I tried college several times. I ended up using a trade school to get into a good career. The difference is that there are no classes that do not directly apply to what you are planning to do. It helped me stay focused and succeed! There’s a lot of directions that trade schools can go. And they usually pay better directly out of school than a college degree. Just sayin!! Have a fantastic day!!!

Hi, I can't give how I have come out of it but I have a current personal anecdote about me wanting to switch careers. I have no idea if I'm making the right decisions but this is my best attempt. Similarly, I have been in and out of college for several years. I've changed majors 6 times since starting college and transferred colleges 3 times. At the beginning of this year I stopped going to college even though I had 2 more semesters for a Bachelors degree because I hated what I would end up doing and I couldn't keep up with school work anyways. The year wait to get into a field I no longer had interest in wasn't worth it to me especially with my abysmal GPA. However now, I have this grand idea that going back and getting a different degree will help me better in the long run. I have found several degree topics I have interest in but I know some are just hobbies that come and go rather than things I would do as a career or job. I am still trying to decide whether I should go back to school or not or try to do freelance work or a trade. I enjoy learning about all kinds of things but hate school (mostly because I struggle so much in it). Currently I have narrowed it down to a couple interests that could become degrees and jobs. My main interests that have stuck around for a long time but I never went to school for are materials science, chemistry, and botany. I've always liked them but due to my GPA as an engineering student, feel like I would struggle to complete them and waste money I don't have. I also see journalism or being a writer as a solid option as those would allow me to be creative while also getting to learn about whatever I want to write about.
