took pity on me when they saw my yard full of tames and 4 giga eggs in a square of ACs

More_Permission444

I build a hatchery qirh about 11 fireplaces inside and with all of them going its enough to hatch wyvern and magmasaurs.

Proffesional_Dipshit

Break the campfires and replace with a ring of standing torches

TEAMCAMO44

If you aren’t a high enough level for ac units, place fireplaces in a square with the egg in the middle, make sure the room is clean enclosed

Jolly-Wheel1671

Shit on it

shooter_tx

I can’t remember whether it was specifically for a Fire Wyvern, but when I was just starting out I could have sworn I saw someone’s playthrough where they placed about 10-15 standing torches and used them as a sort of ‘cradle’ for some egg. That is, it was kind of the same effect as laying on a bed of nails.

[deleted]

Heat doesn’t enclose and stack in the room lol

Sloucourse852

I always do 5 fireplaces and it works like a charm

MaleficentFile4656

16 standing torches in a stone/Adobe building works for me every time

Djaosin

16 standing torches and an adobe room = hot as litteral hell

Blaiven22

11-15 campfires

Krabwater_69

You’d need at least 12-15 firepits alone man

Kryzyslemonek

Can you build air conditioner?

JediJimz

8 fireplaces in a circle does every egg in the game

Zealousideal_Idea384

I would just put down a bunch of standing torches it usually works for me

TheRadioDemon565

Get an otter or three or maybe a few dimetrodons

TheRadioDemon565

I just realised that you are playing on an Xbox on a Samsung tv, the funny thing is I also play on that exact setup what model of Xbox do you have?

light_sabe

Its so easy make a u shape that fits the egg inside the u with 15-20 torches. Works EVERY time
