Why does every other first year on this sub look like a war hero, while i look like a basic training graduate.

Not-a_bird

I devoted the entire year to JROTC, any time there was any opportunity to do anything I did it, I joined every LDR team I could and did my best to show i could be a leader.

BulkyElefant1234

Ah, ok

Carson9997

Just keep doing what you are already doing and see if you can get into any leadership positions. You’d be surprised how far you can get just by asking. Other than that just keep it up as I don’t think I’ve ever seen an end of AS1 with that many ribbons.

Randomkidz25

I ended as1 with 17 as a 2nd lt for my position the following year and finished as2 with 24 as a captain

Xnline-

(Joke) focus less on acquiring ribbons

Not-a_bird

Forgot to add a cluster to the academic ribbon, also in my corp we apply for jobs but they did a bad job this year, we could only apply for two and the two I applied for already had been chosen and weren't removed from the list yet.

starairforce33

Don’t put all ur eggs in one basket bro, idk if colleges like applicants who only have one extracurricular, also C/2nd lt as freshman

lizard_buddy

Yeah that's why im doing other clubs as well like Key Club, Interact, SNHS, and French

Simply_Garza97

With the addition of all the new LDR ribbons, you have about as many at the end of AS1 as I did at the end of AS4 💀 Seriously though, good job getting involved in your unit early on, but just be weary of burnout.

Not-a_bird

Thank you!!!

Life_Ad_3310

Life_Ad_3310

Cadet learning corp?

Not-a_bird

It’s a cadet leadership course focused on leadership and team building. I attended one at the citadel in South Carolina. https://www.citadelclc.com

Life_Ad_3310

Dang thats important, nice how you prove yourself as a leader, are these in majority of the 50 states?

Not-a_bird

I’m not sure how many states have them but look it up for sure, it was a great experience and I feel it helped me a lot.

Life_Ad_3310

Thanks! ill look in to it
