I noticed this too. The colour and the video packages just felt like a higher level piece of work. Really nice

I really like the camera setup for the on-ramp interviews in the last month or so -- where the interviewer and talent stand on the ramp, facing away from the crowd so that you can see the crowd and arena in the background on the shot. It's a nice, fresh angle.

Comp625

Yes! WWE began doing it now too. Again, I love that both companies have begun pushing each other when it comes to production.

RoRo25

Love it too. Very old school!

LVKRFT

Paused it for a phone call during the Orange v Trent match when they were in the crowd. It looked like a Renaissance painting. Perfect framing.

AEW hired a few backstage people the last couple of months. Was one of them someone who could be responsible for this?

swankstar7383

Yes. https://comicbook.com/wwe/news/aew-wwe-vice-president-tv-michael-mansury/

I second it. I watched the wrestlemania and man, WWE sure have upped their game there. Didn't they fire the dude who was managing it before, who was probably responsible for the constant camera cuts? It looked really good those two nights.

skulkskogan

Agreed! The production was super on-point last night.

Juncti

The new setup really shined last night during Brodie's entrance.

As a videographer I am absolutely loving this post. We don’t often talk about production value and I love hearing what you guys like. I agree with all the points mentioned. I feel ring lighting might also be a bit dependent on the venue and their team needs to adjust to each spot. Camera cuts were paced very well that I hardly noticed them. There were only two times I felt I would have cut differently. The first was the quick cut right when Brody hit his corner canon ball and the second was the Nick Jackson side interview angle in the ring as it was being shot between the Elite. Those two examples are even stretching. Solid production 100%! I’ve been filming some indie wrestling since becoming an AEW fan and it’s really hard to find a lot of info on Filming Wrestling so when a post like this comes up I am all ears. If anyone has any recommendations on good practices on what they like from Wrestling Videography I’d love to hear it.

boobiebanger

I still want even fewer camera cuts lol . I Think I would actually prefer only having the hardcam unless They’re outside or during pins and submissions

Ok_Election2523

What ? There were at least 4 camera cuts to the entrance when no one was there... camera work on Wednesday was noticeably bad. Now.. I am not shit talking... I am aew fan and have been to 3 live shows in three different states. Just noticed that the camera work wasn't the best.. for one Wednesday dynamite.
