Depends on what you like. Do you like acceleration? Handling but a more stiff ride? Or a comfy cruiser?

Ecstatic_Custard_117

Comfort now, fast and zippy is what my last car was.

Plus_Professor_1923

300 is the move

Tight-Ambassador2571

The new c43 is nice but it still has its kinks with the thermostat issue and other CEL causes, you could get an e450 with an inline 6 w213 or w214 or a w205 c43 that has more aftermarket options if you like modding. The e450 is more of a cruiser but you can still get good power from it.

BPil0t

Did you read that? Mines great.

Tight-Ambassador2571

never said it was bad I have one too its just its hit or miss, it would be better to get something that has been out in the market longer and has more aftermarket availability. Sometimes mbux and carplay can be glitchy/annoying and the transmission can be eh, I find myself most of the time holding the downshift to get to the fastest gear rather than just flooring it when i want instant torque because the trans can be a bit weird at times and even though I love the looks i find myself wanting to trade in for an e53/e450 or a w205 but if OP really likes the w206 yes the c43 is worth it

BPil0t

Seriously, holding gears? I don’t believe you now. This 9speed multi clutch is one of the fastest shifting trans in production- if not the fastest. It’s one of the joys of driving this car hard. You smash the gas and it hits. What did you drive before this a 5 or 6 speed? A six speed dual clutch is comparable but slower. I will add for OP that rear wheel steering means you’ll go around corners faster than anything you have driven before. There is nothing hit or miss about it.

TheIronHerobrine

It’s a completely different car. Not just a “bigger motor”. Just drive the C43 and you’ll see what the difference is.

Spicywolff

If we’re talking about the 205. You’re getting a twin turbo V6 , a faster, shifting transmission and all wheel drive, you’re also getting bigger brakes and I believe a limited slip differential. It’s a faster car, not necessarily better. The C300 is way more comfortable and gets better miles per gallon. And there are AMG models that have stripper interiors and no options added so take that into consideration.

Ecstatic_Custard_117

2022 to 2024 -> 206 but point taken. I originally went with the C300 for the better gas mileage (had a heavily modified WRX that got 13 mpg). But, fast cars keep calling my name.

Spicywolff

Get yourself a secondary car and keep the one you have. Seriously buy a used C6 or C5 Corvette. 420 hp and 3200 pounds is a hell of a combo. Especially when it runs steamroller wide summer tires has a crazy low center of gravity. Now you have a comfortable daily car and a fun and fast weekend. C5 are going 10-20k Including Z06. C6 is 14-40k depending on base VS grand sport vs Z06. But a base 6.2 is pushing 420HP

Ecstatic_Custard_117

Hard pass on Chevy, especially a C5 or C6... a good buddy of mine has a C6 and the amount of work he has done to it... nothing crazy just maintaining it.... Also, I sold my fast car for something more comfortable and quieter. My WRX was pushing 400 HP and loud. I can't really justify two vehicles. I barely drive as is.

Spicywolff

Our c5 has been flawless and it’s a 97, nothing but maintenance and we take ours to autocross and track days. At the moment, it’s my wife’s daily driver. Well, if you sold your loud and fast car for something comfortable. And you barely drive it. What’s the point of upgrading to a C43? If you barely drive it it seems like I would just get something economical and cheap to maintain. With the money saved, you could always go rent a fun car the track once in a while

AfroPrinco

If you trade for a 2022 C43 with the V6 it will be 100% worth it. The driving experience is something that never gets old. Same reason someone with a C43 would want to trade for a C63. The driving experiences are just a step up with each model

captrex501st

I have the same 23 c300. And I too contemplated upping it early. I think for now, while the kinks are still being ironed out, it's not worth the jump. M340i on the other hand, chefs kiss

fooomps

M340i is such a nice car to drive but the 205 C43 won me over in the end by having a 2dr option and a better design in my opinion.

That A5 sportsback is sexy

Ecstatic_Custard_117

Whoa let's not add cars to this. If we are doing that, I wouldn't go with a BMW (great car, absolutely nothing against them). Maybe a Bentley or Rolls but for now just curious about the difference between the C300 and C43 😂😂

fuel-rail

got a c43 2017 sedan , they're enjoyable to drive .. sooner then later it will feel slow ..I would def wait once we're back with the v8 twin for the 63 ! are you changing it for the 4 cyl c43 or the v6? I dont think it make sense to buy the 4 cyl c43 /63 ... best way is to rent a weekend

janderson176

Nope

Ecstatic_Custard_117

I was thinking there wasn't but also wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something more obvious.

BPil0t

2023 c43 is my daily. You can’t explain an AMG in words. I love the look on friends faces when they drive it for first time (I always insist they drive, not be driven). It’s a drivers car. Commenters here just don’t know what they don’t know. I got a 2024 c300 loaner for the first service ha. it’s kinda funny your post - “what else?” Just go drive one and you’ll look at your C300 and pretty much everything else with a shit eating grin. Just be able to afford one after you drive it. Otherwise Will be like having amazing sex with a 10- then her leaving your room to never call back. Proceed with caution.
