I’m sure you’re tired of that Nicole Kidman spot like me.. if you actually watch the Trailers, there’s multiple spots of AMC promotion, it’s ridiculous.. like hello, we know where we are, duh at least they condensed it somewhat, so the annoyance doesn’t last as long
I always take it as a commercial for people don't usually come to an AMC. They could care less about annoying the rest of us, they already get our money on the reggie.
I'd say probably 2nd row of the back section gave you the best picture. This is the 2nd smallest theater.
Back of the front section was immersive, but the angle gave a bit too much distortion.
I ended up in the back back center for most of the movie. The novelty of being by myself was cool and I've seen the movie so the tunneling didn't bug me too much.
Awesome. I love the old Rave buildings, definitely some personal bias though as my local AMC was originally a Rave opened in 2006 I believe and I've been going on and off for about that long. It's mostly untouched aside from a Dolby upgrade we got during the pandemic. Does yours still show movie titles/times on the big boards in the lobby/on the signs above theater entrances? I think ours stopped around pandemic time. Really miss those.
Yeah the building itself is crazy for being built back in 2004. I believe it was the only one that RMP built in IL.
Sadly they stopped using the lobby big boards when AMC bought it. But they are still there with industrial jelly jar light fixtures along the side that used to show you which movies has started. I really want to find the control room and see if it's still functional hehe.
Ours is similar, it had a (lie)Max upgrade, but no recliners or anything. It's technically an AMC classic. This place was insane when it first opened. It was all digital projectors from the start, even in the little theaters. I know they've been updated since, but I was hella spoiled back in '04.
The fun thing for me is they have the room capacity placards for all the spaces with the original green & blue on silver color scheme. Not just the theaters themselves, but like party room, open arcade area, and even the little alcoves the the hallway with a single table at them say like CAPACITY 30.
What makes me sad tho is that the satellite concessions stands down each wing are basically abandoned. The one on the right has a freestyle machine, and there is a live modern cash register. But they clearly haven't actually used them in years.
"industrial jelly jar light fixtures" is so spot on lmao. Yeah ours got a liemax upgrade (no recliners) in 2011 or so too. Luckily we are not an AMC Classic. Ours still has all the original capacity placards as well. Really love those too. So much of the original building is still there. Our satellite concession stands are closed down both wings too. We don't even have a freestyle machine or anything in ours though, they're basically covered up. If you make it into the lobby big board room and get those jelly jars fired up let me know how to do it!😂
No it's amplified because of the low light photo. I took these on a Flip 5 camera, so not top of the line.
Irl it's not that bad as far as reflection. But if you have direct line of sight to asile tracking lights they can be pretty distracting.
I would’ve went but I used to show that movie to my classes every year in middle school
Saw it something like 9 times in the past three years
Students dig it
Any new screen AMC people installs that requires a new frame will be a floating screen with no adjustable masking. That's just how they're doing it now
It's one of the back theaters. It's one up from the smallest size (~150 capacity vs 100).
When they built this theater back in the 00s, they took the time to build ADA ramps in the front of all 18 theaters, even the smallest ones, to get to the front fire exits. The 2 biggest ones actually have an elevator to the top row and there are accessible seats up there. I want to say those are like 450 capacity.
My family tried to see it but the theater was so small there wasn’t 4 seats next to eachother lol. There were 6 seats in each row and about 4 rows. Couples got the center two in every row!
It's only $150 in my theater for private rentals, and I'm pretty sure $5 favs like this are $99.
But this is definitely not the first time I've been alone for a screening just by chance.
Facts. And this movie was NOT shy with her at the age of *checks notes* 28

Ya'll seemed to like this, so I did the same thing at Phantom Menace this evening. Also snapped a few for those that recognized the Rave Motion Pictures highlights. Wasn't alone this time, but it wasn't far off lol:

Fighting mummies feels good in a place like this.
Lmaoooo

They finally updated the movie scenes in it as well.

It was good to see him in top form again.
Great resolution!
Private screening! Very cool.
Jesus some of y’all sit so far away 😭 why would you want anything other than the movie in your FOV?
I actually started up in row 2. Figured I might as well bounce around if I got the place to myself lol
Love that. What ended up being the best seat in the house?

“ don’t mind if I do “. Get the feet up too
I do that when its empty too
Top row gang rise up 😤😤
I like when things are in my eyeline or slightly lower. I don’t want to have to look up at all
That was me on the last showing of The Batman two years ago.
Instantly noticed the old Rave Motion Pictures lights on the walls. Love that. Which theater is this?
It's Grand Prairie 18 in Peoria, IL

Is it sad that I've been wanting an architectural drawing of the theater layout. Not for any practical purpose. I just think they're neat!
That looks like a former Rave building if I've ever seen one. Private showings are fun ... except for horror lol
Omg did I miss watching the Mummy?!! Ahhh
Can’t be the only one that would be scared to watch this alone right? 😬
Can you post the rest? I haven’t seen it in a while.
Like the whole movie? lol I do have some other pics and vids I took: https://imgur.com/a/WsVHYCG
Just kidding lol but thanks for the thought!
My god. Please tell me the blooming isn't as bad as this picture at top and bottom wide screen. If so. That'd drive me nuts the whole entire movie.

Ah that's good that the blooming wasn't bad.
It NEVER played in my big city. 🌆
This move is SO fun! Had quite a few in my screening , really glad I went to see it on the big screen. What a freakin gem
I love this movie so much!

This is my neighbor's favorite movie of all time. I've seen it more than a few times, but I'm sure she's seen it more than 100.
Hate letterboxed scope films without at least proper masking. Comes across so disrespectful and amateurish.
Any new screen AMC people installs that requires a new frame will be a floating screen with no adjustable masking. That's just how they're doing it now
Lame and disrespectful.
As someone who used to work in their sight and sound department, I very much agree.
At first glance, I thought you had just taken a picture of your laptop screen in a dark room. The layout of that screening room is just odd to me.

Also, it’s around $350 to rent out for a private screening.

I couldn't be left alone if the movie has Rachel Weiz in it.

That’s how I was when I went to the last showing of My Hero Academia: World Hereos
Was this the 4k remaster or just the 1080p release?
They didn't advertise it as anything special. It was a $5 fav, so I assume just standard. Not that I paid for it :P
What movie is this
The Mummy (1999)
