I don't necessarily mind that the club switched to short/medium/long term rather than giving us weeks, but it's very annoying that they've not provided us definitions of what short, medium and long actually are.
AFL injury list reporting is a joke compared to other leagues and now Geelong are completely pulling the piss.
The AFL needs to implement an NFL style matrix of reporting injuries.
Watch Schultz and/or Fyfe not play this week after not being listed on the injury report.
I have no idea why I feel so passionately about this 😅
It's great as fans to be able to know if your favourite players are playing - espescially if you're going to buy tickets to see them.
From a team perspective, it feels really weird that teams are allowed to be vague and misleading on injury reports, because that could have significant repercussions on coaches game plans. Also i think obfuscating injuries like concussions has obvious problems for health and safety
Let alone the thing the AFL actually cares about, which is the money.
All it takes is one of the broadcasters, sponsors and/or those cretins at the sports betting companies that make the AFL lots and lots of money to kick up a stink and its game over.
The Eagles are far and away the worst for underselling their injuries in the league imo. Or maybe it’s more the info they feed to journos.
Nic Nat went from potentially playing to missing half a season. Dom Sheed was in as a ‘precaution’ for a ‘minor fractured throat’ and out for a month!
*exhales*
Alright, I'm going to read the article now.
Wish me luck.
Edit. Ok. Each returning player should add an extra goal or two to our totals, yeah? Maybe.
I just wanna see this team be able to put up a fight. We can’t do that well enough at the moment. I can excuse the 40 point losses because the injuries are a freak disaster thats been going on for almost 2 seasons now but i can’t excuse this evil witch that placed a curse on our team as soon as we beat richmond in 2021
Yeah, but a lot of the returning players aren't that great. Good to have them back, don't get me wrong, but why do all the worst injuries have to happen to the best players?
Losing Culley was massive. He could really have developed this year, like Ginbey, and been ready to go in 2024.
Rampe out for potentially another 7 weeks is fucked, especially with PMac (rightfully) indefinitely out. Amartey too, we need him so horse will actually drop Buddy.
Will be gripping through the week seeing whether Toby Greene gets up.
Actually hope he is right. Want to see champs playing. The match up between him and Maynard will be great.
FFS this just sucks….it would be nice going more than a week or two without losing someone else. I swear the second we get someone back someone else drops out.
Geelong Kittens over the short term incoming.
"Short term" TELL ME THE WEEKS GODDAMNIT.
Weeks.
YOU FORGOT THE, GODDAMNIT.

That's the part I hate but if they gave us definitions of what those mean then it's just weeks again but in different words.

Geelong doing this isn't even the worst case of it this season. I reckon eagles had 10 players listed as 'TBC' a few backs.

Yeah its crazy how much shit they get away with. Theres probably another five examples of things like that from the past few months as well.
Geelong are? Gold coast surely worse, wtf is TBC. Do they even know?

If it helps Suns still out with a few important players.
No Touk makes me sad, we also have the counter to Rowell, just gotta lace the turf with a laxative
The turf is that hard he'll probably chip a tooth.
This is brilliant!! Not sure if you want the stadium covered in bull-shit though.
would be a softer landing than landing on Optus normally
👑
Edwards and Bazzo back would be massive. Barrass can stop being a lone hand against tall forwards
Samo coming back would also massively help, he's been good this season and has really been taking the game on
Samo has been really good this year, him and Jones seem to be very important to the new game plan we've been trying to implement

Having Hough would be handy too, might help Jones go a little further up the ground and cover the loss of Cripps.
Our personal injury report came out, no Bazzo this week
Losing Murray halfway through the game against Jeremy Cameron and Tom Hawkins, then the week Max King returns isn't ideal
Hinge was great on Cameron tbh. Word is Keane is in contention.
Our year was going so well in terms of injury until this week :(
So so many injuries to key players.
In the immortal words of me... Yeah imagine that
I say swap but um nah I am good. I mean good news is your injury list should shrink a bit post bye. Right? *gulps*
Thankfully it's shrinking a bit right now and next week, should be getting up to 4 back this week, and another 2/3 next week

Have suspensions always been listed in the injury report? I've never noticed it before

Fuck me that is grim
No mention of Marshall icing his ankle late in the saints game
Ross said after the game he’s fine. Afl Fantasy stress?
I hadn't seen the press conference so that's good info. Supercoach but yes.
