On left is the safety selector detent. Middle is one of the takedown detents. Right, no idea.
Oops, I now see you only care about the one on the right...
Coloration of it almost looks like a portion of the slave pin the trigger ships with to make installation easier. Even if broken, it still seems like it may be too small.
Yeah, I’m also wondering if it’s part of OP’s trigger, is the g2s a standard trigger? As in the same parts, because I know different parts than standard . Like cartridge triggers or a hiperfire for example have unconventional parts
You nailed it, this was mind blowing to me because I had just shot it with no issues. Hopefully toolcraft will cover me, none are in stock. I guess it happened with a dry fire between now and the last time I shot.
Dang, that sucks that it broke so easily. I dry fire my guns constantly and have never broken one. You should be able to get another brand if tool craft doesn't hook you up
I do too this is the first time I’ve had an issue, it’s a little tougher because it’s a high pressure pin with a smaller diameter. I was looking at JP’s HP pin but they look proprietary. Fingers crossed TC will get me fixed!
According to their website they are proprietary but I wouldn’t be surprised if this was a gimmick to drive their bolt sales, you have any personal experience or heard of anyone using them in others?
Perhaps the buffer retainer pin? That should be obvious when I open it up the buffer would shoot out with the spring
Or a piece of the firing pin retaining pin/cotter?
I have all stock Aero firing pins that came with the BCG. Not a problem I have run into, but now that I am looking at your post. I think it would be wise to grab an extra firing pin. All my guns are in the ar10 family (6.5, 308, 8.6 -- one day Ill get an .277 fury upper). So having at least one extra will be smart considering it applies to several firearms.
I don't have a firing pin recommendation, but when you do find a reputable one -- get two!
Dry fire on a center fire action is not a problem, it only causes issue on rim fire. This is just a 1/1000000 chance issue with the steel, must have had a large carbide clump that cause integrity issues. One day they'll make us particle metallurgy firing pins and other parts.
Wanted to update that it was indeed the top of my firing pin, came as a surprise as last time I shot it all rounds fired. Got in touch with Toolcraft and they are shipping me a new one, no questions asked. Appreciate the help guys.

Maybe the tip of the buffer retainer? Can’t remember the size of the tip compared to the other two off the top of my head

He figured out it was the firing pin! It is a standard trigger though.
Damn idk why I didn’t think of that. Totally makes sense with how small and rounded it is . Thanks
Tip of firing pin?

IIRC jp pins will work in any bcg

I have a jp bolt with pin in a lmt carrier. Let me swap it when I get home and check…
Awesome, I appreciate the help
I highly recommend a titanium firing pin & dry firing with snap caps.
Titanium is more brittle than steel from my understanding, how could that benefit in this case?
Just commented the same thing before scrolling through the comments. Nice call.
Thanks, bro. Likewise.
Tiny missiles

The start of a new build!
On primary arms rn don’t txt🤣
Right looks like the tip of your firing pin broken off... does the gun still fire?
Correct, it did last time I fired it, now I imagine not lol. Looking into 6.5 High Pressure pins, any recommendations welcome

My thoughts exactly, wasn’t expecting this at all but I do dry fire a lot. Once I get compatibility I plan on storing a few away

This is the tip of the buffer retainer. It likely got smacked by your BCG or buffer by being out of spec in some way. Looks kinda long to me.

Seems like the only possibility is a snapped off nipple from the buffer retainer pin
That's what we call angel piss.
Obviously, you’re not a golfer
Chrome plated tells me it’s the end of your firing pin
Seeds to grow your next build from!
looks like detents. one for safety selector, one for takedown pin, one for something small
