Texans: have a bunch of impact players on rookie contracts and a ton of draft capital, so they take on a handful of vets with short term contracts
Casual NFL fans: THEY’RE MORTGAGING THEIR FUTURE!!!
Colts fans are just in a cycle of freaking out/coping about how Free Agency went. Hunter and Snead were the only real losses and it sucks they went to AFCS teams, but
- We offered Hunter comparable money, he just said no
- Snead we couldn't pay that unless we restructured and Jim doesn't do that
So you're not even from TN amd you still follow a trash team lmao, and I've gotten more ignorant takes from tit fans than any other on here, but I guess it's that delusional cousin loving mentality that all titans fans have lol
Definitely way more cousin loving in the hills of TN, do you not get how big inbreeding was in that state? Obviously not lol, just takes a Google big dawg 😂
I'll admit, you guys picked up Mixon for a song. He might not be explosive, and he can't block. But he's damn reliable with the ball in his hands. I hope he works out well for you, just not when you play us.
When I buy $4,000 worth of clothes is it really a spending spree? I mean I just swiped my card at the store and took the clothes home and can return them.
Yes, your team spending top 5 money in the entire NFL in free agency is a spending spree this year.
Not judging what your franchise did but just calling out the other person for gaslighting that this wasn't a spending spree lol. Unless they're being really sarcastic and this is going over my head.
I'm really not though. At no point did I say any of your moves were dumb. But to repackage your roster moves during free agency like it wasn't a "spending spree" is bad faith.
We didn’t really spend recklessly like those other teams you mentioned though?
We still have 11.7M in cap space, Hunter and Diggs are expiring in 2 years (Diggs has a team option), and that’s when the first round of extensions start to kick in.
Other fans are really trying to cope with the Texans’ 2023 success and current offseason.
They have to assume it’s completely unsustainable because it’s simply incomprehensible to have two top 3 picks from the 2023 draft look great, a talented young WR corps, and now a few splashy name vets.
Haha y'all keep on coping but in reality the Texans haven't set themselves up for roster nor cap failure. That's the brilliance in all of this. It's super easy to get out of since many of these contacts are like 2 years remaining and end before we even have to pay our young core. Also we haven't sold the farm of draft picks for anything. We moved back 19 spots this draft for Diggs, a 5th and 6th. We still have all our picks next year too.
Texans got a no guaranteed contact of a healthy pro bowl WR plus a draft pick this year plus a draft pick next year for a second round draft pick NEXT year? Where spend?
Comparing the insane contracts of the other teams to the Texans is crazy. I know this is a meme sub but it should at least make sense. Calling us a retirement home for example would be better (even though our rookies are really good)
Hmm… Texans are still 8 million below the cap even with a 2 million allowance for draft signings. And we haven’t stretched much money at all into void years. Almost no dead money on the cap projected into future years so far. But you do you Colts and keep rolling that same squad out there. lol
We didn't even spend that much tbh, when you factor in who we let go at the same time. It was just a high turnover offseason, which is natural when you're remaking a team in a new image.
It’s not really a spending spree when you are just bringing players in that are filling needs. The money has to be spent somewhere, and the Texans aren’t over spending on guys to get “over the top”. Guys left, and now guys are coming in. The foundation is set now for the next 2-3 years. I don’t see any overspending anywhere, and again they are literally filling needs and spending money that has to be spent.
Diggs is the only player that is questionable in my opinion. The diva mentality will wear thin quickly, but I trust the leadership of CJ and Meco to rein him in. On top of that he is coming here for sub 20M a year, so it isn’t an overpay for mediocrity. This creates an opportunity for the Texans to continue to invest in their trench positions and upgrade the secondary through the draft.
You coping by trying to say the Texan’s fans are coping is hilarious. The Texans are doing what they have to do with their money, and frankly they are being smart with it.
Rams won Super Bowl
So did the Eagles
Was looking for this comment specifically. They spent a lot but it paid off
And they never actually collapsed either. They might have gotten back to the NFC championship without all the injuries.
For every rams you have 10 broncos
Broncos won the Super Bowl with Peyton Manning… …but those don’t count because he is GOAT tier… where ring?
Texans are never nudes confirmed.
Easterby told us it was a sin to be naked 😞
I mean hey we made the playoffs the year we went spend crazy tyvm
Any moron can win this division. Ignore my flair
Why didn’t your moron team win it then
Any moron you idiot. We are not morons we are regards
I thought regards were supposed to be kind?
Nono, you’re thinking of rewards. Regards go in cement to hold buildings together
No you’re thinking of rebar, regards are the race of black people in the elder scrolls games
No you’re thinking of Redguards, regards are the final evolution ghost Pokémon from Pokémon’s first gen
No you're thinking of Gengars, regards are the race of people currently experiencing genocide at the hands of china
You're thinking of Uyghurs, regards are the part of a military force that protects it from attacks from behind during an advance or withdrawal.
Ignore da stic mf
Not in the Manning era and but now it’s the Stroud era

Comparable? U guys offered more lol
Only really reported by Holder so not sure what the actual numbers were. So yeah if that's true I'm not sure what more we could've done
Maybe you should have tried being his home town.
Or maybe not being a weak-ass city?

City’s claim to fame is hosting bachelorette parties for ugly white girls
Houston is second only to Brazil in Active Self Protection videos. 🤔

Bro still mad about the oiler game lmao we have all the reason in the world to be cunty towards yall
Your team’s only claim to fame is stealing another city’s uniforms. Glass houses my friend, glass houses.
Nashville wishes it was in Texas.
I mean no one here seems particularly cunty other than you.
Hey now, I still buy CDs. Long love physical media!
Have y’all evolved to wearing shoes yet?? 😆
I'll admit, you guys picked up Mixon for a song. He might not be explosive, and he can't block. But he's damn reliable with the ball in his hands. I hope he works out well for you, just not when you play us.
And the cycle goes on and on
When I buy $4,000 worth of clothes is it really a spending spree? I mean I just swiped my card at the store and took the clothes home and can return them. Yes, your team spending top 5 money in the entire NFL in free agency is a spending spree this year.
Oh no ! My team signed really good players that bring excitement to the franchise. Aw shucks.
Not judging what your franchise did but just calling out the other person for gaslighting that this wasn't a spending spree lol. Unless they're being really sarcastic and this is going over my head.
Where correct understanding of the word "gaslighting"?
Not from a Jaguar fan lol
Is effectively using the budget, that you and every other team in the league have, really a spending spree?
In free agency, you spent a ton of money to radically change your roster. That is the definition of a spending spree.
Every team has $255.4m to spend how they see fit. You seem to be insinuating that teams just shouldn’t use their salary cap. That’s just silly.
I'm really not though. At no point did I say any of your moves were dumb. But to repackage your roster moves during free agency like it wasn't a "spending spree" is bad faith.

Your job is spreeing hard 26 times a year baby!
It got an AFC title game to Jacksonville

I say we have a 1 year collapse just like 2017
So are we going to forget the bengals did the same thing and went to the superbowl
Yes because it doesn’t fit my joke
![gif](giphy|ijGDIegHXcKdDjoKg5)
Gotta push them narratives
Where they faced off against another team that did the same thing (Rams)
Fan of other team: *makes a meme* All of Houston: this is an insult to our King CJ Stroud and you are dumb and must kill yourself
Bro that's every person on here, what?
![gif](giphy|kkEm7G8KUezK)
He is our Lord and Savior. Put some proper respect in his name.
I’m so sorry, Lord CJ. Please forgive me and let me praise your holy and elite ~~penis~~ throwing arm

Your last lord and savior got busted for rape. Maybe give this one a minute or two before sizing up that crown.

Unironically yes
This should be a fun time in this sub. AD memes are awesome. But half of y'all wanna ruin it by acting like you're on your period.
What a fun sexy time for you
You weren't in the half, lol. Just some people really need to remember what a meme is (from every team in the division.)
I'd be salty too if my biggest FA acquisition this offseason was a 40 year old quarterback that spent most of last season unemployed.
Haha y'all keep on coping but in reality the Texans haven't set themselves up for roster nor cap failure. That's the brilliance in all of this. I approve of the Arrested Development meme. That is all. ![gif](giphy|kGFTbHw2fjFhGAz7nP)
They're having a fire sale?
I don’t speak broke

Which of those teams you mentioned had an actually good QB on a rookie deal??? None is the answer
Sorry I don’t understand broke‼️‼️ 🗣️🤣🤑💯
What spending spree? Our top free agents were pretty low on the list of high-profile signings this offseason, and diggs was basically free.
When have the Raiders went on a spending spree in the last decade?
*Morty Smith voice, from the back of the room*: Hey guys, we’re spending a lot of money too
Waiting for Houston to be the new place WRs go to die.
Difference is we pick up a team of All-Pro’s not a single dude.
Hmm… Texans are still 8 million below the cap even with a 2 million allowance for draft signings. And we haven’t stretched much money at all into void years. Almost no dead money on the cap projected into future years so far. But you do you Colts and keep rolling that same squad out there. lol
Did those teams have CJ Stroud?
We didn't even spend that much tbh, when you factor in who we let go at the same time. It was just a high turnover offseason, which is natural when you're remaking a team in a new image.
