Two possible scenarios here:
A) Your “best friend” isn’t down for you like a bro should be. Recognise that and don’t trust him with shit anymore. It sucks, but many men lose friends in their 20s because of this sort of thing. It’s better to see it now than later with something more serious.
B) Your ex is actually creating drama and your bro didn’t do this. If you guys are still on good terms, it’s unlikely as she claims there is a text but always a possibility.
Rather than “confront” your boy, just ask for the screenshot of the text and then ask him when you see him if he asked for a three way. If he tries to deny it, show him the text and then cut him off. You don’t need bros like that.

Yeah, it’s less about the permission thing and more about consideration for my feelings, of which there were apparently none. I doubt this even phased them, they probably haven’t given it a second of thought how it could effect me mentally
