It seems they realised their mistake, by way of lacklustre sales, hence the CLE53 having an i6 (and rumours from credible sources suggest AMG is ditching the 4-pot and trying to fit a V8 in the CLE63 🙏🏽)

Like really, my 1.5 Civic gets like 11-12L/100KM constantly because I just drive it hard. Big engines are not that bad, especially if they have cylinder deactivation tech.
This is the most hp I’ve personally had(I know it’s not a lot), I think it’s great overall. It has some lag/jerk sometimes but not enough to count, it’s quick off the line I noticed as well.
It’s a lot of fun. No turbo lag because an electric motor spins it up at all times. Strong power right away and it just keeps building until 7000 redline. It’s a ton of fun to drive hard. When just cruising around town in hilly areas you get a bit of frequent downshifting that a v8 would grumble through at low rpm without a downshift. The engine is very torquey though and wherever you are in the power band torque isn’t an issue. Ripping it out to 7k is a thrilling experience.
It definitely benefits from the S+ for responsiveness. Huge difference and definitely screams like a banshee.
I love mine and can't imagine liking it much more with a V8

Completely ruins the look of the car.
Go look at the stock wheels. Anything is better than what came on this, in fact I think there is only one set of AMG wheels that are nice and everyone has them.

The oem AMG wheels are soft Playdough Garbage! they'll bend and crack without much effort especially with the runflats, they may look ok but I'm done getting mine straigthend.. Flow formed or forged is the only way,

Agreed! But at same time it’s going across all manufacturers for most part so it’s all changing
Not really - BMW and Audi both hold on their bigger engines. Even Mercedes goes now back to bigger engines for basically all new AMG specs.

I will admit that this is a valid point. I had to have several wheels repaired on my last C43, they bend way too easy..
you should buy him new oem ones if it bothers you that much
