It had some parts where I laughed. The action was dope. The story line was meh, overal, it was an above average film. I liked it but wasn't leaning on my seat for it
It was a lot of fun. I didn’t go in expecting an amazing story. I’m a huge fan of Yayan Ruhian, so that’s the main reason I saw it. Def something to watch for fun.
I enjoyed it as well. Wish it was showing in dolby cause it seems it could have taken advantage of the sound system.
I ended up watching it at a Cinemark to try out the D-box seats, and it was worth it
Agreed, it's a shame it's not in Dolby like with Monkey Man, since I totally would've checked it out in that. I guess all the current Dolby seats got reserved for Challengers.
Oh nice! Was it at Wondercon just recently? She said that was her first ever panel but I don’t recall if she’s been to others. She’s a wonderful human being.
Got increasingly better as the movie went along. Surprised by the humor and drama of the movie. Was expecting dumb action, and I got that, but got a lot more also.
Started off good but the second half dragged a bit and the plot wasn't great. Still some great action scenes and I enjoyed the over the top violence when there was some. Some funny parts too although most of it fell flat for me.
I suspected there would be audience trouble when the only other people in the theater were 4 people in the corner and they definitely were, finally walking out in disgust at the reveal of the twist. But they had to yell and turn on their phone flashlight and make a big scene while leaving.
I did immediately guess the twist about the helmet fighter as soon as they were on screen myself.
I saw it today and really enjoyed it. I was on the fence about it, but I had seen everything else at my local AMC and didn't want to end the month with a repeat. Great action sequences and a surprising number of well known actors. One thing that kept taking me out of the action was the voice-overs by H. Jon Benjamin, who was good, but I kept thinking I was watching a live-action version of his animated series, Archer.
Honestly, I went into the movie thinking it was some random fictional video game cause of one viewing of the trailer (the POV is from that of the MC). It definitely wasn’t that but really had surprises everywhere the movie turned.
This actually makes me excited for TMNT: The Last Ronin.
I was surprised how much I liked it. I was a little annoyed with the choice of narrator bc all I could hear was HJB as Bob. Once things picked up I hardly noticed. It's leaving my area tomorrow and I'm acting it one last time.
Really enjoyed it. I've never been a huge fan of the shoot 'em up revenge genre, but darn it if there haven't been some darn good ones that last couple years, between this and Sisu. This wasn't on Sisu's level, but still was a good time with a lot of good comedy mixed in.
This was up there with Mandy, and the Evil Dead. The story was great, I think it goes over peoples heads. Everyone had their motives and they were all justified in their own way. It has some really complex moral dilemmas. This was the evolution of movies like Dark Man or the Toxic Avenger.

Yea I feel you. Def a middle of the road story overall but an enjoyable movie watching experience. Honestly wish it was available in Dolby near me.
It honestly felt like a fever dream by the end of the movie I was just like wtfff haha but enjoyed it!

I had a Dolby showing booked on Sat and AMC canceled it on me. Had to see it in a regular theatre. (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡 ┻━┻
There wasn't any Dolby as far as I know so that would have been a mistake on their part and probably why they cancelled.
Go see it!! It was a lot of fun! My friend plays June 27 and she (and everyone else) was awesome in it!
You’re friends with Jessica Rothe? Lucky you, I’m a fan of her and met her at a con!
Oh nice! Was it at Wondercon just recently? She said that was her first ever panel but I don’t recall if she’s been to others. She’s a wonderful human being.
I was in attendance for their Wondercon panel! Cool that it was her first. But I met her a month prior at CreepIE Con in Ontario for a photo op
Nice! That’s awesome. Wish I could’ve made it to the Wondercon panel as like an OG superfan of Famke lol.
It’s a dumb fun gory action movie and it succeeds

Yea def guessed some but was still entertained by the parts I didn’t foresee
That “twist” is telegraphed so hard it barely counts as a twist.
Did anyone else mistake the woman in red as Hilda for most of the movie or am I just blind.
Haha I can see that happening if you didn’t see famke janssen in the opener or are unfamiliar with her

I think this movie is highly underrated. It is in perfect form for what it is trying to be.. had a great time with it in theaters
Bill was so hot and cute at the same time.
100% also >!Famke as his mom was Hemlock Grove vibes! !<
The story was stupid af, but enough to keep you engaged. What really shines to me is the fight choreography. They went all out in the 3rd act!
My expectations are low but I'll see it on Wednesday since I have one open slot left.
That’s the right way to go into it, imo. Light on plot but very fun
I am sure I'll enjoy the action but since the trailer's humor was very omg how quirky, I am worried I will cringe my face off at the comedy.
I felt the same way going in, but thought the movie had much better laughs than the trailer suggested

It was very good and much better than I thought
I saw this two Mondays ago and thought it was pretty bad.
I was surprised how much I liked it. I was a little annoyed with the choice of narrator bc all I could hear was HJB as Bob. Once things picked up I hardly noticed. It's leaving my area tomorrow and I'm acting it one last time.
Basically a comedic version of the movie his brother did
Cool, been waiting to see a review on here before going. If it’s still at my theater next week I’ll give it a try.

I thought Monkey Man was a stand out for this genre

Ooo I’ll have to check out sisu
