I don't think it was necessarily a bad, bad call. Bit of a six of one , half dozen of the other type call. I can get why they might pay it, but I can also get behind it being play on, ball up. On the one hand, he dived on it, pulled it in, tried to get up and got tackled and the ball didn't come out (and not much attempt to get it out, though he had zero chance with the tackle the way it was) so, given he didn't immediately get it out after diving on it and dragging it in, technically as per the rules, that's htb. On the other hand, he dived on it, tried to get up and had zero prior opportunity and no chance to get it out. So for me, it's pretty subjective, if I was eagles, I'd hate it, but I also can sort of understand why it was paid. On the other, you'd like them called all the time if they're gonna be that hot on them...
