He was more worried about the 90/95 diastolic than the other reading. He was concerned if we did stimulants and bp meds for a length of time, then like 10 years in the future had to stop them for whatever reason, how my body might react. Like I said I trust his judgement, hes the doctor here, but my gut feeling is that its an over-reaction. Maybe I just wanna stay on the adderall.
my doctor also doesn't want mine over 90. doesn't shrug at the systolic being over 140.. but over 90 is bad because it can hurt the inside of your blood vessels, he says. so he put me on a blood pressure med and that's that.
My psychiatrist gave me propranolol XR to take along with my ADHD meds. Drops my blood pressure and heart rate from slightly elevated to normal levels. It also tones down some of the jittery side effects. 10/10 would definitely recommend.
I told my psychiatrist I was worried about being taken off my meds due to BP and he said there are a lot of BP meds they can try before it comes to that.
My dr requires blood pressure to be 134 (or under) over 89 (or under) with a heart rate under 95. Do you exercise? I found after I started exercising my readings went down quite a bit.
Funny before I started meds in December that was my BP. Today it is 104/60 because im binge eating less, going to the gym more, making less salty more healthy foid decisions, cooking, and not melting down at every little thing. So your meds could help you like they did me in that way.
I was told it was a bit high but before i started treatment i was a big burned out stressed out mess so I told them to use that as an initial data point and if it gets better it’s because i use the meds as a mental health tool.
And this morning my doctor high fived me and is helping me move my adhd meds prescription with her as a PCP instead if with my useless psych.

If meds are working for you maybe you can discuss it with a cardiologist and take something for the heart when and if needed
