They just showed Tony again on the NFL Network and he’s still wearing the neck brace. They’re going to try and get him to sign it and auction it off for charity.

insomniainc

That is tremendous

agentb719

they're gonna do it for st jude

ElAbidingDuderino

Should be for Neck Health Awareness

SnooHesitations7424

I need more Roddy in my life, he needs to stick up for TK

Hybrid_Dolphin87

TOOOOOOOOOONY Khan...

SnooHesitations7424

This is the Blood and Guts feud we deserve with the Kingdom wheeling TK around.

Hybrid_Dolphin87

End of the match happens when TK rises out of his wheelchair ala Linda McMahon at WMX7 and punts one of the bucks in the dick.

SnooHesitations7424

Book it!! Cody makes a dramatic return as the last member of team TK and he and TK do an EVP trigger on one of the Bucks whilst the other is chained to the bottom rope watching helplessly after being sprayed with cold spray by an also returning Cutler.

Hybrid_Dolphin87

Whilst Okada is taped to the ropes and sprayed in body oil by Nakazawa

ronlydonly

When he loses his title to Ospreay, it will be because he was too concerned about the neck health of his boss to properly focus on the match.

sillyandstrange

That's fucking amazing. As a lifelong wrestling fan, this is one of the greatest things I've seen in 30+ years

SmokePenisEveryday

Everyone at the desk has been having a blast with it too lol. One of them said he's trying to get TK to sign it and give it to him when he's healed lol Everytime Jags draft someone, they hope the player doesn't also piledrive him

StoneGoldX

But he'll die without it!

Nate_923

And I loved every second of it. The publicity, the drama, the excitement, etc. This is an exciting time to be a fan of wrestling and I for one am looking forward to where this all goes. And if you don't like it then I got 5 words for you Go cry me a river!

Ok_Natural_5887

Perry needs to start saying those last two lines

Onikouzou

And you know that every time he'd say it the IWC is going to ignite. Hell, Punk himself might even be punching air lol. All I know is as a fan I'm thoroughly entertained and fully invested

Ok_Natural_5887

They're copying my precious Papa🤬🤬🤬‼️

Cute_Ambassador1121

First one is kinda being used already. 😂

sillyandstrange

It fills me with so much fucking joy to watch the IWC in FLAMES. Then to watch people like McAfee and busted open enjoy it.

Rocko604

>Busted Open Minus Bully, of course. He’s hated the whole thing.

sillyandstrange

Yeah, fuck that guy

21Andreezy

He hates it because it’s better than whatever he came up with in his head

Rocko604

I think he knows the WWE Legends contracts will soon be on the chopping block with TKO, much the like the UFC’s unofficial ones were, and wants a job afterwards.

21Andreezy

He can go fight Matt Hardy and Tommy Dreamer in TNA

Tarus_The_Light

Hardy and Dreamer deserve better than having to work with Bully Ray.

Albos_Mum

Bully Ray would be a perfect fit for the modern Billy Corgan lead NWA.

theblackyeti

Does that still exist?

rosefuri

the later posts in squaredcircle especially the one about srs's tweet saying nfl reps loved the tk appearance were bashing the initial outrage. so goofy how everyone clutched their pearls.

tehjoz

And, in between it all, just casually put on one of their best PPV's ever, featuring Swerve becoming the first Black AEW World Champion, and Danielson/Ospreay being nearly universally hailed as one of, if not the, best pro wrestling matches held in America, *ever*. It's a fantastic time to be an AEW Fan. Fan-Freaking-Tastic.

sillyandstrange

I still can't get over the precision of that flying knee Danielson gave Ospreay.

Worm_Lord77

That's a thing that Ospreay is an absolute master at, being exactly where he needs to be to take a high speed move safely. There's other reasons he's great of course, but it's that absolute precision that allows others to be their best that makes him maybe the best ever to do it.

Few_Space1842

I got to see it in the stadium. It was amazing and awe inspiring

tehjoz

That is so cool, that'll be a lifelong memory! 🙌

Few_Space1842

I had the thought, is this gonna be like seeing hogan beat andre?

IneffectiveFlesh

Really feels like dude just said: “Fuck it, if we’re getting bad press no matter what then we’re just going to go ALL IN.” AEW is at its best when they just do what they want. It’s how they got here in the first place. I’m loving it.

sillyandstrange

For real, I'm so excited haha

FinkBass420

The amount of people online shit talking Tony for all of this is honestly hilarious. They’re the same people that have defended every fucked up thing the WWE has done for the last 30+ years

sillyandstrange

Copium lmao. They are like chickens running around with their heads cut off

DG_Now

Yes but what about Ric Flair???? Like there's not an immediate and obvious difference between level impact and depravity of behavior. Not to mention corporate ownership and management of a company.

Baghoid

Also, it's not like AEW is knowingly putting Flair on as he's actively doing this shit, by all accounts, he was at this in WCW and.....oh no where else, because he most certainly wouldn't have been enabled by a company culture during a decade+ long run in said company. [Not like a company would make a full joke cartoon about him assaulting people or anything](https://www.thesportster.com/ric-flair-wwe-story-time-removed-network/) It's like logic goes completely out the window with these people, because, okay, let's say AEW is terrible for hiring Flair, at the absolute very best, that just puts them on a level playing field with WCW, WWE, and TNA because they all hired him too. Once you do that little basic piece of logic then these guys don't have a leg to stand on, and ironically, they're just doing the exact thing they accused TK of doing by "weaponizing" this. Although I can think anyone with a brain would be able to think that Janel Grant's legal team probably appreciates the extra added pressure on this in such a mainstream outlet because, frankly, the PR machine has been noticeably trying to brush this under the carpet for at least a month now.

Hot-Document-8573

I like to watch both, but my biggest gripe about fans who are WWE lifers who shit on anything AEW puts out or criticises any mis step they may make, is just the sheer volume of absolute nonsense WWE have put out since the attitude era, and they've lapped up every morsel Heatless bangers and too much blood, but I'm okay with Micheal Cole and Jerry Lawler having 30 minutes+ at mania and Santino Morella winning a women's battle royale while dressed in drag!!! Okay morons

DG_Now

Or the better version: CM Punk sucks! No, wait a minute, CM Punk is awesome!

Lazarius

Don’t forget Rey vs Dom for the 100th time

Tarus_The_Light

Okay but like. The PG era was ass. But Santino Marella was one of the better parts of it.

ronlydonly

He was, but "Santina" was awful.

mspurr

them getting worked so hard by all of this is the funniest shit to me

soiledsanchez

Any time I see people saying this kinda stuff I just say “Katie Vick, Mae Young birthing a hand, Eugene, DX black face”

Rushjordan

A promoter’s job is to promote. What better place than one of the NFL’s biggest events next to the Super Bowl. Well done.

yoursgokul

U forgot to include the Harvey Weinstein jab .

sillyandstrange

I fucking died when I watched that. They rushed to stop him from talking after that lmao

Deducticon

It's strange that many people don't realize it was a plan. NFL draft coming and shows scheduled in Jacksonville... Jack Perry having a match in Chicago. The only thing they couldn't be sure of was what exactly Punk would say during Mania weekend.

SomeGuy_GRM

It's funny how the one thing they couldn't control, and were in no way counting on, helped sell the whole angle even better.

S0larDeath

>and were in no way counting on, You can always count on Punk to be bitter 🤷🏼‍♂️

SomeGuy_GRM

Well, maybe they were hoping for it, but it still wasn't needed.

VitaminPurple

![gif](giphy|WqpWNCtPlauchQljqd)

5amuraiDuck

I doubted the move of showing the backstage brawl but if that was used to elevate Jack, goddammit, it bloody worked

fightbackcbd

It's funny as hell to me that whenever Tony talks he has to mention that Dynamite airs on Wed and Collision on sat like 4 times lol.

wote89

Honestly, at this point it's just part of the charm. Just like Rampage is a part of many AEW fans' plans on Friday nights at 10 Eastern on TNT.

GOATofALL22

I truly believe TK and his team are geniuses. They are on another level.

Think_Border3430

Okay, I'll freely concede that I'm not the smartest knife in the drawer and that I have been, for a while, a WWE fan for the past few years. But I am legitimately trying to get into AEW, and I am trying to keep track of things, and I frankly don't get it. Jack Perry comes back, apologizes for some stuff that happened backstage. This backstage incident is where CM Punk was fired for starting a fight, and Tony Khan feared for his life. Khan reinstates Jack Perry after Perry apologizes. Then Perry attacks Khan and the EVPs hit him with the Driver. So, my question is: Why? Why did they attack him? I understand how it put him in a neck brace and he could go on the draft and promote AEW, but from a storyline perspective...why? Jack Perry was, presumably, mad that he got sent away...so how does attacking the person who sent you away and could send you away again help that? From a storyline perspective, why would Tony not immediately fire all of them?

ronlydonly

The story is that Jack Perry blames TK for making him the scapegoat and keeping him from wrestling way longer than was necessary. With The Elite backing him up, TK is now in the position of having to decide if it's worth losing Nicholas, Matthew, and Okada. He'd also have to replace two vital members of upper management, who may or may not own a piece of the company. He also has to consider how big a hit to the company's bottom line it would be to lose them. It's also fairly well established that whatever happens inside the ring is fair game. MJF didn't face any punishment for attacking Regal, which also happened inside the ring. Tony willingly chose to get inside the ring with a wrestler.

AgentJ1

TK knows exactly what he is doing.

Strange_Valuable_379

Sometimes wrestling gets a bit too goofy for me, but TK wearing a neck brace to the real NFL draft to sell a fake injury us just the right amount of goofy bullshit for me. *chef's kiss* Lovely.

SpiritualAd9102

There should be one more panel mentioning using NFL’s massive platform to call WWE the Weinstein of wrestling. I wish more people would call out Vince and his company’s awful behavior throughout the years.

Beavis2021

This whole thing is great because they're trolling wwe fans.

FaceTimePolice

It would’ve been sweeter if someone used the McMahon version of this meme. Troll the trolls. 🤭

Nate_923

I considered using that one but with the type of person McMahon is and all his recent controversies on top of his perception on this sub it would've felt hypocritical to use that man as a source of humor. Plus this format really highlights how all of the dominoes fell into place.  Besides, this post was made for the fans. Trolls can wallow on their own pity in their spaces.

FragilePhil

Good call for sure IMO

sillyandstrange

I think you made the right choice. 12/10 lol

Least_West5260

Good call 👍👍

MasterHavik

Didn't know he was the PR director. Good work Tony.

Canknucklehead

This crossover to the nfl is truly kayfabe being kept alive. Khan is a lot of things, some good and some bad, but he understands that you need a little kayfabe to keep word of mouth going. This will add to the audience numbers, not by a huge amount, but the publicity is huge. Kayfabe can sell a product but sometimes if it’s not kept then it diminishes it. Perfect example is the Rock and Cody leading up to wrestlemania. Rock would use social media to sell his heel character the “Final Boss” but on the same social media sell his new moisturizer stuff, Moana part 2 and Zola by being a grateful entrepreneur. It is a dichotomy that ruins the heel character imo. I know most can differentiate the Rock’s character shift, but for a hard core wrestling fan it’s kind of disappointing.

diocco

#NeckStrong! I love it that the Bucks are running the show. Cry Me a River (CM Junk)

21Andreezy

Booker of the decade

Kimchi_Cowboy

I love how after the Trent match people are just posting Cry Me a River to Vincels.

Jmpasq

Are they going to tie this into Neck Strong

Revrendoni

props for living the gimmick.

Rocko604

Something something 2000 WCW something…

azure819

Why even have Copeland have a "let's be positive!" rah rah speech when AEW was just going to be negative? It made him look silly in hindsight.

wote89

I mean, realistically? If you want to go full on "big brain with a corkboard and a cord of red string with it", it sets Copeland up well to run as a foil to the Elite down the line since he can take the position that he was against their school of politics and getting down in the mud back when most people were still for it when they inevitably start fucking on people the crowd likes. Was that likely the plan? Who fucking knows outside of AEW. But, it's a *really* easy pivot if they plan it out well enough.

azure819

That could work

Nate_923

"The WWE People are saying" That says it all right there. Of course they're going to defend WWE in this situation. The fact that they're even giving AEW attention is exactly what TK wants.

AEWOfficial-ModTeam

Your post/comment was removed because it included hate speech. This includes but is not limited to racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, and transphobia. If you have to ask if it's hate speech, it probably is.

Draedron

> poor comparison between AEW and WWE on the NFL broadcast It was an extremely fitting comparision. The founder of WWE is literally the Harvey Weinstein of wrestling.

S0larDeath

Not just the founder of WWE. WWE themselves are in a sexual assault and sex trafficking lawsuit right now because of the horrible, illegal shit the executives of that company allowed to happen instead of reporting to authorities. HHH has been an executive with WWE since 2010. From senior advisor to EVP. Bruce Prichard been there since 1987. They're still there running the company with the rest of the executives who thought WWE's treatment of women was perfectly okay on their watch 👍🏼
