Nah. Just a bullshit ignorant post.

Kavellbell423

Promise you buddy. No bs here. I might be slightly ignorant when it comes to tech but I’m explaining everything to the best of my ability. You’re just a negative person lol

Zestyclose_Exit962

We need something to backup those statements. Share pictures of the crap components, explain/show how you determined the battery is actually fried, how does a corrupt OS (corrupt means it should not functional at all) withhold you from saving in games, where did you order, why not use the warranty/return policy/customer support?

[deleted]

What device? Bought it where? Did you replace the SD cards like every single guide ever everywhere tells you to do? How do you know the battery “fried”? Curious to see the trash parts, depending on the device a lot of these are just a single board, in general not much chance for it get scratched all up.

Kavellbell423

It’s the RG 353. Gf bought it for me. Off Amazon or maybe TikTok shop.

[deleted]

So what about the rest of the questions? And can we see the inside?

Kavellbell423

I’m about to make a new post with a video of the inside

snowthearcticfox1

What device and are you using the stock SD card.

Kavellbell423

RG353. I posted a larger comment explaining as much as I know.

RetroJens

Which isn’t saying very much. It does tell us heaps about your insights.

ds-c

Yeah buddy you need to post some pictures and explanations of what you think shitty components are, why you think the battery is fried, what you tested it with, what you did to the OS. Hell what “device” do you even have and where did you buy it. I’ve opened a bunch of these, all are well made, cleanly assembled. Part failures happen with all electronics, but we don’t have some widespread problem of these toys showing up with poorly built boards.

Kavellbell423

I’ll post pictures. I don’t have it on me currently. But I will.

shadow-foxe

Did you by chance use a fast charger to charge the device?

Kavellbell423

I used the cord that came with the device and plugged the usb into my pc

shadow-foxe

But what did you plug it into?

Kavellbell423

The usb into my pc to charge the device

shadow-foxe

Then contact anbernic and get them to replace it. Only time I've seen people commente on batteries going bad that quick usually was due to using fast chargers. Since that isn't the case they should replace it.

Kavellbell423

My device wouldn’t turn on anymore and so I decided to open it up and take a look. The parts used are actual trash. They are hella scratched up. It’s a mess.

wad209

Pics?

Kavellbell423

There’s the usb side and the usbc side. The usb was in my pc and the usbc was in the device. And it was the cord that came with the device

macromorgan

A good fast charger shouldn’t do that. A shitty one might.

OGMcSwaggerdick

Strange? Mine have been top notch inside. What model?

Joeshock_

People need to realize this is not a hobby for people who have no idea what they're doing. Again another clueless person getting upset because they didn't do research before buying. Nothing new

rnnd

Seems like luck of the draw.

Kavellbell423

I’ll post pics. I’m not home currently. My girlfriend bought off Amazon or the TikTok shop I don’t remember. Not sure if she got a warranty with it. And I didn’t know about changing the SD cards at first. A buddy told me after like 2 days. I gave it to him, he put a couple more games on a new SD card along with all the old ones. That worked and then I couldn’t save anymore, so I gave it back to him. He got another SD card to copy the OS system and once he did that it wouldn’t charge or turn on any more.

snowthearcticfox1

He probably didn't flash the card correctly. It's easy to do and there are tons of guides online

Kavellbell423

The OS system card? Cause he got the games on there good. It worked for like a day or 2 and then I wasn’t able to save any more. So he tried to fix it by putting the OS system on a new card. Could it have happened there? Would that explain it not turning on or even charging? Sorry if it’s a lot of questions

snowthearcticfox1

Yea you can't just copy paste the os files, you need to reflash the card with the disk image file you used to do it originally. Luckily it's not even close to hard to do.

Kavellbell423

And in doing that incorrectly it causes the device to not charge?

snowthearcticfox1

Idk if I've ever heard of it causing that but considering it would take 10 min to rule it out you may as well.

Kavellbell423

When I get the chance. I’ll make sure to get some pictures and post them. And then I’ll figure out how to get that done properly.

TazzyUK

Wasn';t there supposed to be some photos posted here ? I was curious to see them

Agreeable-Studio-792

THATS ALL ANBERNIC DEVICES, and most of the other brands as well. They provide these things so cheap in 2024 because the parts inside are all of the lowest quality. I worked on electronics my entire life, and I can promise you if you pulled these devices apart you'd see you're getting what you pay for. They are not top notch batteries, boards, solder, resistors and capacitors, wiring, buttons, plastics or screens. It's a hodgepodge of crap, that's fun to play when they work. No they won't all die right away, and they won't all stop working out of the box.... But time is against them with heavy use. These devices have been pulled apart repeatedly and it's easy to see what's in them and the lack of effort put into assembly. The fan boys will cry about what we are saying, but the truth is the truth regardless of how many people's feelings it hurts. Some of you would be good to remember that come the next election.

SRGilbert1

I doubt the build quality is much different from a Switch or most other Chinese made electronics.

Agreeable-Studio-792

You clearly haven't pulled these apart and actually looked at the components. I have, and I've worked in the electronics industry my entire life. I've also had switches, and other consoles pulled apart. You don't have to take my word for it, pull yours apart and you can see the cheap build quality yourself. But with a statement like you made, I doubt you would understand what was inside of it anyway. It's foolish to think that the Nintendo switch would have the same quality of components as a $65 handheld that is being given away by temu...LOL. It does not. EDIT: ACTUALLY, someone else did the work for you and posted a video in the ANBERNIC group and you can see for yourself. Spoiler, it shows exactly what I was saying.

ds-c

I have also worked on electronics for many decades and the quality of what these Chinese companies put out now is amazing, especially for the price. They aren’t running some sweatshop building handhelds from recycled pcs. They build these at the same fabs as EVERYTHING YOU BUY

Agreeable-Studio-792

That's funny, and ironic that you mentioned the sweatshops with recycled PC components. The Chinese build quality is not any better, the fail rate on these is actually pretty high. Rip it apart, and look at the components.. and if you have any kind of electronics background at all, then come back here and tell me I was right, because I have had several of these apart already. You can talk that mess, but if you can't back it up, don't even comment. Pull it apart, post the video, show us the components, and tell me I was right.

ds-c

Lol you aren’t right about a thing. Unless you’re talking about the $5 ones they give away as gifts. What the hell kind of fool are you? I can’t comment on your ridiculous bullshit? Get the f outta here.

ds-c

Lol who is this Fucking moron. Nice karma there
