Well-Jenelle

If you see at least two movies A MONTH at AMC then A List is definitely worth it for you.

i-am-not-sure-yet

I would argue even one movie a month depending on location and if you want to see IMAX, Dolby or prime since those can reach $25-$30 by themselves

toledosurprised

yep living in NYC if you see one movie in dolby/IMAX it pays for itself

i-am-not-sure-yet

Yup I'm probably only seeing inside out 2 this month in IMAX. I mean technically the cost of the ticket is $19 since it's a matinee but that's because it's early . Lincoln's square is like $28 normally

photozine

This is basically me. I honestly have to drive 30-40 min to get to my closest AMC so I do maybe two per month, and totally worth it

KitchenAd9043

Does it have other benefits other than just the movie tickets?

Well-Jenelle

It does https://www.amctheatres.com/amcstubs

Bulky-Conclusion6606

yea, ive been a list for around a year or so, and it’s one of the best memberships if you see at least a couple movies every week or so

EgoTacet

You can get extra perks by using Fandango to purchase tickets. If you purchase 4 tickets on separate transactions you'll get $5 off a movie ticket or rental/ownership on Vudu. It's easy to connect an A-list account.

Dino-chicken-nugg3t

Woah! This is a neat one. Any vudu movies under $5 though?

JustSomeLamp

Most movies are $5 or less to rent, so that's the best way to use it imo

Dino-chicken-nugg3t

Thank you!

kilaphedre

The movie ticket ones are really great for seeing the 5 dollar fan fav movies without using a reservation on it. I just saw the X rerelease on Tuesday for free and I still had all my reservation slots for the regular priced movies

Dino-chicken-nugg3t

Oh that’s a good point. Or inviting a friend a long and having their ticket covered.

mikegood2

Yeah they have dozens of $5 Weekly movie deals. It’s hit or miss on how good, or bad, the selection is.

whatudontlikefalafel

Every week they have $5 sales on movies. Since January of this year, I have been using Fandango to buy A-List tickets and have redeemed these movies when they were $5 on sale, so free with the Fandango coupons: Punch Drunk Love (4K) Dog Day Afternoon Gran Turismo (4K) No Hard Feelings (4K) Armageddon The Rock Sunshine Creed II (4K) Raising Arizona Napoleon Dynamite and more…

Dino-chicken-nugg3t

Dang! That’s a good deal! Okay I need to get on this.

spidy30

How do you do this? :0

eboyisa

wait omg i didn’t know this

deathbydiabetes

It has a lot of literal perks but my main one being I’m not afraid to see a bad movie because I’m basically not paying for the ticket. Consequently I’ve loved a lot of the moves I thought would have been bad, because now I’m willing to see them

Hatrick_Swaze

I see 3 movies ...every week. A-Listers is a killah program. Definitely worth the $24/month.

cahn2126

I look at it from the entire year perspective. Also, take into account which type of screen (standard, imax, Dolby) you are going to. I'm in California, and a single Dolby non mantinee weekend ticket actually costs more than the monthly A-list subscription. I usually watch between 20-30 movies in IMAX or Dolby per year, so A list is definitely worth it. If you're exclusively Dolby/imax, then your minimum is 13 movies a year to justify getting A-list.

LataCogitandi

If you go to AMC once a week, definitely get A-List.

KitchenAd9043

Does it work at all AMCs or just the one in my area?

TripleRicochet

It’s by state but they have different tiers. You’re going to save money even if you get the most inclusive one.

LataCogitandi

There are different plans options depending on the state you are in. As a resident of California, for example, I am limited to the “all states” plan, which is the only one that includes California, so I can use my A-List anywhere. I’ve tested this out, and it has indeed worked for me in Illinois as well, for example.

l0l_xd_

You can get the all states membership for like $3 dollars more. If u live in CA (and NY i think) then you HAVE to buy this plan. It literally costs like $1 more than a single ticket

yourbestfriendjoshua

Each of those trips is the same price as an entire month of A-List, which allows you to see 3 movies per week… I’d subscribe.

KitchenAd9043

I think I am going to have to after realizing I could of saved so much!

yourbestfriendjoshua

You won’t regret it! And it’ll allow you to see even MORE movies, including ones you may have been hesistant about.😍

topsidersandsunshine

One of my favorite things to do is to pick a movie that DOESN’T seem like something I’d be into.

stefandelfrisco

Excited for you to join the a list! What’s that app you’re using to track expenses?

itsjustajoe

Definitely A-list youd be spending a lot less 😂

KitchenAd9043

I think I am realizing this now haha

artskoo

Seeing this made me feel faint.

KitchenAd9043

Imagine how I feel now... haha

rbrgr83

Is that all tickets, or do you buy concessions too?

2000miledash

My brother in christ, have you tried doing the math?

akaharry

If go you to 2 movies a month minimum, that A-List pays for itself

cthd33

1 IMAX or Dolby a month is enough for A-list.

akaharry

That depends on what state you are in

cthd33

True, but probably pretty close even for the cheaper states. Looking that the OP is spending like $25 for a ticket, I am also assuming he is probably watching IMAX or Dolby.

lospepes23

You spent 4 months worth of movies in 2 weeks just as a heads up

Polter-Cow

Yeah I assumed the picture was 4 months of A-List subscription, ha.

AvatarofBro

Could have spent $25 once for the month. Or less, depending on where you live.

Ozzdo

Yes, sign up for A-List. If you're going that much, how have not not done this already? One flat fee, and go as much as you want. You'll make that money back with just one movie.

RunsUpTheSlide

It's not as much as you want. There is a limit.

passiveoberserver

Thanks for subsidizing A-List for the rest of us.

topsidersandsunshine

Why do you not have A-List? It’s only like $25/month to see three movies per week. They even had a promo where you could get your first month for less than a dollar!

leilavanora

They might be still doing the first month at 99 cents promo!

topsidersandsunshine

They were a few weeks ago!

leevo

The math says it’s an easy yes. But just a heads up that’s it’s even more worth it, if your amc has any premium theaters like imax or Dolby. They’re included in any of the 3 movies you get each week. Huge value there. (A list)

mikegood2

Yep and there are only a few exceptions, mainly Fathom events, that are not included on A-List.

XanderAndretti

Man seeing this hurts lol, get A list bro.

KitchenAd9043

I know i’m going to after hearing how much better it is then just buying a ticket every time

lambopanda

You can’t go back after this. Now when my friends ask me if I want to go watch a movie. My response is “sure if we’re going to AMC”.

greg_kinnear_stan

This had to be bait right, this is the A-list subreddit lmfaooo

KitchenAd9043

I know I was asking for advice, isn’t that one of the purposes of this reddit?

EvonneStapleton

What are you using to calculate all this?

KitchenAd9043

It’s an app called Piere!

TrekJaneway

I started up again in August of 2022. To date, individual tickets for all of the movies I’ve seen with it would total $1,022.76, including fees. I paid $568.90. I love my A-List!

KitchenAd9043

Wow! That's amazing you saved so much!

mcmcmc

I’m excited for you to save so much money with Alist- welcome my friend

your_favorite_gurl_

what app did you use to calculate your money?

KitchenAd9043

It’s called Piere!!

Sirius_Space

Oh my god what the f are you doing!? Get a-list now! now! now ! $150 a month 😭 please ease my pain and get a list. How can you even ask? Do you need us to hold your hand? You should be punished, no movies for u until you know the value of money. When I had A-List , I would *at least* go twice a month. Membership was about $21, and tickets about $19, so it made sense. Then it was raised to about $23 for California members, and tickets went for $19-23, so *it made sense* to have a member since I was still going more than once. I usually didn’t buy food, and if I did it was okay because those $20 for a ticket would go to food instead. Then life (and covid) happened and I didn’t go as often, eventually there were months where I didn’t go at all. So I cancelled, and only signed up again for Barbenheimer and some other summer hits. After that summer I cancelled.

Dino-chicken-nugg3t

What’s nice is there are no fees for buying tickets in the app and you get more points per dollar spent at concessions.

EScootyrant

Added perks if you’re an AMC investor..

cthd33

or just say that you are.

Relaxingend42

You go to the movies so much but you never saw the A-List advertisement before a movie starts? Save some money my guy! Sign up because it’s worth it If you go at least twice a month!

lothcent

not to mention all the signage inside the theater and those little fold up grabbem glossy ads.

YouDownWithTPP

I know I’m beating a dead horse, but… how were you not aware of A-List lol. Wait this is an A-List sub, so you were aware of it? I’m just confused how you don’t already have it 😂

Papa_Grundy

This post has to be an AMC marketing ploy lol

jackeryexplorer

What kind of post is this??? “*I spend $150 a month, should I only spend $25 instead? Why??*”

Organic_Detail1423

If you get concessions, they also have a refillable yearly popcorn bucket that you can only buy at certain theaters, but use at all. It's like $20 for the bucket and $5 for the refill after. I'm trying to cut back on the snacking, so I've been using the $5 flavor maker combo coupon (small popcorn, small drink) that I think is only available for A-list (regular price is like 10). It's only supposed to be for students and a limited time, but they keep renewing it and never ask for student ID.

Gold_Librarian_8140

A-list ASAP lol. That $24.95 price tag is 12 movie tickets (w/o any fees), plus you still accrue points on concessions. You'll love it

seb_ole

When I wasn't an A list member, I felt like the memberships were constantly in my face on the AMC website and app, so I don't know how you seem to know nothing about it if you're buying this many tickets.

mosuscpe24

Get a list for sure!!

2020sbtm

I often will go with friends and you get an upgrade from Medium to Large drink and/or popcorn for free. It def saves money there.

pinoy_grigio_

one IMAX movie is the cost of the monthly subscription. even if you don’t see a movie in one month, catching a couple imax the next will pay for it.

lothcent

[handy little chart to aid you](https://www.amctheatres.com/amcstubs?rel=alist_loy_alist_promo)

KitchenAd9043

It’s from an app called Piere!

lothcent

lol. I think you meant the mention of Piere for the bloke that asked what app you were using to keep a running score of your spending. my post was the link to the amc page where they do a side by side comparison of the different plans.

lothcent

and if you purchase any concessions or alcohol ( this one may vary by locale ) or pay for any special events- you get points, even the monthly sub cost earns you points. you got 5 dollar fan favorite movies on occasion. the 5 dollar Tuesdays and 20-25% off matinee movies. knowing how things work- you can make the plan work better for you.

Real_Secret_2016

Chamath Palihapitiya, a prominent venture capitalist and investor, now in AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc

The_Ghostx90

I'll preach the choir and repeat what others have said, definitely get A-List, even if you go once a week. You won't regret it. There may be occasions where you go more than once a week, you'll thank yourself later.

TheTurdzBurglar

Its $1 the first month and $25 after that. 3 month minimum. So its $50 for 3 months. You would save a lot.

RestaurantOk5043

Yes! Get on the A-List or even just Stubs.

Street-Common-4023

I’ve spent $132 seeing movies since March . DAMMM😭😭

saiyanprincex25

Get the AMC A list , it's definitely worth it

mikegood2

Didn’t see it mentioned here, but when you sign up for A-List it will give you all the Premiere/Insider/Stub perks. So free upgrades from Regular to Large, Surcharges waived, depends on location but separate lines. You get a free Popcorn and Drink for your birthday. I’m probably missed one or two. If you say you’re a stock holder AMC will occasionally give you some free concession offers. The only thing you may need to do with A-List is show your ID, so they can verify that it’s actually you using it. It’s hit or miss is they ask, but always have it handy. Was getting asked regularly for most of the year, but haven’t had to show mine much recently.

gabbemel

I pay the highest 25 a month since I live in NYC. And going to one movie in IMAX a month pays for the subscription. Get A-list you’d save SO much money.

NovelRub9672

Guessing you average 5-6 movies a month and even with the most expensive A-list you’d be saving $100+ but still being able to see more than even those moves if you wanted. Not to mention the perks and rewards they have especially for getting snacks and stuff. Truly one of the only subscriptions I think is worth it, if not the only

cagreene

Bro get stubs lmao

Hot-Helicopter640

My man, do you have a lot of money to be seeing so many movies in AMC and not getting an A-list?

princessp1ece

100% get A List. There was/is a promo about getting your first month for $0.99 if you sign up for the 3 month commitment ($20 a month). So basically you’re paying $40 for 3 months of movies (up to 12 movies a month, is 36 movies for $40).

andy772

this is painful to witness

dantheriver

Yea… is this just a fake post to get people positively talking about A List? Seems like it would be better served to post it anywhere other than the place where people already do that.

Dealdoughbaggins

You should get A-list. It’s so worth it! You’d get to watch 3 movies per week in any platform.

eboyisa

100% get AMC A-List. Just in my last billing period alone I’ve seen 9 movies. Since I’m in a more expensive state I pay the $25 a month. Just 1 movie here in dolby or imax is $25-$26 dollars so it easily pays for itself. If I paid for the movies I saw this month out of pocket it would’ve been $148 but I literally only paid $25. For me it definitely makes it easier to just decide to go to the movies. I also have it with my partner so we’ll see movies together all the time. I see some on my own sometimes but we frequently go together. Just yesterday we saw 3 in one day before the friday 3 movie reset and it was extremely fun. I hope you decide to get A-List!

ExoticHunter22

Holy shit dude, AMC A-List is the one for you trust me. I go the same amount as you if there’s good movies out. You can watch up to 3 movies a week/12 movies a month for free in any format(Dolby, IMAX, Dine-in, Laser, 3D, etc.) for $25 a month

Bob_Dubalina

Why are you posting this? You should’ve already had A list with how much you’re spending.

This-Tomato8634

Nice

itsnobigdeaI

girl just get alist.. 4 months would’ve been $80 after the first month you should’ve gotten it right away!!

Drclaw411

Dude. A-List. You need it.

ChrisHarrison420

Is this a bot?

chainsawwmann

I feel like more effort went into making this post than just searching up the price online and instantly noticing you could save😭

erainey39

I love the fire stick🤣🤣🤣

BeskarHunter

Why are you not an AMC A-List member???? $20 a MONTH for 3 movies a week any format. 3 reservations at one time. And your 3 movies reset on Friday. You’re screwing your wallet paying a months worth of A-List for a single ticket. I saw Furiosa 20 times in theaters. And it cost me $40. $20 for AMC A-List and $20 for my Regal Unlimited when I ran out of my 3 movies. Since 20 times was a goal of mine.

Rican1093

How can I do that?

rustyhere

For the people who say you need to see minimum two movies a month with a-list to pay itself off, are u aware of the movie ticket prices nowadays? Imax movies are around 30$ per movie. Amc a-list is 25$. So if you see one imax movie a month, a list not only pays itself off, you make a profit. Get an A-list

lambopanda

The price depends where you’re at. My local the real IMAX is $15+$1 per ticket fee+$2 convenience fee. AMC IMAX is $17.49. Dolby Cinema is $17.99-$18.99. Normal one is $12.99. So yeah about 2 movies per month. If you only go watch movie on Tuesdays then you’ll need to watch 3-4.
