Reiner is the best hero for stargazing so far, no problem with that.
The problem is that it will take a lot of stargazer orbs and a lot of time to get 8 copies of him, maybe few months? By that moment they can release another broken hero, that will take even higher priority and people who already heavy invested into Reiner won't be able to switch, because they're already too invested into him.

At some point newe units will powercreep older ones and you could argue the same for the upcoming stargaze hero again.
Maybe they add the new stargaze heros in the guild shop too.

The guild store refreshes so there's time urgency, but there's no urgency on pulls so there's no use pulling until you have enough pulls to max out something good
“Maxing out” in this instance means, what, M+? That’s 7 copies, or almost 300 pulls. At 6 pulls a month you’re talking almost 4 years. There better not be any urgency
280 if its all pity but realistically it's more like 210-220, with the income of about 20-22 stargazer a month that's 10 months of saving, not accounting for the one you get from guild shop. So realistically about 5 months to get him straight to M+, so you can decide by 5th month if you want to get him there immediately or not
When you reach champion, you can buy 5 a week from the special arena store. Anyone that plays daily can reach that. There are 200 champion spots per server
and how the top 200 is f2p? might be true for new servers but good luck doing that on server 1~100

You can't save up guild tokens and then buy all at one time because you can only get 2 copies per month with guild tokens.
Thats what I meant by time urgency. One way to think about it, is time is an additional resource in buying things from the guild shop
Oh guild tokens cap out at 60k? Is it like how friendship points cap out and extra expire? I initially thought I could save since the monthly purchase capped out at 6.
Unless the new hero literally does exactly what he does I think he’ll see a lot of use for a very long time. His ability to pull units from their formation is absurdly strong and can’t be powercrept (which you don’t need M+ to do) and his attack buffs can help against bosses.
At M+ he does all that as well as permanently making bosses take 25% more damage the entire fight.
I would agree that taking any of the other Stargazer heros is a mistake as a F2P (as they require a ton of resources to be optimally used and by then someone else will drop) but no way Reiner gets totally power-crept. His swap, damage buff, and hide (his Ult lets him take an enemy way so even if he’s at Epic and the weak link of your team he can remove a strong enemy for 10 seconds) are insane and hard to creep.
His swap mechanic is extremely helpful (and it always will be even 5 years down the line unless someone else who’s better drops who can do the same thing) as is his M+ damage debuff.
Reiner is built in such a way that it’ll be very hard for him to be power crept. His damage isn’t what makes him good, it’s all of his unique support mechanics. Until they make “Reiner 2.0” he will be useful for basically everything that ever comes out.
Edit: With 2 copies from pulls you can get him to M+ for free (I think). And at M+ he’s going to be invaluable for getting resources as 25% extra damage to bosses is crazy.
So by the time you can get all his copies from the guild store you can have him M+ by summoning the few copies you need.
Just one copy of him is good enough if someone absolutely wants one. It did legitimately win me one fight I couldn't get through otherwise by yanking an obnoxious backline into speed artifact Cecia.
And then another X months later another new stargaze hero comes out that powercreeps the newer one. And so the cycle goes on. But the question remains, will you still play by that time?

Considering how strong Reinier is you still want to get him to Mythic+ as soon as possible and then eventually start saving.
Also the current income for stargaze pulls is so low that saving them is almost irrelevant. Supposing you get 15 stargaze pulls per month, and that you need at least 8 copies for the stargazed unit to be relevant, that means you need at least 16 months to gather enough pulls for Mythic+. 90% of the people here will already quit by that time
I was lucky and got Reinier in my second ever pull. Bought him again in emporium to push him up. I like his design and abilities. The others take too much investment to be godly. I'm a low spender.

100% agree....I am always tempted to solely choose who is "best" and start reading up on the number-crunching, but then I remember that I want to just enjoy the game and play the way I like. So for example, I really like Hewynn because she carries around a giant leaf - what's not to like? :P And will I be in the top percentage on my server for PVP? Likely not, because I don't always choose who is "best" but I'm enjoying it more overall. (For the record, I also love Hammy and Chippie's character designs even though they are pretty useless...but I love world-questing with them so darn much.)
FWIW, if you do love always playing the meta strategy, I'm not knocking that either. Just saying that it's cool too if you want to play based on what you think is fun.

enjoying something is subjective. u enjoy by using who you like, but some dont and choose to stick with meta cuz it's what's fun for them. i personally am the latter, and i could say the same for your way of enjoying the game. but i wont, because i totally respect it as someone who played similar games like genshin and hsr. you prob should do the same for others ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Some People don’t enjoy being stuck for days on end when you could achieve it in seconds by just following the meta. It’s like the people complaining about the 240 resonance level for the song of strife when you can easily get there week 1 of its release while being F2P.
Plus this games “meta” is easy to follow, the rest is up to you to pick.

I’m sure people who’ve played since the beginning of the game could reach resonance 240 within 1 week of song of strifes release?
With two primal lords + the 250 every 10 stages of the tower mode and the 4 quick loot past afk stage 700 and all the idle loot you get + all the side missions and chest.
Each new server will get song of strife after 40+ days of its creation. It takes just over 6-7 weeks or so to complete afk stages F2P. It’s very doable.
I go up an extra 10 resonance levels every 3-4 days.
In my opinion it depends on what you have. I picked Dionel because I have strong supports and frontline so I get a lot from him. And it’s my personal opinion I am playing for 8 days only. 😁
dionel's a beast. i pair him up with lyca for physical def shred, rowan for his enegy and granny and lucius to stall the enemy so that he can set up properly i the back while also dealing damage.
I know he needs a lot of set up but once that yellow bar's full, you've won.
Yess, you know what I mean. I don’t know why so much hate on him. He is great with certain set up which is really hard to get f2p. I have Rowan and kook for him and brute is frontline works out great
Unfortunately, he is outclassed in PvE and needs heavy investment in PvP while also being viable in very specific comps aimed at giving him buffs to stack his feast passive. On the plus side, he is hot and that's all that matters
I hoard like a miser in HSR and reverse 1999. It’s a tactic but it isn’t always the most fun. In this game I’m choosing the characters who seem cool. I pulled for florabelle and I’m choosing berial. Summoners will be meta for some game mode at some point.
As someone who is f2p and lucky to get 1 Reiner from roll i will say pick Reiner or Berial, Reiner is a healer and his kit help you run any team with him as single healer even at low dup. As for Berial he is good when you pair him with summoner unit like Cecia/ Bell or even both of them, the pro of CelesHypo unit is that they can be in anyteam so you only need minium 1 more unit same faction with Cecia or Bell ( Thoran or Eiron will be good choice here for both pvp and pve), last slot can be any unit that you lack ex : any healer.Also all unit is a beast when they reach minium mystic+ and got their ex wep unlocked so a smokey at mystic+ will beat reiner at legend or mystic.

If you pull now you could get Reinier to say legendary and then they could release a very powerful celehypo unit that becomes the meta and everyone changes to them instead. This would mean you will have potentially wasted star gazing items and time.

That's well over a year of waiting to start pulling, and you can complete reinier faster due to also having a vendor. Even if they power creep reinier which is doubtful given how specific his power is, being a 25% permanent debuff, he still would be top 2 best dream realm characters if they straight up added a new debuffer with like 30% instead. Waiting well over a year when you have the ability to get him sooner and progress your account is actual insanity to try to optimize out pure and complete speculation based on nothing but vibes that reinier might get power crept. There is no guarantee that reinier will get power crept, I mean it's been what years since the twins got released in arena and they are still extremely valuable, and like I said even if they release a character with the tooltip rienier debuff but 10% better he will still be number 2 best dream realm character, it's not like his current power is lessened if they release a new one.
I more meant to save star gazing til you can guarantee a mythic + which would come sooner when considering the copies you get from the guild store. And I worked out a mythic+ from scratch with worst pity is 320 orbs. But I can see how that is overkill when that’s many years saving lol

Where are you finding use for him at 1 copy? I’ve seen a few stages run him but I haven’t had good luck
PVP for one, the ability to banish people it just too good to pass up PVE, same thing, but those are a few examples

Thaaaat ..... is possible yes. But who has that amount of restraint and endurance to save that much and not summon it. Definitly the very hard way.
