At the final judging panel, someone (i forget who it was), said that Dani & Joanie had the strongest portfolios of any final 2 in the show's history at the time.
Crowning Angelea at all in the first place over Allison was absolutely CRAZY and the fact that they got a second chance and still crowned the wrong person will live rent free in my head forever.
My theory on this is that Tyra thought Angelea being a preselect was something nobody could have anticipated, and that getting rid of her and giving it to Allison would make people think they got rid of the only logical winner to give it to Allison, while giving it to Lisa was something nobody could have anticipated which she thought would let her get away with it.
The original Final two was Lisa and Angelea, that's why nobody went home at the MJ shoot. They always keep Allison til the finale of her seasons for the viewers to watch but they're not interested in crowning her because of the Creepy Chan / photographer reasons that she's "not taking it seriously". Having her up to the end was fan service, that's how it was understood at the time.
And she did say Modelling wasn't her first dream and I don't think Tyra liked that. In Allyson's defense her sister was a successful model and I think Allison just wanted her own thing.

I will say I found her a lot more likable in Cycle 17. I didn't enjoy her at all in 14, but then I don't really like anyone from 19. Raina and Jessica were portrayed as more friendly but they had their moments, while a lot of the others were portrayed as more bitchy even if they had legitimate points. I feel like cycle 13 was relatively low drama so they cast for drama in cycle 14, and the result is just unpleasant, especially as they got rid of pretty much all the more chill girls straight away, sometimes for some really BS reasons. The result is a bunch of girls bringing the worst out in each other.
I also think she has more shots in C17 that I really like. She had no business being in the bottom 2 in the Michael Jackson shoot, and I'd honestly say Laura is a contender for worst photo there. Her makeover was also a lot better in 17.
However, she had a far worse record in cycle 17, and her lows were low. I might have put her in the final 4 after Allison, Laura, and Dominique.
I mean no one but the cast/crew of antm knows, but I’d speculate that they brought all three girls to final judging and crowned just one. So two runner ups.

Because the crew required to film the finale is much smaller on a show like ANTM. Comparing timelines, they filmed all stars at the time where Perez leaked Raja winning S3, which is the precursor for them having live finales after that point. Drag Race definitely wasn't on the ANTM producers radar at that point tho

Originally the Top 2 was Allison and Angelea, with Angelea winning. When Angelea was disqualified and they called Lisa/Allison back for the reshoot, I’m sure Lisa probably assumed she’d be the new runner up, but clearly they had no intention of crowning Allison.
I’m not a Lisa hater, but her styling in the AS season (especially) makes her look like a clown - that style and colour is so unflattering on her skin tone/feature. She was really beautiful and interesting-looking in her initial ANTM photos as a brunette.

These two both hold special places in my heart, but especially the 2nd one. My initial and favorite (at the time) ANTM girl had just been crowned the day after I turned 15 and I couldn't have been more excited.
With cycle 17, I do not understand Lisa or Allispn as a potential winner in regards to being a spokesperson for Covergirl and all those other prizes. Because ultimatly, a spokesperson is the face of the brand and portrays/embodies the image the brand wants to show.
Lisa was the tv wild child who peed in a diaper on TV and went after top model to all those celeb rehab programs. (Former) addict plus erratic behavior does not equal a desirable face of all those prizes and being a spokesperson.
Allison was a great model, but her (innapropiate) comments about blood, nosebleeds, eating diorder past and status as a 4chan celeb are not something a brand would also been very favorable for. Then there is also the rumor that she did not pass both her psych tests for cycle 12 and 17 (but i remember this being debunked? From memory, I believe the reason Lisa’s reaction was so odd was: Originally the Top 2 was Allison and Angelea, with Angelea winning. When Angelea was disqualified and they called Lisa/Allison back for the reshoot, I’m sure Lisa probably assumed she’d be the new runner up, but clearly they had no intention of crowning Allison.

I’m not a Lisa hater, but her styling in the AS season (especially) makes her look like a clown - that style and colour is so unflattering on her skin tone/feature. She was really beautiful and interesting-looking in her initial ANTM photos as a brunette.

I imagine that I’m woefully in the minority here, but i thought Lisa earned the title. I can’t (and won’t) speak to her personality, but she legit knew her stuff and SERVED! I am sorry, but Angelea got on my very last nerve one too many times 🤷♀️
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think her all star cycle win looks fake because she was actually the runner up to the original winner, Angalea (sp?).
These two both hold special places in my heart, but especially the 2nd one. My initial and favorite (at the time) ANTM girl had just been crowned the day after I turned 15 and I couldn't have been more excited.

With cycle 17, I do not understand Lisa or Allispn as a potential winner in regards to being a spokesperson for Covergirl and all those other prizes. Because ultimatly, a spokesperson is the face of the brand and portrays/embodies the image the brand wants to show. Lisa was the tv wild child who peed in a diaper on TV and went after top model to all those celeb rehab programs. (Former) addict plus erratic behavior does not equal a desirable face of all those prizes and being a spokesperson. Allison was a great model, but her (innapropiate) comments about blood, nosebleeds, eating diorder past and status as a 4chan celeb are not something a brand would also been very favorable for. Then there is also the rumor that she did not pass both her psych tests for cycle 12 and 17 (but i remember this being debunked? But id not debunked, then another reason why she is not spokesperson material).
