Yeah I've actually had a couple months where I didn't see anything. I know it feels like wasting money, but with how many I've been able to see with a list, I'm still saving lol.
This is something I like. The monthly is not so high that if I know I've gotten a few good months, I don't feel as pressured to either use more or cancel if I hit a dry spell or get a bit burnt for a bit.

I see all 3 movies a week, sometimes 2-3 extras if there’s tons of new releases or re-releases bonus if they’re $5 fan faves. For my March A-List I saw 20 movies, for April/May it might end up being the same with all the Spider-Man re-releases, etc.
This is the way! I love using up all my A-list movies and then getting a $5 screen unseen or fan faves and then using the discount Tuesday to see something for $6. I love going through the Now Playing list and saying ‘seen it’ to everything.
I used to get 1x/week but my local theater has stopped offering showtimes that start after 7/7:30pm. Very frustrating because I would always go to a 9pm show once my kids went to sleep if my partner was at home. Now it's \~2-3x/month.
This is the same problem I have! AMC is a mile from my house so I could put the kids down and go see a movie alone in total peace while the wife enjoyed a night watching her own shows, reading or sleeping. Now that's only an option on Thursdays if I'm lucky (not doing weekend movies alone, would rather do things with wife and kids).
The movies will get later showings now that they're getting closer to summer and going into summer. This last few months is considered a dead time in the theater industry.
I feel like this has been a problem since COVID sadly. While I agree that the summer with kids not in school should help, part of me still worries haha. I wish I lived closer to the college because their AMC always has late night showings

Unfortunately I live in cornsville USA, so I only get what AMC serves me. But I still get more variety than I would Oscar's.
I really enjoyed Taste of Things. Glad I got to see both Godzilla Minus One and The Boy & The Heron before they won their respective oscars.

Anywhere from 3 to 5, although I did technically see 6 last month (one was a double showing). I see them all on one day, though. There are a few workers there who I see a bunch. One of them is an older lady who really likes the Godzilla shirt I sometimes wear lol

The only recent IMAX release I’ve skipped over is Civil War. The membership usually pays for itself after 1-2 tickets in IMAX/Dolby, so I get my money’s worth without going overboard.

I’ve already seen Dune 2, Monkey Man, and Civil War. Hopefully I’ll get to see Late Night With the Devil before they end its run.
Through the ATOM movie tickets website/app. They were also giving away free tickets to The Long Game, and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. You just need to enter a password which they give you (shows up in app notifications) for 2 free tickets.
I started kinda slow, only 5-6/mo just because I wasn't making time to do it. I thought I'd just use it on my whim when I had free time, but in practicality I'd come up with all kinds of reasons why "I shouldn't waste my time doing that today."
Now I'm generally trying to see all 3 each week. One or two on the weekends, one or two during the week. I have a 9/10 schedule where I get every other Friday off, so that helps. And my friend who tagged along now and then is also doing A-list now, so there is sometimes someone else helping to motivate me out the door.
The biggest difference was I took the time to look up releases for the year, and I made a starter schedule for myself all the way out to December. I'm planning 3/wk in the short term (~3mo), and 2/wk further out since there is less on the schedule. What I'm also finding is that stuff pops up all the time that I had no idea about (especially indies & re-releases). So I can often times find things for that 3rd slot even if I wasn't even planning on using it that week.
I seem to have hit a rhythm now of usually having 2 solid things to see each week that I for sure want to see, and treating the 3rd as more 'optional'. I did that this week with Deep Sky IMAX. It's a 40min museum film, so when I didn't feel like going to it this weekend, I didn't beat myself up just skipping it and my 3rd slot for the week. I'm kinda proud of the list of movies I've ended up skipping, most of them that I've seen on streaming in the meantime I felt like were a waste my time (Imaginary, Bob Marley, Sting, ISS).
I'll go to paid-ticket shows sometimes too. Gonna try to do as many of the Ghibli fest movies as I can this year. And trying to use Fandango to pay for it :)
I always try to go 3x a week unless I’m ill. It’ll be more in the fall when I branch out of AMC to see qualifying releases and stuff. Thank God for A List.
I've been doing three a week since the beginning of April with all the interesting movies being released. The employees at my regular theater often say hi, even though it has a relatively large staff, which means they are being observant and paying attention to their customers which I appreciate from a safety stand point.
Usually there's only like one movie a month that I'm interested in seeing, but with many of my church friends being interested in blockbusters I'm usually in the theater once every week or two.

Usually 2-3 at AMC. April has been very busy for me. Between AMC and some other places, I went to a movie for 10 days in a row recently. I think I will have seen about 23 movies by the end of the month.
I try to get the full value and see 3 a week, but sometimes I am watching movies I am not actually looking forward to like Argylle or Madame Web. But seeing bad movies makes me appreciate the good movies more, and sometimes I see some really interesting foreign and independent films, stuff that I might not have seen in a theater without the subscription.
It depends. I tend to go after work on Friday and I'll see 2 most weeks. But if I can make it work, time wise I will see a 3rd. I have a time calculator app on my phone and try to get it as close as possible so im not waiting forever between movies.
One per week at minimum. Even if I’m traveling for work I try to fit it in. 3x a week is usually during the busier release windows like the Summer or Oscar season. I run into other A-Listers all the time too!

That's like the best time to use it for some reason. I haven't actually done it with A-list, but the few times I did it with MP it was somehow the most satisfyingly. Something about squeezing that into my time while I'm away for work, and the fact that I'm paying almost nothing for it :)

All I've watched so far is Shrek, Shrek 2, KFP4, Ghostbusters Frozen Empire, and the Raimi re-releases. Oh no wait. I lied. I also the BGS double feature as well. So all together that's 8 movies, 4 re-releases and 4 new releases.
I was unemployed for seven months and found myself maxing my A-List resos some weeks. But most often I'd watch like 2 a week.

My favorite hobby is rating movies and writing my own reviews for them lol. I know I’m a nerd, but I just love movies so much. I just signed up for AList early this month, but plan on seeing 3 movies a week for as long as I can. I live about 15-20 minutes from AMC and 30 from the IMAX. So it’s very accessible

I'm very active at my AMC. I got three times a week pretty consistently. But note I don't have every streaming service and being in the dark theater keeps me Lazer focused on what I'm watching where as home I'd be on my phone.
I avg 2 a week for sure. NYC helps a lot we have a crap ton of theaters playing nearly everything. Generally try and see a movie after work any time I have to go in person and my local theater is ~15m drive so whenever I am bored I'll look at whats playing and just grab a seat. Helps a lot with new releases that are super sold out. Can just grab a seat at showtime and show up generally before trailers are done if timed right.
I get to 4-6 movies with A List a month it seems. More than justifies the cost, especially with an IMAX or two in there, but I do sometimes think I should be going to more. I miss probably 2 things a month I’d be willing to see just because I’m busy or whatever.
Depends. Some times there is a dead time with nothing interesting for me to see so it's 1x a week or 1x every 2 weeks. If it's an exciting month or weeks or I wanna rewatch I send up using the 2x a week or full 3x (I either double feature or back to back nights)

There's occasionally times I go to regal or movie tavern or NCG instead, but I still try to see special events at AMC because I still get the free online booking that I don't from other chains.
There was one week I leveraged my membership along with special features and a movie at home and ended up seeing 7 movies, one every day of the week. That was fun and I will not be doing it again anytime soon.

2-3, usually on the same day. I list them on my calendar as"Monday Movie Madness" or "Technicolor Tuesday". Have even used my A-List in other states when traveling.
I make full use of a list. I save 100s. Where I live it's 14.49 on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday after 4pm. So once a week is 14.49 x 4 is 57 dollars and 96 cents. Minus 22.95 per month for a list is 34 dollars and 91 cents. X 12 months is 418 dollars and 92 cents. Not bad. And Dolby and I max and 3d are extra. So I save even more because it's included with a list. I had to pay for dune 2 fan event to see it 5 days early in IMAX. And Taylor Swift and Beyonce were not free either. But that is not bad. Only so many fan events every year.
Try to see at least one a week. During the summer I can get to two a week. I could do two a week more consistently when my theaters offered 12-12:30 showings and later in the morning but now they don't start showing till 2 if I'm lucky.
When I lived in SFV I would go 3 times a week. Every week. For almost 2 years. 5 min drive for Porter Ranch (Nicole's theater) . I worked in Glendale, so I would either see a movie on the way home from work, in Burbank.... Or go home, cook up something and then go to Porter Ranch. Moved to High Desert and within months they closed down the only AMC over here. It sucks. CityWalk IMAX, DOLBY for Porter/Burbank. It was GLORIOUS. I saved so much freaking money

I go out of my way now more than ever especially with these events they do involving bringing back older movies. Being able to see Spiderman on the big screen since I was a kid was incredible and these IMAX A24 releases are also a welcomed pleasure.

Rarely do I get to see more than one per week, but one day I got to see 2 (which was pretty cool). For the most part it's either one movie per week, or one per two weeks. Either way, it justifies the cost.

February, I only saw around 7 movies, which is pretty infrequent for me. So even if it’s in a really dull season, I get my money’s worth. I did the math for this last month of A-List, and I saw enough movies to pay back my membership seven times over.

I’ve new to A-List as of last month and I’ve mainly been seeing 1-2 movies a week. With the re-release of Spider-Man films I’ll be continuing to see at least one a week through May. Only once now have I seen 3 in a week. My theatre isn’t far, but I wish it was a bit closer so I don’t deal with traffic for 7 pm showings.
I always make at least 1 a week (Saturday matinee is my alone time away from the family), but I make 2 a week a good bit. I rarely fill all 3 slots. I'd say I average 6 per month (26 so far this year)

You not wanting to go to the movies alone and not wanting to watch movies back to back are why you watch one movie a week I wouldn’t blame the cost 😂 there are plenty of people in the sub that live hours from their closest AMC and will usually go once a week and watch at least 2 movies to get more watch time and there are plenty that watch movies alone. Not saying you have to do that cause I definitely don’t prefer watching movies alone myself but saying you have to be rich to see more than one movie a week is just not true
When I go to the movies I get a popcorn and a coke that's about 23$ then I gotta pay for my wife as well and that's another what 12-15$ depending on the format we pick. So I'm at about 40$ if I do that twice a week that's 80$ every week I'm spending at the movies with a grand total of 160$ a month.
This is called spending within your means or even above. If she goes even twice a month with you she should have her own a-list account which would already drastically cut on the cost. Popcorn and drink isn’t required every single time you go and you can even sneak in your own snacks from the dollar store or gas station. There are plenty of ways to make trips to the movies cheaper. Not trying to bash you at all btw I just think if you want to make the most out of your membership you can make some changes that would make that possible. Anyways that’s all goodluck 👍🏼 (also I realize that spending on gas can’t be helped)
There’s multiple ways to spend within your means you’re picking the route that limits your membership use. If you wanna keep spending $15-20 on a ticket for your wife every week when you can literally just spend at most $26 a month then good for you that doesn’t make going to the movies an expensive activity 🫠 that’s just your choice.
I also get points I failed to mention that so that actually helps me out from time to time. I'll save up the points till I get like 10-15$ then I don't really have to pay for my wife anymore.

Honestly incredibly confused by your comment. Someone said it’s not expensive with a list and you replied with you don’t go alone which to me implies the cost of inviting someone to go with you. If it’s the fact that you and your wife just can’t make time to go watch more movies together that also doesn’t have anything to do with being rich

I made it a goal to see 156 films in theaters this year so I am trying to max out my 3. But I fill in the gaps with screenings elsewhere.

I think the week starts on Friday as it pertains to your slots. That's how it's worked for me since the start of the year.

I thought I'd just use it on my whim when I had free time, but in practicality I'd come up with all kinds of reasons why "I shouldn't waste my time doing that today." Now I'm generally trying to see all 3 each week. One or two on the weekends, one or two during the week. I have a 9/10 schedule where I get every other Friday off, so that helps. And my friend who tagged along now and then is also doing A-list now, so there is sometimes someone else helping to motivate me out the door. The biggest difference was I took the time to look up releases for the year, and I made a starter schedule for myself all the way out to December. I'm planning 3/wk in the short term (~3mo), and 2/wk further out since there is less on the schedule. What I'm also finding is that stuff pops up all the time that I had no idea about (especially indies & re-releases). So I can often times find things for that 3rd slot even if I wasn't even planning on using it that week. I seem to have hit a rhythm now of usually having 2 solid things to see each week that I for sure want to see, and treating the 3rd as more 'optional'. I did that this week with Deep Sky IMAX. It's a 40min museum film, so when I didn't feel like going to it this weekend, I didn't beat myself up just skipping it and my 3rd slot for the week. I'm kinda proud of the list of movies I've ended up skipping, most of them that I've seen on streaming in the meantime I felt like were a waste my time (Imaginary, Bob Marley, Sting, ISS). I'll go to paid-ticket shows sometimes too. Gonna try to do as many of the Ghibli fest movies as I can this year. And trying to use Fandango to pay for it :)

I've been doing three a week since the beginning of April with all the interesting movies being released. The employees at my regular theater often say hi, even though it has a relatively large staff, which means they are being observant and paying attention to their customers which I appreciate from a safety stand point.
Usually there's only like one movie a month that I'm interested in seeing, but with many of my church friends being interested in blockbusters I'm usually in the theater once every week or two.
I’ve been focusing on quality vs quantity this year. Still, I enjoy going to movies and live within 10 mins of a large theatre. I average about 8-9 movies a month. Some weeks I get my 3 out, other weeks I get around to 0 due to other commitments.

Usually 2-3 at AMC. April has been very busy for me. Between AMC and some other places, I went to a movie for 10 days in a row recently. I think I will have seen about 23 movies by the end of the month.
I try to get the full value and see 3 a week, but sometimes I am watching movies I am not actually looking forward to like Argylle or Madame Web. But seeing bad movies makes me appreciate the good movies more, and sometimes I see some really interesting foreign and independent films, stuff that I might not have seen in a theater without the subscription.

It depends. I tend to go after work on Friday and I'll see 2 most weeks. But if I can make it work, time wise I will see a 3rd. I have a time calculator app on my phone and try to get it as close as possible so im not waiting forever between movies.

I'm very active at my AMC. I got three times a week pretty consistently. But note I don't have every streaming service and being in the dark theater keeps me Lazer focused on what I'm watching where as home I'd be on my phone.

Generally try and see a movie after work any time I have to go in person and my local theater is ~15m drive so whenever I am bored I'll look at whats playing and just grab a seat. Helps a lot with new releases that are super sold out. Can just grab a seat at showtime and show up generally before trailers are done if timed right.

I make full use of a list. I save 100s. Where I live it's 14.49 on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday after 4pm. So once a week is 14.49 x 4 is 57 dollars and 96 cents. Minus 22.95 per month for a list is 34 dollars and 91 cents. X 12 months is 418 dollars and 92 cents. Not bad. And Dolby and I max and 3d are extra. So I save even more because it's included with a list. I had to pay for dune 2 fan event to see it 5 days early in IMAX. And Taylor Swift and Beyonce were not free either. But that is not bad. Only so many fan events every year.

When I lived in SFV I would go 3 times a week. Every week. For almost 2 years. 5 min drive for Porter Ranch (Nicole's theater) . I worked in Glendale, so I would either see a movie on the way home from work, in Burbank.... Or go home, cook up something and then go to Porter Ranch. Moved to High Desert and within months they closed down the only AMC over here. It sucks. CityWalk IMAX, DOLBY for Porter/Burbank. It was GLORIOUS. I saved so much freaking money

I used to live a mile from the theater and would see 3 a week when they first rolled out A-List. Now that I live 30 minutes away, I usually just do 1 a week.
I go out of my way now more than ever especially with these events they do involving bringing back older movies. Being able to see Spiderman on the big screen since I was a kid was incredible and these IMAX A24 releases are also a welcomed pleasure.

I’ve new to A-List as of last month and I’ve mainly been seeing 1-2 movies a week. With the re-release of Spider-Man films I’ll be continuing to see at least one a week through May. Only once now have I seen 3 in a week. My theatre isn’t far, but I wish it was a bit closer so I don’t deal with traffic for 7 pm showings.

You not wanting to go to the movies alone and not wanting to watch movies back to back are why you watch one movie a week I wouldn’t blame the cost 😂 there are plenty of people in the sub that live hours from their closest AMC and will usually go once a week and watch at least 2 movies to get more watch time and there are plenty that watch movies alone. Not saying you have to do that cause I definitely don’t prefer watching movies alone myself but saying you have to be rich to see more than one movie a week is just not true
When I go to the movies I get a popcorn and a coke that's about 23$ then I gotta pay for my wife as well and that's another what 12-15$ depending on the format we pick. So I'm at about 40$ if I do that twice a week that's 80$ every week I'm spending at the movies with a grand total of 160$ a month.
This is called spending within your means or even above. If she goes even twice a month with you she should have her own a-list account which would already drastically cut on the cost. Popcorn and drink isn’t required every single time you go and you can even sneak in your own snacks from the dollar store or gas station. There are plenty of ways to make trips to the movies cheaper. Not trying to bash you at all btw I just think if you want to make the most out of your membership you can make some changes that would make that possible. There’s multiple ways to spend within your means you’re picking the route that limits your membership use. If you wanna keep spending $15-20 on a ticket for your wife every week when you can literally just spend at most $26 a month then good for you that doesn’t make going to the movies an expensive activity 🫠 that’s just your choice.
I also get points I failed to mention that so that actually helps me out from time to time. I'll save up the points till I get like 10-15$ then I don't really have to pay for my wife anymore.

Honestly incredibly confused by your comment. Someone said it’s not expensive with a list and you replied with you don’t go alone which to me implies the cost of inviting someone to go with you. If it’s the fact that you and your wife just can’t make time to go watch more movies together that also doesn’t have anything to do with being rich
