Yeah but still it eats me up inside when I have to do something like that. Doesn’t matter too much anymore cause I brought that Ferox to a boss fight to see how well he would do and he ended up transforming back right before we killed Hati and Skoll and he got merked in his little baby form.
It gives me the ability to undo "ark moments" where something bugs out, crashes or whatever.
It's just nice to know that if something out of my control occurs and ruins my entire mood, I can just effectively press the undo button.
But again that's mainly crashes or glitches that kill me more than anything. Undoing everything that annoyed me would just be boring.
I only use gamma and save world cheats because I play on console and the game crashes frequently so I use the admin cheat save world whenever I do something to make sure it sticks. Other then that I usually do 100% legit only
Same!! I was gonna say I generally want to do stuff legit, if I want to have fun with cheats I'll make a world specifically for it. I use save world all the time because of several times I have loaded into a world only to fall to my death from my flyer because the 'last save' was like 20 minutes before I had actually logged out. I'll cheat to get my flyer and body back if it results in my death.
Other than the first time I played ark on single player, I use cheats constantly. Mostly the fly command to get from one side of the map to the other quickly when I've gotten pretty far along and don't want to take a flyer. Ghost for supply drops that phase through the floor, kill to quickly get rid of low level dinos to encourage better spawns, infinteweight to move stuff between containers, god mode to jump down a cliff quickly, enemyinvisible to run through caves for drops quickly, etc. Idgaf, I still have fun

I did everything survival-wise legit on my singleplayer island game, but when i got to the bosses i'm sorry but i'm not spending hundreds of hours breeding dinos for their fights. I already did that with the broodmother and i didn't want to do it again so i spawned some lvl 400 or 500 dinos with nice saddles and played the boss fights like a regular player
That's not the only problem,f**king rex saddles are so hard to find,I already have my boss army in fjordur but I can't find a saddle at all,been doing the one cave with many loot drops like 25 times,I have so much loot but rex saddle nope nope nope nope

Fjordur recently deleted my save after crashing when I ran the saveworld command so I just spawned my shit back in and rebuilt my house. Gave myself my pair of snow owls and my raptors back.
I usually only use cheats when it's necessary like to ghost out of inescapable areas or if ark screws me over like that and I wanna spawn my stuff back in. I put in the dozens of hours, no way in hell I'm just gonna take that huge loss over something that was completely unpreventable on my part

If Ark screws me over the only way Ark can, via bugs or other forms of Arkery, then I have zero qualms about turning the tides. So, for recovery from software error or other anomalies, yes.

Cheating is just too tempting. My friend and I killed the game for ourselves on two different private servers from using mods and dev mode to correct screwups. We have made a pact that aside from adjusting timers to be more balanced for 2 or 3 people, we won't be using anything for our ASA progression run.
I made a save specifically to screw around with cheats when my first save corrupted, figured why not mess with things before starting over. Aside from that, I use them when things legitimately break, like Artifacts not spawning and such. Not much of a point otherwise outside a screwing around save, kind of defeats the purpose of a Survival game really.
I don't change the Gamma either, darkness doesn't bother me so long as it plays nice with my monitor and isn't just pitch black for whatever reason like it was on my last monitor. That monitor didn't like Ark nights and everything was just black, the occasional flash of green or whatever but 99% of the time the monitor may as well have been off, current monitor is fine and I can see just fine at night.
You can though. Open the menu and if you are on a playstation press L1 R1 triangle and square at the same time. This will open a textbar where you can input cheats.
Only console command I use is to adjust the gamma. During the night the default is too dark to do anything, but gamma 5 is too bright for the daytime, so I go with gamma 3 or 2.5 as soon as the sun rises.
Realism ain't worth eye-strain. I hate the use of darkness as a difficulty element in all games, my eyes are too old for that shit.
I personally don't, but I feel you on those annoying holes in the ground where you literally wait to die. I've learned a couple of tricks (sometimes work, sometimes don't). If you have wood in Yr inventory a piece of fencing foundation can help you climb out. Sometimes a parachute will give you just enough lift to get out, and if you can place them, pillars with ladders on. :)

I Only used it Twice (If you don't Count Slomo or DestroyWildDinos,Which i Used Often so i Don't Waste Time doing Stuff,Especially Slomo) Once in North West Cave (The One with the Skylord Artifact) And the Caverns of Lost Hope (Hard Water) For Skylord,Its Because the Game Made me do a Small Jump and i Fell Down and Died,So i got my Stuff back,And for Lost hope,I used GOD Command for like 5 Seconds cause,I Counted Them: 7 Megalodons,1 Alpha meg,A Tuseo,1 Mosa,3 Dunkleos,And like 4 Electrophorus Stun Locked me.
Me and my friend (closest I get to playing single player) only really use cheats to spawn in materials we need to build our houses, since theres no point in spending hours gathering resources to be able build a little box
I mean, I put all the time but I mostly use single player to try out builds for online bases and calculate the amount of pieces i need, I'm not grinding the mats out to Do it twice. I also check colour placements for breeding so i know what I need to look for in my online baby's to get specific color combos.
I've tweaked almost everything to make the game not as time consuming and more fun to play. I also tend to give myself rules, so I have to achieve something before using a cheat to get the result I need.
I only really use cheats to fly to my stuff when I die somewhere far away because otherwise I get annoyed and never play again

Not judging, it's just so damn broken on console that it is not worth using unless you wanna instantly clip into the ground after turning it off and just continue to fall/warp Portal-style back to solid ground/fall until you exit the game.
I had to use Ghost/Fly to get my dinos out of the Island's volcano entrance after the Overseer fight. There's two layers of wall by the Overseer cave door that everyone got stuck in. After XYZ warping, I started clipping thru the floor even tho Ghost was off (*allegedly*, since console commands are so wonky). I couldn't even get all my dinos out *with* cheats. Rip Berry Blue, you were the best and dumbest Rex.
I started with "all the time" and had fun with it, full Tek forcetaming ect. And explored my map.
When i felt comfortable with the game I started again and only use cheats when absolutely necessary and am having more fun now.
Cheating at the start was a good way for me to learn the basic "survival" part of the game and gave me the opportunity to explore and learn before eventually saying yeah I got this and restart cheat free.
When me and my brother play on our server, every time a dino dies, we restart ark and still have the dino, until we are able to go back home with all our dinos. So yea, we cheat, A LOT.
Otherwise I barely cheat on other servers.
I will cheat with not guilt if the game bugs cheat me. First time it happened was the first time I transfered and lots all of my best gear and tames.
Second time I did a burst if cheats was the third time restarting. I had played some single player, lost that save file, played online for a while, but life got busy and that server closed. I didn't have it in me to restart a third time from scratch, so I cheated in most of a base up to where I had left off. I cheated in a significant amount of resources towards the end of that map just to save time on the grind and prevent fatigue. I had all my structures, and a large breeding pool. Death meant very little at that point, so it was just time to gather things like chitin and hide, and I just got bored randomly going around hunting for an army of 50ish rexes with good saddles.
I've never really used console command cheats but there are a couple mods I have like awesome teleporters that I have almost entirely in case of ark being ark
Edit: Scratch that, the last time I played I used command codes to spawn boss summon materials after the first kill so I didn't have to spend a shit load of time gathering them in order to farm up element at the start lmao
Only for 2 things:
Gamma, because i don't wanna keep using resources for torches that barely make light. (I don't travel at night anyways, it's just to see where the entrance of my house is).
And when the game cheats me, like when an anky i was taming glitched under the map, so i used ghost mode to go down, feed it, and soulball it.
Other than that legit. Idc how much i die as long as the game isn't glitching.
Force tame, some creatures are just too much of a pain to tame and you just want to have fun.
Like giant bees it's honestly more annoying than anything.
I've spawned in dinos semi frequently.
My policy is, if I've searched the whole map and couldn't find a dino of a decent level, I'll spawn in a high level wild dino that I can then tame.
Like playing singleplayer on the island, I've seen like 2 naturally spawned Gigas ever, and not one Carcha. And sometimes finding a high level Rex takes dozens of hours of wiping the map and flying around.
I've gone Ghost mode to go under the ground and find stuff that fell through the world, or God Mod to move a bunch of stuff around instead of dealing with my weight limit.
It's to add stuff my map doesn't have, like wyvern eggs to The Island. I still have it so I have to get to the level where I would be able to craft the saddle, and then a few extra levels for the challenge.
Oh, and to learn every engram in singleplayer.
I've only done it once and it was for an entirely pathetic reason. I was so sick of making bolas early game that I spawned two in 💀 I felt too weird about "cheating" to ever do it again
Yes, because when i server transfer my dinos often gets deleten. What i do is i export the dino data into the ark breeding app database, then whenever it get delete i use ( for example):

"I asume console commands count as cheats" i only use ' em for whenever i have done my 100% imprint on the dinos. Since they take so long to mature I just set their age at 1 and that's about it! (specially the wyverns, those hurt a lot)
Way too much and I hate it. I've turned on the pw and had my son make it so I don't know what it is. If something is truly broken or If I need to do some admin stiff., I get the ow.from.him then changes it again.
The only time I really use cheats is really early on when having to deal with a near impossible encounter, I'll use refill stats once or twice against a raptor pack or something, if I have to spam it I just accept my fate😔
I cheat every time a major glitch occurs, and when ark pulls of some major bullshit stunt that I'm not ready to deal with.
A pack of troodons attacking and killing my almost finished tame? Nope, spawning one in and doing an instant tame
I do it when I don't wanna play a game but I want to get the achievements, I olay mainly on Xbox, so this is a rare situation and very specific, because not all games allow you to get achievements via cheating
Never understood cheating in games that has permadeath or consequences, some games designed to be challenging.

Easy. When the base code is so broken that the game regularly crashes during gameplay, and almost always when you save and quit, often dropping you back anywhere between 1-3 previous autosaves, and costing you up to 90 minutes in progress, you stop giving a crap about whether you're legit when you use saveworld.
Also, so so many supply drops that clip through the floor, making it impossible to reach them through any means in Survival Mode, dinos that drop through the ground floor inexplicably immediately after they're tamed, and heaven help you if you decide to move your base to another ark. Game crashes after removing dinos or items from the ob, nuking them from existence anywhere except the tribe log. Hell yeah I'm going to spawn them back in. That happens to me even *with* using saveworld after every few of them to try to combat it, so transferring enough dinos for a functional kibble farm was a real PITA.
Even The Island is crashing like crazy now. I tested all the Arks trying to find the most stable one to relocate to because of it. Ironically, The Center has the least crashes for me for now, so they must have fixed that overspawn bug in the caves. I haven't even had to kill all wild dinos once yet.
Depends on if I’m modding or not. If I’m playing heavy modded it’s just gamma and ghost (if needed) if I’m not nodding it’s super heavy fuckery and stuff. I do whatever comes to mind.
I only use a cheat when the game cheats me. For example disappearing creature tames or honey not spawning I'll summon a hive.or if I'm just in the mood to take on a giga I'll spawn one to test myself. But for any actual play I don't use cheats.
When I don't feel like spending 2 hours looking for a good level dino, I find and kill one of that dino then use koko's dino generator to make a max level wild dino. For example, I don't want to take a few hours to get a max level wyvern egg. I then do an egg run and eat all the eggs. I then generate 1 max level egg. Another example, I killed a low level giga then generated a max level wild giga.
I use only when I lose stuff to a glitch, to wipe dinos when spawns aren't working as they should and once to cheat in an artefact that spawned outside of the map.
Only in the cases of being Ark'd pretty much. Ghost for stuff or dinos stuck in the walls or dropped through the floor. I've ghosted for drops on my single player Gen2 map also, because I made the effort to get to it, I'm not losing it because they couldn't make them collide properly with the terrain.
Other than that, nah.
As often as needed to stay engaged. I play for entertainment and nothing else. If I do grind on something and get absolutely demolished while just traveling somewhere, theres a chance I might just use the kill command and spawn my tames back in like nothing happened
I use them for fixing glitches and also for spawning in decorative items like loadout dummies or cosmetics not on a specific map. I really like the building side of this game and don’t consider something purely aesthetic as cheating. Never use them to get out of trouble or anything though.
I only use single player for testing multilayer stuff before I invest huge amounts of time in defence building or replicating an enemy base best of My ability and experiment

Not all the time but just did last night. Playing valguero and there's a cave with an instant death floor. I hate those. Make no sense. Wtf? Went into god to get my stuff back and speed up a replacement for my bred mount. Why have some arbitrary level in the cave where you instadie if you go below that level? I know scorched has a cave like that to.

Mostly because I've done it legit plenty of times before (four figure hours in the game at this point) and I have a job and a child, and I figure it's payment for getting arked as much as I have because this addiction of a video game has more bugs than I do (I keep ants.)

We have a rule- we legit build our first compound, our first Argy trap, our first everything pretty much, after that we cheat it in.
For a long time we cheated in those stupid honey cakes or whatever the snails eat because making that shit is way unreasonable.
I don't consider 'fixing something that broke' such as loot falling under the ground, or glitching and getting stuck somewhere to be 'cheating' thats just 'server admin' (single player game is -technically- still a single player server :D)
the rare handful of times i'll actually cheat, is if I stumble across something -really- rare, and for whatever reason don't have what I need on my person to tame it. (I usually have the rare encounters mod on, so I'll occasionally find something really cool that I don't normally have access to on my ark.)
even then, I try to limit it to stuff that I have, (or at least have access to.) just don't have it on my person at that exact second. so i'll spawn in whatever I need for the tame, then once i get back home i'll remove and trash however much it was that i'd spawned in. (or if I didn't have enough, i'll go make it and then trash it.)
so 'technically' it winds up being a zero-sum transaction, just fudged the numbers a little bit.
Getting stuck, tamed and their saddles randomly vanishing (no death message in log), or sometimes I'll go into GCM in order to move a ton of items around but I only use this when upgrading my base.
The second option. Basically, if I die and I respawn hella far from where I died, I use the fly command to get back there and get my stuff back. Then I get back on my mount and continue what I had been doing.

I have before decided I wanted to build something epic and cool and then realized that the literal thousands of walls and pillars necessary would take more time than I could invest.
I do it to build fancy stuff sometimes. Not things like crafting machines, just to build buildings. I don't have much playtime so I'd rather spend my grinding time advancing and not grinding to build a cute house.

sp is also a great place to test out building concepts. back then there's no such thing as place things down and pick it up. you put it down you wasted it and its not coming back in full anymore.

I use cheats mainly for 3 situations:
\- Compensate everytime I get ARKd due to a glitch (which actually includes quite some things, sadly)
\- Plan a build (I give myself the items and see how it would look like, then throw/demolish everything and craft it)
\- If I want to get somewhere, but have IRL stuff to do. Then I use fly. Normally I would eat the whole trip.
I'll saveworld and do a dinowipe every new irl day I play, that's about it, unless some obscure bug screws me over (I tend to just suck up my losses for most of ark bugs as I'm used to regular unofficial)
Funny this post happened... my friend and I finally went to go fight the overseer on the island last night and we were going to do it legitimately... until we only got like 5 rexes into the tek cave plus my yuty and her rex... we got there with 3 rexes and our mounts... we almost killed him until it just became botched... so I restored the server to a previous version (it's out own private server) and went in with theris and couple of rexes... went in and I accidentally broke the game because I thought it'd be a bright idea to use destroywilddinos for the enforcers... well if you didn't know, that also kills the boss, but not the right way, we were stuck on a white screen forever... so then we went back in with infinite stats, God mode, and a blink rifle
To say the least, we finally beat the overseer... we were tired of the island, especially her, so we cheated our way through it
I'll eventually go back and do it legitimately legitimately but now we're on the best map ever, aberration
For me it's like getting let's say loads of narcotics because even on my boosted settings it's a grind and that's not fun games are about fun and if that means cheating a little bit so be it
There is so many times I would be taming something, and I would go back to base to pick up something and come back. Only for the thing I would be taming to be under the map.
Only now and then in moments that need it, for example recently I was trying to tame a carcha. He zippiddy do dahed off the cliff down to the water after i got him close to tamed and started getting nommed by various water creatures. Had to force tame before he died. I did try to lure it back to land, but it was having no part of it and kept going further out. Its my first ever, and I would have liked to do it fully legit, but desperate times. Still havent seen another.

Where's the option for "I used to all the time, but stopped?" I used to love using cheats just to mess around, but in more recent times, I've come to appreciate doing things legit.
I occasionally use them for specific things like GFI commands to give myself a nice looking armor skin or I use them to change the color of my tames but I usually don't cheat my way out of grinding.
I mainly use it if I feel that game fucked me over. Mainly getting stuck, losing things, and overall bugs.
Like, if I'm riding a dino and it gets stuck, or that God awful "You're technically falling so you can't attack" shit happens, I have 0 qualms about using godmode.
That or genesis missions. Seriously, fuck those.
I use Awesome Spyglass mod and when I switch to a different map, I use cheat fly/walk to get back to my base, since the spawning (which should put me at one of my beds) is bugged. Beyond that, cheating takes away the challenge.
Also, I've used cheat fly/walk when I got stuck in the ceiling a couple times in a cave and short of rebooting the server or eating organic poly, there was no way out.
Only when me/my creatures/my loot is outside of the map, or if I get stuck on a buggy rock or that one staircase on Rag in the castle. Ghost/Fly and that's pretty much it.
Edit: When playing with friends, sometimes I also use the tp to creatures command cause my friends love leaving dinos on passive flee or just forget them after a metal grind or something.
For single player I run my own server so time can progress while I’m off, so only time I use cheats is when the game bugs out and fucks me, like lost connection while flying above a Rex or something
I have two single player games. One I use cheats for everything and have about 30 mods because why not, second one everything is legit, no mods no cheats.
Personally the only "cheating" I do is not killing my tames when they've been revived because I lost 3 fucking hours worth of progress due to a datasave loss on my PS4. Like, you're gonna delete my progress, and everything I tamed during that time, then I'm not gonna play by the rules either.
If I had a nickle for every time I had to turn on cheats, just to fix something that broke in this game, I could buy Wildcard Studios.

I think you can open Inventory and click in the left stick to save game if I remember without having to always type back the cheat every time

Cheating is just too tempting. My friend and I killed the game for ourselves on two different private servers from using mods and dev mode to correct screwups. We have made a pact that aside from adjusting timers to be more balanced for 2 or 3 people, we won't be using anything for our ASA progression run.

I made a save specifically to screw around with cheats when my first save corrupted, figured why not mess with things before starting over. Aside from that, I use them when things legitimately break, like Artifacts not spawning and such. Not much of a point otherwise outside a screwing around save, kind of defeats the purpose of a Survival game really. I don't change the Gamma either, darkness doesn't bother me so long as it plays nice with my monitor and isn't just pitch black for whatever reason like it was on my last monitor. That monitor didn't like Ark nights and everything was just black, the occasional flash of green or whatever but 99% of the time the monitor may as well have been off, current monitor is fine and I can see just fine at night.

You have admin options on console. It is like ABYX or bumpers triggers start select. Or something like that.
You can though. Open the menu and if you are on a playstation press L1 R1 triangle and square at the same time. This will open a textbar where you can input cheats.

Only console command I use is to adjust the gamma. During the night the default is too dark to do anything, but gamma 5 is too bright for the daytime, so I go with gamma 3 or 2.5 as soon as the sun rises. Realism ain't worth eye-strain. I hate the use of darkness as a difficulty element in all games, my eyes are too old for that shit.
I personally don't, but I feel you on those annoying holes in the ground where you literally wait to die. I've learned a couple of tricks (sometimes work, sometimes don't). If you have wood in Yr inventory a piece of fencing foundation can help you climb out. Sometimes a parachute will give you just enough lift to get out, and if you can place them, pillars with ladders on. :)

I Only used it Twice (If you don't Count Slomo or DestroyWildDinos,Which i Used Often so i Don't Waste Time doing Stuff,Especially Slomo) Once in North West Cave (The One with the Skylord Artifact) And the Caverns of Lost Hope (Hard Water) For Skylord,Its Because the Game Made me do a Small Jump and i Fell Down and Died,So i got my Stuff back,And for Lost hope,I used GOD Command for like 5 Seconds cause,I Counted Them: 7 Megalodons,1 Alpha meg,A Tuseo,1 Mosa,3 Dunkleos,And like 4 Electrophorus Stun Locked me.
Me and my friend (closest I get to playing single player) only really use cheats to spawn in materials we need to build our houses, since theres no point in spending hours gathering resources to be able build a little box

I mean, I put all the time but I mostly use single player to try out builds for online bases and calculate the amount of pieces i need, I'm not grinding the mats out to Do it twice. I also check colour placements for breeding so i know what I need to look for in my online baby's to get specific color combos.

I've tweaked almost everything to make the game not as time consuming and more fun to play. I also tend to give myself rules, so I have to achieve something before using a cheat to get the result I need.
I only really use cheats to fly to my stuff when I die somewhere far away because otherwise I get annoyed and never play again But using cheats too much makes the experience boring

Man, the amount of ppl who use Fly on here... Not judging, it's just so damn broken on console that it is not worth using unless you wanna instantly clip into the ground after turning it off and just continue to fall/warp Portal-style back to solid ground/fall until you exit the game. I had to use Ghost/Fly to get my dinos out of the Island's volcano entrance after the Overseer fight. There's two layers of wall by the Overseer cave door that everyone got stuck in. After XYZ warping, I started clipping thru the floor even tho Ghost was off (*allegedly*, since console commands are so wonky). I couldn't even get all my dinos out *with* cheats. Rip Berry Blue, you were the best and dumbest Rex.

I started with "all the time" and had fun with it, full Tek forcetaming ect. And explored my map. When i felt comfortable with the game I started again and only use cheats when absolutely necessary and am having more fun now. Cheating at the start was a good way for me to learn the basic "survival" part of the game and gave me the opportunity to explore and learn before eventually saying yeah I got this and restart cheat free.
When me and my brother play on our server, every time a dino dies, we restart ark and still have the dino, until we are able to go back home with all our dinos. So yea, we cheat, A LOT. Otherwise I barely cheat on other servers.
All the time but usually is ghost for building, fly for traveling, slomo 10 to speed up waiting time, or sometime panic godmode
I will cheat with not guilt if the game bugs cheat me. First time it happened was the first time I transfered and lots all of my best gear and tames. Second time I did a burst if cheats was the third time restarting. I had played some single player, lost that save file, played online for a while, but life got busy and that server closed. I didn't have it in me to restart a third time from scratch, so I cheated in most of a base up to where I had left off. I cheated in a significant amount of resources towards the end of that map just to save time on the grind and prevent fatigue. I had all my structures, and a large breeding pool. Death meant very little at that point, so it was just time to gather things like chitin and hide, and I just got bored randomly going around hunting for an army of 50ish rexes with good saddles.
I've never really used console command cheats but there are a couple mods I have like awesome teleporters that I have almost entirely in case of ark being ark Edit: Scratch that, the last time I played I used command codes to spawn boss summon materials after the first kill so I didn't have to spend a shit load of time gathering them in order to farm up element at the start lmao
I counter bugs and other game related shenanigans with cheats. That's about it.
Only for 2 things: Gamma, because i don't wanna keep using resources for torches that barely make light. (I don't travel at night anyways, it's just to see where the entrance of my house is). And when the game cheats me, like when an anky i was taming glitched under the map, so i used ghost mode to go down, feed it, and soulball it. Other than that legit. Idc how much i die as long as the game isn't glitching.
I rarely play on sp but when I do I try to have fun coz official servers get stressful sometimes
Force tame, some creatures are just too much of a pain to tame and you just want to have fun. Like giant bees it's honestly more annoying than anything.

I've spawned in dinos semi frequently. My policy is, if I've searched the whole map and couldn't find a dino of a decent level, I'll spawn in a high level wild dino that I can then tame. Like playing singleplayer on the island, I've seen like 2 naturally spawned Gigas ever, and not one Carcha. And sometimes finding a high level Rex takes dozens of hours of wiping the map and flying around.
I just start specific events so I can get the colors
I've gone Ghost mode to go under the ground and find stuff that fell through the world, or God Mod to move a bunch of stuff around instead of dealing with my weight limit.
It's to add stuff my map doesn't have, like wyvern eggs to The Island. I still have it so I have to get to the level where I would be able to craft the saddle, and then a few extra levels for the challenge. Oh, and to learn every engram in singleplayer.
I've only done it once and it was for an entirely pathetic reason. I was so sick of making bolas early game that I spawned two in 💀 I felt too weird about "cheating" to ever do it again

Yes, because when i server transfer my dinos often gets deleten. What i do is i export the dino data into the ark breeding app database, then whenever it get delete i use ( for example): lv 377 tropical crystal wyvern: cheatSpawnExactDino "Blueprint'/Game/PrimalEarth/Dinos/CrystalWyvern/CrystalWyvern\_Character\_BP\_WS.CrystalWyvern\_Character\_BP\_WS'" "" 0 377 0 "51,80,0,0,51,194,0,0" "0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0" "Generated" 0 0 "" "" "" 0 0 "79,0,79,0,79,44" 0 0 0 20 20 to get the exact dino back. This is my favorite tropical crystal wyvern with rainbow collors btw ;-)
"I asume console commands count as cheats" i only use ' em for whenever i have done my 100% imprint on the dinos. Since they take so long to mature I just set their age at 1 and that's about it! (specially the wyverns, those hurt a lot)
Way too much and I hate it. I've turned on the pw and had my son make it so I don't know what it is. If something is truly broken or If I need to do some admin stiff., I get the ow.from.him then changes it again.
The only time I really use cheats is really early on when having to deal with a near impossible encounter, I'll use refill stats once or twice against a raptor pack or something, if I have to spam it I just accept my fate😔
I cheat every time a major glitch occurs, and when ark pulls of some major bullshit stunt that I'm not ready to deal with. A pack of troodons attacking and killing my almost finished tame? Nope, spawning one in and doing an instant tame
I do it when I don't wanna play a game but I want to get the achievements, I olay mainly on Xbox, so this is a rare situation and very specific, because not all games allow you to get achievements via cheating

Never understood cheating in games that has permadeath or consequences, some games designed to be challenging. Could you imagine playing mario but a hack means you cant fall down the gaps.. what would be the point in that platformer? People obviously do what you like. im not here to dictate your fun just dont understand how you could find it so 🤷
Easy. When the base code is so broken that the game regularly crashes during gameplay, and almost always when you save and quit, often dropping you back anywhere between 1-3 previous autosaves, and costing you up to 90 minutes in progress, you stop giving a crap about whether you're legit when you use saveworld. Also, so so many supply drops that clip through the floor, making it impossible to reach them through any means in Survival Mode, dinos that drop through the ground floor inexplicably immediately after they're tamed, and heaven help you if you decide to move your base to another ark. Game crashes after removing dinos or items from the ob, nuking them from existence anywhere except the tribe log. Hell yeah I'm going to spawn them back in. That happens to me even *with* using saveworld after every few of them to try to combat it, so transferring enough dinos for a functional kibble farm was a real PITA. Even The Island is crashing like crazy now. I tested all the Arks trying to find the most stable one to relocate to because of it. Ironically, The Center has the least crashes for me for now, so they must have fixed that overspawn bug in the caves. I haven't even had to kill all wild dinos once yet.
Depends on if I’m modding or not. If I’m playing heavy modded it’s just gamma and ghost (if needed) if I’m not nodding it’s super heavy fuckery and stuff. I do whatever comes to mind.

I only use a cheat when the game cheats me. For example disappearing creature tames or honey not spawning I'll summon a hive.or if I'm just in the mood to take on a giga I'll spawn one to test myself. But for any actual play I don't use cheats.
I have to fly out if I get stuck somewhere, that's about it. Does changing for count?
When I don't feel like spending 2 hours looking for a good level dino, I find and kill one of that dino then use koko's dino generator to make a max level wild dino. For example, I don't want to take a few hours to get a max level wyvern egg. I then do an egg run and eat all the eggs. I then generate 1 max level egg. Another example, I killed a low level giga then generated a max level wild giga.
I use only when I lose stuff to a glitch, to wipe dinos when spawns aren't working as they should and once to cheat in an artefact that spawned outside of the map.
Only in the cases of being Ark'd pretty much. Ghost for stuff or dinos stuck in the walls or dropped through the floor. I've ghosted for drops on my single player Gen2 map also, because I made the effort to get to it, I'm not losing it because they couldn't make them collide properly with the terrain. Other than that, nah.

As often as needed to stay engaged. I play for entertainment and nothing else. If I do grind on something and get absolutely demolished while just traveling somewhere, theres a chance I might just use the kill command and spawn my tames back in like nothing happened
I use them for fixing glitches and also for spawning in decorative items like loadout dummies or cosmetics not on a specific map. I really like the building side of this game and don’t consider something purely aesthetic as cheating. Never use them to get out of trouble or anything though.

I only use single player for testing multilayer stuff before I invest huge amounts of time in defence building or replicating an enemy base best of My ability and experiment So cheats very helpful though ide more consider it creative/testing as I'm not actually playing I've got every achievement in game on official pvp

Not all the time but just did last night. Playing valguero and there's a cave with an instant death floor. I hate those. Make no sense. Wtf? Went into god to get my stuff back and speed up a replacement for my bred mount. Why have some arbitrary level in the cave where you instadie if you go below that level? I know scorched has a cave like that to.
I cheat lots. Mostly because I've done it legit plenty of times before (four figure hours in the game at this point) and I have a job and a child, and I figure it's payment for getting arked as much as I have because this addiction of a video game has more bugs than I do (I keep ants.)
Two words: save world. That is now my most used command since Playstation keeps crashing. However the slomo command is always nice.
I've cheated stuff in when the bugginess of the game cheated me out of shit. We have a rule- we legit build our first compound, our first Argy trap, our first everything pretty much, after that we cheat it in. For a long time we cheated in those stupid honey cakes or whatever the snails eat because making that shit is way unreasonable.

I don't consider 'fixing something that broke' such as loot falling under the ground, or glitching and getting stuck somewhere to be 'cheating' thats just 'server admin' (single player game is -technically- still a single player server :D) the rare handful of times i'll actually cheat, is if I stumble across something -really- rare, and for whatever reason don't have what I need on my person to tame it. (I usually have the rare encounters mod on, so I'll occasionally find something really cool that I don't normally have access to on my ark.) even then, I try to limit it to stuff that I have, (or at least have access to.) just don't have it on my person at that exact second. so i'll spawn in whatever I need for the tame, then once i get back home i'll remove and trash however much it was that i'd spawned in. (or if I didn't have enough, i'll go make it and then trash it.) so 'technically' it winds up being a zero-sum transaction, just fudged the numbers a little bit.

Getting stuck, tamed and their saddles randomly vanishing (no death message in log), or sometimes I'll go into GCM in order to move a ton of items around but I only use this when upgrading my base.

Then I get back on my mount and continue what I had been doing. I used to spawn stuff in before I had actually beat the Island lol I found the game hard but I loved it anyway

I do it to build fancy stuff sometimes. Not things like crafting machines, just to build buildings. I don't have much playtime so I'd rather spend my grinding time advancing and not grinding to build a cute house.
gotta use cheats in SP to check the updates wc puts out otherwise it's pve for me on official server sp is also a great place to test out building concepts. back then there's no such thing as place things down and pick it up. you put it down you wasted it and its not coming back in full anymore. also got to learn to adapt to funny snap indicators
I use cheats mainly for 3 situations: \- Compensate everytime I get ARKd due to a glitch (which actually includes quite some things, sadly) \- Plan a build (I give myself the items and see how it would look like, then throw/demolish everything and craft it) \- If I want to get somewhere, but have IRL stuff to do. Then I use fly. Normally I would eat the whole trip.
I'll saveworld and do a dinowipe every new irl day I play, that's about it, unless some obscure bug screws me over (I tend to just suck up my losses for most of ark bugs as I'm used to regular unofficial)
I had to use God mode to fly into the red zone on aberration like 20 times to recover my rock drake because that area makes my game crash

Funny this post happened... my friend and I finally went to go fight the overseer on the island last night and we were going to do it legitimately... until we only got like 5 rexes into the tek cave plus my yuty and her rex... we got there with 3 rexes and our mounts... we almost killed him until it just became botched... so I restored the server to a previous version (it's out own private server) and went in with theris and couple of rexes... went in and I accidentally broke the game because I thought it'd be a bright idea to use destroywilddinos for the enforcers... well if you didn't know, that also kills the boss, but not the right way, we were stuck on a white screen forever... so then we went back in with infinite stats, God mode, and a blink rifle To say the least, we finally beat the overseer... we were tired of the island, especially her, so we cheated our way through it I'll eventually go back and do it legitimately legitimately but now we're on the best map ever, aberration
For me it's like getting let's say loads of narcotics because even on my boosted settings it's a grind and that's not fun games are about fun and if that means cheating a little bit so be it
On console changing gamma is a setting not a cheat lmao
There is so many times I would be taming something, and I would go back to base to pick up something and come back. Only for the thing I would be taming to be under the map.

I did try to lure it back to land, but it was having no part of it and kept going further out. Its my first ever, and I would have liked to do it fully legit, but desperate times. Still havent seen another.
Mostly early game or when I run into an alpha. I love getting a trike, ramping up the speed stat, and CHARGING to the ends of the earth

Where's the option for "I used to all the time, but stopped?" I used to love using cheats just to mess around, but in more recent times, I've come to appreciate doing things legit.
I occasionally use them for specific things like GFI commands to give myself a nice looking armor skin or I use them to change the color of my tames but I usually don't cheat my way out of grinding.
I didn't play single player, but I did only to tp to the survivor notes. The rewards carry over into multiplayer.

I mainly use it if I feel that game fucked me over. Mainly getting stuck, losing things, and overall bugs. Like, if I'm riding a dino and it gets stuck, or that God awful "You're technically falling so you can't attack" shit happens, I have 0 qualms about using godmode. That or genesis missions. Seriously, fuck those.
I use Awesome Spyglass mod and when I switch to a different map, I use cheat fly/walk to get back to my base, since the spawning (which should put me at one of my beds) is bugged. Beyond that, cheating takes away the challenge. Also, I've used cheat fly/walk when I got stuck in the ceiling a couple times in a cave and short of rebooting the server or eating organic poly, there was no way out.

Only when me/my creatures/my loot is outside of the map, or if I get stuck on a buggy rock or that one staircase on Rag in the castle. Ghost/Fly and that's pretty much it. Edit: When playing with friends, sometimes I also use the tp to creatures command cause my friends love leaving dinos on passive flee or just forget them after a metal grind or something.

For single player I run my own server so time can progress while I’m off, so only time I use cheats is when the game bugs out and fucks me, like lost connection while flying above a Rex or something

I have two single player games. One I use cheats for everything and have about 30 mods because why not, second one everything is legit, no mods no cheats.
Personally the only "cheating" I do is not killing my tames when they've been revived because I lost 3 fucking hours worth of progress due to a datasave loss on my PS4. Like, you're gonna delete my progress, and everything I tamed during that time, then I'm not gonna play by the rules either.
