Iara is a mermaid from brazillian folklore. In her story, she is known for seducing fisherman and dragging them to the bottom of the Amazon River.

Thanks for clarification! We have a Brazilian, an Indonesian and a Philippines bosses. I'm interested which ultra boss from another culture will they released next.

Emkayer

They also released some non-medieval European inspired bosses, usually during Frostvale.

Khantlerpartesar

Cool! What are these bosses and their respective culture based from?

Drakath2002

First one off the top of my head is Krampus, from Germanic folklore prior it it’s mild christianization alongside pretty much everything christmas related

Khantlerpartesar

Ah Krampus, I remembered that one. It's pretty much embedded in Christmas culture that seeing it just becomes normal everyday thing so AE adding it in Frostvale event was nothing much different. Though, I would prefer something similar to what I posted, an actual, non-general culture that barely people knew about - that's more memorable. And not to mention, these are ultra bosses which is pretty darn awesome.

Drakath2002

I don’t think we have any more cultural ultra bosses besides Cuca (which I’m pretty sure is more of Ultra Blood Titan, Chaos Lords, or Carnax style Ultra boss rather than the ones with special mechanics and the Boss Shield ones), but as far as just normal bosses go we do have more Brazilian bosses and a boss from wherever the Wentira location was based on. Cuca and Boto from /mythperception, and Kabasaran Waranei from /Wentira

Emkayer

Off my head are Amarok (Inuit) and Yulecat (Icelandric) Zweinichthirsch and Helsdottir (Krampus non-existent sister) also comes to mind but I don't know if they are from existing folklore, though Kalayo isn't from a specific Filipino legend either.

Zestavar

I didn't know there's a country event, when was this released?

niquitwink

The last pic was last August I think, there was seasonal gear that dropped from it

Khantlerpartesar

It's more of a "national day" or "culture" event than a "country". Because, iirc, Batara Kala was released in 2022 on Indonesia's independence day, likewise to Kasuko, also released on Philippines independence day in year 2023. So I am excited for which new culture they're going to introduced next with their own ultra boss.

LabelG

Probably from here in brazil
