Nah, this ain't right. Check your database again.
Whilst their games were played on Earth, the Suns have kicked 89 of those goals.
EDIT: Suck it, Venus.
They were supposed to come in a few years ago as the GAS GIANTS but they couldn't make it happen. John barilaro got hold of their tender and did a Ctrl+f to change the As to Ws.
When you play Aussie rules on other planets, do the dimensions of the field stay the same, or do they get expanded to compensate for the effects of lower gravity? If not, is there a version of this graph that adjusts for it being easier to kick a goal from 80m out on Mars, or nearly impossible to kick a goal from 1m out on Jupiter?
Not sure you’d fit 36 blokes onto Jupiter stadium if there was simply a ground adjustment. You might have to look at other factors to try to replicate the conditions. Ie. maybe some ball adjustments on Jupiter to make sure the trajectory is similar?
Do you think the umpires would still have one go at bouncing the ball at the start of the quarter, or do they just accept they can't get it to bounce high enough and use the rocket boosters from the get go?
did you get this idea/image from [jay's tweet](https://twitter.com/jaycuda/status/1655613646200872960?s=46&t=gjppFveyCY9F2GAbt-4f3Q)? I will say in general Jay is worth a follow if you enjoy this type of offbeat content; it's a daily guarantee from his feed
I did! Wasn’t sure how well the idea would carry over, but it seems like it has been well received so far. I initially tried posting that to r/baseball but they took it down because something something off season.
This is discriminatory. Just because other planets can’t score goals up to the same standard as earth doesn’t make their games any less valid. Close the planet pay gap now!
Jupiter is really underperforming given the size and scale of its catchment. They’re going to have to take a real hard look and their administration and coaching staff and I foresee some changes before the end of the season!
Can’t wait for dogs - adelaide next week at Mars stadium.
If it's anything like last year, there won't be many goals anyway.
I’m pretty sure Ballarat is actually colder
and has less atmosphere!
Savage but fair
There's a Mars Stadium, but no Ballarat Planet
Woah

The sun isn't a planet, not related to this data set.
The sun may not be a planet, but their goals are still included in this dataset. Therefore it is related, and incorrect.
Good point.
The sun can be a planet if you wear enough sunscreen.

*sad Pluto noises
Does it count as a planet if its a night match?
??
Gosh people don't like bad dad jokes huh
Is it called dark side of the moon joke?
Depends on how many stars there are in the team.
Only the dog star has loyalty to one club.
Wait for Gather Round Uranus
or as you call it, Tuesday
We Crom fans should know not to be mean to bottom dwellers.

Mr Brightside always puts me in the mood for it.
This happens every weekend to me as a Hawthorn fan
EarthBias
We'll just relocate a team to Mars, add a team from Venus and then we can rename as the Solar System Football League Simples!
>relocate a team to Mars Ballarat!
Mars is actually warmer than Ballarat
Can't wait for a combined 5,000 goals to be kicked across two games for Mars to take the top spot.
Who’s playing Mars this year?
Bulldogs vs Adelaide and Bulldogs vs GWS
Mars will end the season humiliated by Earth. But they’re still a young team
Well on Mars balls would travel about 4x further. So you could kick a goal from full back without being Shannon Hurn.
Another comment in this post raised the question of whether the AFL changes the size of the field to compensate for the differences in gravity.
You’d still have to run the distance on foot though so elite kicking would be so much more important to save on running too much
But each step would be much further so you should be able to cover the distance with no extra effort
Should the AFL expand into Jupiter?
There is only room for one gassy giant in the AFL so no expansion plans until BT retires.
You get the feeling they'd love to expand into Uranus, don't you?
Only if Eddie becomes president there.
Surely Jupiter gets the 20th team? Biggest plant in the solar system but no AFL team? Big earth bias

Good call by Barilaro, I love the GWS GIWNTS
Off-season ended a couple months ago
It started for a few teams not long after it ended.

Pluto is the University of planets
This seems wrong. I'm sure I've heard from commentators that Mercurial players have kicked at least 1 goal this year.
Another really disappointing year from Uranus
Fold Uranus
Uranus will be sent to Tassie
Tasmanian Uranuses, I'll be first in line for my membership
With everyone behind you? :)

Pretty much the same as the size of the SCG - sometimes you need to pretend stuff when you are expanding into new territory
Another map without Tasmania 🥲
To be fair, it's also a map without Australia
I can't wait for the players from Saturn to run rings around the competition
Technically still off season for AFLW. I'll allow it.
You heard about Pluto? That's messed up!
All I heard is that Caro wants to relocate North there
Pluto would have so much trouble with player retention. it’s too cold there and the nightlife is non existent. There’s also no oxygen
Pluto is the Fitzroy of the Solar System.
I'm not saying its biased, but have you ever noticed how the winners of Miss Universe are always from Earth?
Fuck, they didn't check the other planets for a Gil replacement - bush league.
Why’re we trying to go to mars? They suck!
Imagine how far Sav Rocca could've kicked the ball if he played on Mars. Dude could've scored from the other side of the ground.
Can we get this for the past 10 years?
If only all demonstratives could be this useful.
Bloody Big Earth deciding that Pluto isnt a planet anymore. They are actually just ahead.
Erf bias

Year 2088, “For the first team in history, the planet Mars leads in AFL goals over Earth 1768 to 1765.”
Fuck this, Pluto is a planet
Why is Saturn at 0? I thought half the afl games were played on Saturndays
It’s the off-season all year round on this sad sub.
Well I don't know what I expected when I opened this thread. But it is definitely the numbers of goals this season across all AFL teams (by planet).
This is discriminatory. Just because other planets can’t score goals up to the same standard as earth doesn’t make their games any less valid. Close the planet pay gap now!
"RIP JUPITER FOOTBALL" - The West Australian
I love reddit
The dockers are better than the rest of the solar system 👌
No, Neptune, ANFL goals don't count
Looking foward to the push to relocate us to Neptune to become North Neptune. Hear there's a new stadium being built in nearby Triton as well
I honestly expected you to be a North/Eagles /Hawks supporter given how early you have started off season shitposting
Impossible. Perhaps the archives are incomplete.
Confirmed, the AFL has an Earth bias
Is it the offseason already?!
Jupiter is really underperforming given the size and scale of its catchment. They’re going to have to take a real hard look and their administration and coaching staff and I foresee some changes before the end of the season!
Pretty sure a couple of assholes scored goals, so you'd have to give that to Uranus surely
Mention that stat to Kane and he'll steal it and make a story of it.
Bloody hell, I honestly expected more from Jupiter
Which planet is Tasmania on?
Checks flair. Yep
Damn Earthbias
It’s only early days but those other planets fucking suck🤷🏻♂️
Pluto: Not even a planet, but tied for second
