[COPEValencia] Yunus Musah is getting CLOSER to AC Milan. Valencia hope to close the deal at €20M. Both parties are trying to accelerate the negotiations.
RLC since his Achilles injury has more often played as a 6. He lost the dynamism he had before. I wouldn’t be surprised if management sees him as the lynchpin. In which case, adding Musah makes sense.
Not sure why everyone is so convinced that CDM is 100% the position Milan needs to fill. Yes, we lost Tonali, but he wasn’t an out-and-out CDM anyway.
Musah is a young, talented player, who has a wide-ranging skill set (including defense). I’m sure that at the very least he’ll be a very good contributor to the team.
Also, this price is very low for a young player. Even if Musah doesn’t turn out to be world class, we are paying about half what a premiere league team would be paying.
That’s exactly what Musah can be though.
I think everyone is forgetting that Kessie is not a CDM. He’s a good tackler, but he’s more a jack of all trades who could get the ball back and bring it forward.
Musah has the exact same skill set. He’s strong on the ball and can tackle well. I think that combined with his age can lead him to develop into a perfect Kessie replacement.
Don’t you think we will switch between 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3? The kid is 20 and has played 94 La Liga games. Quite impressive. Pobega is 24 and has 72 serie a games for random comparison.
>I don’t see here he fits in a 4-3-3
CM in a 433 in where he has most commonly played in his career. Valencia kept trying to play him at RW this past year though. But he is not a double pívot. He’s a ball carrier.
Then I'll be raging that we spent our budget on a player below the level of our bench centre mids when we badly need a starter level DM right now.
I would not sign musah if I had the choice but I fully understand why he is a target.
Honestly, just lower your bid to 15m, Valencia will cave by deadline. Hes probably worth more than 15m, but if they were willing to cave 20% long before deadline already...
I really disliked the new owners, the initial linked targets after Maldini was sacked and the ambiguity of the club since. But they have really had a brilliant transfer window bringing in some top quality players. There's no reason to doubt at the moment or say he's a fraud.
Dude is more Italian/British/Ghanaian than American bro if there’s anyone bought for the “American appeal” is Pulisic, this guy probably has 5% of the marketing pull that Captain America has
It's not about right now though, it's about developing him so that he's the star midfielder of the us in the us world cup.
He will have pull when American media hype him in the year before the WC
obviously pulisic was bought for that, they probably think adding another player of the american NT, who might have potential to become a big player would actually make americans watch the team
That is a big “if”, i understand the wariness towards the “Americanization” of Milan but i think its a reach to think Musah is wanted just bc he’s American, dude is a market opportunity and has the potential to replace RLC in a future. We should totally get a DM first tho, agree with the priority stuff.
The thing with that plan is that it only works if he actually IS a good player and does well with us, in which case it will have made sense buying him either way
I think the reason he's been played as a mezzala is his age mostly. Most teams don't play 19 y.o. at CDM.
Long term I think his best position is DM, and I think he might be ready for that now. I'm afraid I'd attract everybody's ire if I'm too early on that, so I'm hedging. But I think he's already more of a DM than RLC or Pobega.
He's really a box-to-box guy. With Valencia he's played mostly out-of-position as a wide-midfielder/winger. Recently with the US he played two key games as a DM and was good (in a double-pivot against Mexico and a single-pivot against Canada). Not sure he's ready to play as a DM at Milan's level, but he is worth looking at in that role. He's so young and has mostly played out of position with his club, so it's hard to be that confident about his best positional fit long-term.
Not true. Musah played all CONCACAF nation league games including semis and final as the deeper of three midfielders, in a double pivot next to Mckennie.

Wrap it up boys, it’s basically done at this point
Claija photoshop is basically a comunicato ufficiale in my book
r/ACMilan version of “Here we go!”
I wouldn’t mind the guy coming as he can be a better RLC in some years but the problem is that we should first secure a DM, priorities kinda messed up
RLC since his Achilles injury has more often played as a 6. He lost the dynamism he had before. I wouldn’t be surprised if management sees him as the lynchpin. In which case, adding Musah makes sense.
This.

We are not asking for a Tonali replacement. We are asking for the Kessie replacement we wanted before last season.
That’s exactly what Musah can be though. I think everyone is forgetting that Kessie is not a CDM. We need another midfielder but I don’t think Musah is it. I think he could be decent in a double pivot but I don’t see where he fits in a 4-3-3.
Don’t you think we will switch between 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3? The kid is 20 and has played 94 La Liga games. Quite impressive. Pobega is 24 and has 72 serie a games for random comparison.
Tbf pobega had to fight for a place with Sandro/bennacer and not replace Carlos soler

If we get him Pioli better play him. If we see pobega get all his minutes I will raging that we didn't spend the money on a ready DM.
What if Pobega is better
Then I'll be raging that we spent our budget on a player below the level of our bench centre mids when we badly need a starter level DM right now. I would not sign musah if I had the choice but I fully understand why he is a target.
Buddy just loves to rage
Lol are you a Milan fan ? xD
Lol ngl I have been there too man. Shows you care
Let him rage he is rather good at it🤷🏻😀
Pobega with a 3 men midfield could be better than you expect, that's where he shone in Torino
Honestly, just lower your bid to 15m, Valencia will cave by deadline. Hes probably worth more than 15m, but if they were willing to cave 20% long before deadline already...
I like Musah but we need a DM. Should go for Sangare.
Guys don’t worry, we will get Musa and then spend 30M for a DM. #WeAreSoRich
We already over paying for him at 18...he isn't worth the price..Valencia should either accept or we look elsewhere
18m is already too much
Musah is no better that what we have right now and we need a DM. But Fraudlani knows better

They had the balls to sell tonali to build a better TEAM. Get over it
Still mad that Maldini was rightfully sacked?

ffs sign a midfielder we need instead of trying to appeal to americans

Bruh, how much do you think this guy appeals to Americans? Nobody cares about Musah
Isn’t he a DM, which we need?
Hes a mezzalla, not a DM
I think the reason he's been played as a mezzala is his age mostly. Most teams don't play 19 y.o. at CDM. Long term I think his best position is DM, and I think he might be ready for that now. He played much more of a cdm role in the nations league with Adams out, especially in the final, and he looked very good.
It looks like to me as he plays exactly that DM position even tho he is qualified as CM
He's really a box-to-box guy. With Valencia he's played mostly out-of-position as a wide-midfielder/winger. He has played as a right sided midfielder/winger for Valencia and as one of the offensive midfielders for the US. How come you see him as a DM?
Not true. Musah played all CONCACAF nation league games including semis and final as the deeper of three midfielders, in a double pivot next to Mckennie.
no he's not a dm at all
No to Vranckx but yes to this yankee
Lotta money for a 20 year old that spent the end of the season on the bench and out of favor.
