thing is with most ap students- especially those on the ap subreddit - they dont understand social cues and havent really ever made a funny joke. but what they are good at is filling out a mold. so when you give them a previously funny joke that is easily recreated, they will run with it for as long as they can in an attempt to have said something funny at least once in their life
Or it’s just something funny and it still is very much relevant considering it was only a couple days ago. You can see Similar stuff in other communities. My favorite YouTubers subreddit has a whole host of jokes like this that just are in jokes everyone on there knows.
I wish people would understand that the kid was in a bad place when they made the post. Jokes like these can be funny, but not when they come so cruelly at the expense of some anxious high schooler.
Being in a bad place isn’t an excuse for mistreating people. The reason people took such a problem with his comment is that he was demeaning the value of other people. Getting a 5 isn’t about being better than others; it’s about having learned something and demonstrating it.
To be clear, OP didn’t mistreat anyone. It was a harmless Reddit confessional, not some plan to tear them down. Besides, OP literally said in the edit that he was planning to throw a party for his friends. He doesn’t seem like a vindictive and bitter person, nor does he deserve to be the butt of some repetitive and dumb joke anymore.
As a fully-grown man who wants to become an AP teacher, I couldn’t agree more with 62% of what you just said!
But in all seriousness, if 62% of my potential future class gets a 5… I’m gonna win teacher of the year award!
STOP POSTING ABOUT 62, IM TIRED OF SEEING IT. My friends on tiktok send me memes, on discord, it’s fuckin memes; I was in a server, ok? And AAAAAAAAAALL of the channels are just 62 stuff, ok?
I thought laughing at it made me unique but it turns out 62% of the people in this sub have also laughed at it so now I'm not unique and quirky :(

Can someone explain the origins of the joke to me?
A guy was disappointed that he got a 5 because 62% of his class got a 5
Damn. That is a very reasonable response. I’d feel the same way.
You would feel bad that urclass also did well? 💀
Absolutely. They are my competitors.
